One Piece: Signing In as a Pirate Begins with Roger's Execution

"I never imagined that eliminating characters from the original storyline could trigger a sign-in event. No wonder my Conqueror's Haki felt significantly stronger after unleashing it just now!"

Karl wore a broad smile, clearly pleased.

He then instructed Smoker to transport Roger's body back to the Marine base while he set out to eradicate the remaining pirates.

As Karl's figure disappeared into the distance, Smoker looked on, his gaze brimming with admiration.

Initially, Smoker respected Karl's strength and sought to work under him. But after hearing Karl's recent speech, Smoker's respect had grown into complete reverence.

And it wasn't just Smoker. Karl's words, broadcast live, had spread across the world.

Now, every pirate in the world knew of this previously obscure Marine. Some were moved by his words, others became hostile, but most dismissed him as inconsequential—a mere Marine tasked with executing Roger.

However, Karl's objective had already been achieved. He had overshadowed Roger's final words.

Fame mattered little to Karl. Being remembered was a bonus, but anonymity wouldn't bother him either.

After all, the road ahead was long. One day, Karl would ensure the entire world knew his name.

"You always manage to surprise people with your words—classic Karl!"

Dragon appeared beside Karl, walking alongside him.

Around them, Marines were rounding up fleeing pirates. Amidst the downpour, the two seemed strikingly out of place.

"Still here, huh? If you don't leave soon, I'll go find Garp and let him handle you, his runaway son!"

Dragon's expression twitched slightly at Karl's remark. "Fine, you win this time!"

With that, Dragon transformed into a gust of wind and vanished from Loguetown.

Before leaving, however, he stirred up a powerful windstorm, gathering rainwater from the area and dumping it directly onto Karl's head.

Karl was instantly drenched.

"Petty bastard..."

Though grumbling, Karl wasn't angry. He merely felt a touch of regret. This farewell meant it might be years before they met again.

By then, Dragon would have fully embraced his role as the Revolutionary Army's leader.

When that time came, their reunion would place them on opposing sides.

"I'll cross that bridge when I get there. For now, I should focus on completing my immediate goals."

As Karl spoke, his gaze fell upon a red-haired man nearby, evading Marine pursuit.

At first glance, Karl recognized him as Shanks!

At the same time, the system's voice chimed in:

[Target detected: Shanks. Sign-in available!]

[Target detected: Buggy the Clown. Sign-in available!]

"Both Buggy and Shanks are here?"

Without hesitation, Karl launched himself forward using Moonwalk.

Meanwhile, Shanks and Buggy were desperately fleeing from the Marines.

Buggy's combat ability, however, left much to be desired.

The Marines tasked with the operation were elite officers from Marine Headquarters, and Buggy could only barely manage to fend off one or two.

Shanks, on the other hand, was far stronger. None of the Marines present could match him.

"Hang in there, Buggy! We're almost out!"

"Let go of me, Shanks! I told you I'm not leaving with you—we're enemies now!"

"Now's not the time for petty squabbles. I know you want revenge for the captain, but this isn't the moment. We're too weak right now. Let's get stronger first, then come back for revenge!"

A sudden wave of Conqueror's Haki enveloped the duo.

Buggy's knees buckled, nearly causing him to collapse. Shanks, however, stood firm, his eyes sharp and his aura imposing—a clear sign of his imminent Conqueror's Haki awakening.

Buggy, lacking such potential, barely stayed conscious, his past experience with Roger's adventures being his saving grace.

"Karl! You bastard..."

Buggy gritted his teeth, vowing to kill Karl and avenge Roger.

Shanks, however, remained calm, questioning Karl instead.

"Why did you say those words during the execution? Were you trying to overshadow the captain's declaration and divert attention from Laugh Tale?"

"Why? How amusing that mere pirates dare to ask me that. Do you even deserve an answer?"

Karl smirked, taunting Shanks and Buggy with the air of a villain.

"If that's how it is, we have nothing more to say! Buggy, run!"

"You bastard, I'll make you pay! One day, I'll avenge the captain!"

Buggy shouted a threat before turning to flee. Shanks followed suit, not wanting to linger.

But Karl had no intention of letting Buggy escape.

Using Soru, he closed the distance in an instant, grabbed Buggy, and hoisted him over his shoulder. A pair of Seastone cuffs secured Buggy's hands.

[Sign-in complete: Buggy the Clown. Minor swordsmanship enhancement acquired.]

"Tch, what rotten luck," Karl muttered.

He had hoped for Buggy's Chop-Chop Fruit but instead received a minor boost to his swordsmanship. His bad luck from past lives seemed to persist.

"What are you doing?! Let me go, you scoundrel! I won't let this slide!"

With his powers neutralized by the cuffs, Buggy could only curse.

Annoyed, Karl struck Buggy's neck, knocking him unconscious.

"Such a noisy red nose. I'll deal with you later!"

Noticing Buggy's capture, Shanks immediately turned back, drawing his saber Gryphon.

A powerful sword slash swept forth, evaporating rain and carving through the surroundings with overwhelming force.

Karl smiled faintly, his blade gleaming as it intercepted the attack.

Shanks' strike exploded mid-air, creating a shockwave that left the area in a temporary vacuum, with no rain falling within a hundred meters.

For a few moments, it was as if time stood still for the two swordsmen.
