One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 102: Chapter 102: Call Me Lord Jack

One of Kaido's secretarial aides entered the room with a bright smile, kneeling politely before him.

"Kaido-sama, here's the report from Udon."

"Oh? Let me see."

Kaido flipped through a few pages, a smirk forming on his face.

"Well, well, it seems Jack's been rather capable this time. He's already started splitting up those pesky samurai?"

"There's even a chance they might join the Beasts Pirates?"

"Ha! Not bad, not bad at all!"

"Shame about Babanuki, though. That guy's dead already? Jack really doesn't pull his punches..."

"Hm?" Kaido's sharp gaze froze as he read further, carefully enunciating every word:

"Jack ordered Yamato to fight the prisoners to the death... and then got bitten by an enraged Yamato?"

"That idiot!"

BAM!

"Jack... That bastard!" Kaido's fist crashed down on the table.

"Switch his Seastone shackles to the purest grade! Tighten them completely!"

"Bring Yamato back here—I'll teach her some new techniques myself!"

"And let Yamato practice her club techniques... on Jack!"

Jack lay sprawled on the ground like a defeated bug, staring lifelessly at the sky.

Pure Seastone—100% purity—was a nightmare for Devil Fruit users. Worse than seawater, it sapped all strength, leaving him utterly powerless.

At least when Jack fell into the ocean, he could transform into a mammoth, even if he couldn't move. But with these shackles, he couldn't even manage that. What the hell was in this metal?

Bound by such chains, even someone like him needed time to adjust.

Nearby, Yamato approached with her club in hand, wearing a skirt that swayed as she moved. Jack glanced at her briefly before turning his head away, which only enraged her further.

"Hey! What's with that dismissive look, huh?"

"I'm not a kid anymore, you know! And by the way—" Yamato puffed out her chest in defiance. "I saw that book you gave Maria!"

"Why do you act like a total perv around Maria, but when I'm in a skirt, you just... ignore me!?"

Jack turned back to face her, furrowing his brows as he studied her for a moment. Then, in a serious tone, he said:

"Yamato, you're too young to be reading stuff like that."

"Besides, you're barely literate. Did you even understand what you were looking at?"

Yamato raised her head proudly. "I don't need to read it, there are pictures!"

"I even showed it to Dad yesterday!"

Jack's eyes snapped shut. A wave of inexplicable pain washed over him.

The last two months of 1510 were absolute hell for Jack.

Just as he was starting to adapt to the high-purity Seastone shackles, Kaido began using him as a punching bag under the pretense of helping him "develop immortality."

Kaido would fly to Udon Prison whenever he had spare time, stringing Jack up and beating him senseless. And not just with any weapon—Kaido used his spiked kanabo, imbued with Haki.

This torment continued through the New Year, and only when the Fire Festival preparations began was Jack finally released from Udon Prison.

With most of the mines and weapon factories on Ailen Island now complete, King stayed behind on the island to oversee operations. As a result, he wouldn't be attending this year's Fire Festival.

However, the return of the Fish-Men brought a lively energy to Onigashima.

The moment Jack arrived, the Fish-Men erupted in cheers:

"Jack-sama!"

Jack surveyed the energetic group and nodded in satisfaction.

It seemed King's strict "education" had successfully erased much of their mistrust toward humans. Judging by the scars on some chests, the "lessons" hadn't been gentle.

Among the group were hundreds of mermaids, which briefly startled Jack. Holdem leaned over to explain in a hushed voice.

"Kaido-sama personally visited them and promised to bring their families from Fish-Man Island to Onigashima. The Beasts Pirates are building accommodations for them here, turning Onigashima into a second home for the Fish-Men."

Jack finally understood why Kaido had flattened part of the mountainous terrain surrounding Onigashima. He'd even connected it to the ocean, creating an underwater palace and luxurious housing aboveground.

Typical Kaido—always thinking big. But his ambitions seemed a little premature. Most of these Fish-Men were orphans, and the mermaids probably weren't much more than girlfriends they'd met after joining the crew.

Still, if Kaido could fully control Fish-Man Island, it would be a huge step forward. With that kind of power, he'd charge ahead no matter the opponent.

Onigashima was evolving rapidly. With ample funds, new buildings sprouted every year.

Standing before a half-constructed amusement park, Jack realized it hadn't existed before his time in Udon Prison.

Nearby, Yamato was working alongside the Ulti siblings, wielding a shovel with enthusiasm.

"Wait... Is Yamato... spanking Ulti?" Jack muttered in disbelief. "And Page One, too? Seriously?"

Shaking his head, Jack sighed. "I get that you're close as siblings, but why provoke Yamato of all people? She's not exactly known for her gentle nature."

As Yamato's club swung down again, Ulti caught sight of Jack and brightened, calling out desperately:

"Jack, plea—!"

Her words froze mid-sentence as she spotted something behind him.

Yamato also stopped mid-swing, her expression turning to shock.

"Ha! Look who it is—our new All-Star, 'Drought' Jack!"

"Word is you let a Devil Fruit get stolen and got thrown into Udon Prison as punishment!"

Jack turned slowly to see two members of the Tobiroppo standing behind him, each uglier than the other, accompanied by hundreds of sneering pirates.

The Tobiroppo smirked as a subordinate whispered something to them.

"Those two brats stole the fruit? You couldn't even guard against a pair of kids? What kind of All-Star are you? Utter trash!"

"Watch your mouth, you bastard!" snapped Holdem, his fury echoed by the Fish-Men. Within seconds, over a thousand Fish-Men surrounded the Tobiroppo, their expressions murderous.

"Enough!" Jack barked, raising a hand. "The Beasts Pirates have a rule—no infighting! Don't break it!"

Lowering his voice, he turned to the Tobiroppo, his gaze icy.

"Unlike King or Queen, I'm not a forgiving man."

"Remember this: when you see me, you call me Jack-sama."

"The Beasts Pirates forbid infighting, but if you've got a problem with me, take it to Kaido-sama. Challenge me properly.

"But don't blame me if you end up dead."

With that, Jack strode off, his entourage following behind.

The Tobiroppo watched him leave, seething.

"Let's go. We're taking this straight to Kaido-sama!"
