Chapter 756: Chapter 640 On the Cannonfire-Battered Battlefield

The pirates' advance didn't last long. Upon realizing that the Marines were retreating in an orderly fashion, no one needed to give orders; all the pirates knew they had to leave the bay quickly.

However, at that moment, one of the Marine Admirals, the monster known as "Akainu" Sakazuki, stood in their way.

''Dai Funka - Great Eruption!!''

A massive flow of magma, as thick as a battleship, formed into a glaring crimson flame dragon that charged towards the only gap in the defenses.

''Bang!''

The splattering magma cooked and burned countless pirates alive, momentarily silencing the chaotic battlefield.

Akainu, the leader of the Marine War Faction, chose the most brutal method of swift extermination, intimidating the pirates!

"''Akainu!!''"

Seeing his comrades slaughtered en masse, Little Oars screamed in agony as he patted the magma off his body. Marco let out a sharp cry, his incarnation, a great bird entwined with blue flames, dove straight down.

There were not many in the Whitebeard Pirates who could single-handedly confront an Admiral, but Marco was definitely one of them.

The Undying Bird Fruit granted him immortality, allowing him to, for a short time, be fearless of any injury, just like Rowen.

''Clang!''

The beak of the bird collided with Marco's fist, which was covered in Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki), forcing the surging magma apart. Marco's face showed determination as he exerted more strength.

''Bang!!''

Incredibly, he pushed back Akainu's attack, sending him three steps back.

"Interesting… but Justice must be served!"

Akainu wiped the blood off his fists, which bore a fresh scar, then glared with a fierce killing intent and charged straight at Marco.

"Now's our chance, hurry!"

In that split second when Marco blocked Akainu, Little Oars roared, enduring the pain.

The Dai Funka - Great Eruption aimed at him had resulted in his pirate comrades being collateral damage; as the primary target, his abdomen was charred black, and through the bloody gash, his writhing innards were faintly visible.

"This idiot can't handle a little provocation!"

Seeing this, Sengoku helplessly held his forehead.

Akainu's uncompromising style meant he would never falter in the face of any enemy, but provocation only fueled his fury.

Marco, using himself as bait, successfully drew Akainu's attention away.

Perhaps in Akainu's eyes, killing Marco before turning to deal with the heavily injured Little Oars would be a simple matter of time.

However, since Marco dared to face him alone, how could he be given that opportunity?

"Rowen, you—"

Just as Sengoku was about to ask Rowen for help, he suddenly noticed one figure among the four standing tall on the high walls adjacent to the Bay Port jump down.

"Let him handle it, Fleet Admiral."

Rowen understood what Sengoku wanted to say and smiled, "Law has his own unique techniques for dealing with these large-scale creatures."

"Alright, since you're so sure…"

Sengoku nodded, refraining from further comments.

Trafalgar Law could indeed not be treated like an ordinary person.

"Charge, now!"

"Kill!!"

While Marco was entangled with Akainu, the Whitebeard Pirates surged toward the breach again, eager to break through the encirclement.

Little Oars took the lead, smashing through the blocking wall with a kick. Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of a dark figure crossing in front of him, causing him to freeze in place.

"Vice Admiral wants you dead, so just go ahead and die!"

A light, airy voice rang out in front of the pirates. Law wore a creepy smile, his right hand resting on his shoulder with Kikoku, and his left hand… holding a massive, throbbing, crimson heart!

Looking at the stunned faces of the pirates before him, Law lifted his chin, gesturing for them to look around.

"See? I've even prepared tombstones for you."

''Bang, rumble!!''

As his words fell, the vacuum pumps beneath the ocean, which had been prepared for a long time, finally generated enough thrust. Thick iron plates, over three meters thick and more than a hundred meters high and wide, pierced through the ocean and ice, encasing the Bay Port.

Like iron "tombstones," they towered around the pirates.

Rowen, understanding that mastering core technology was the first productivity force, pushed against the consensus, calling Caesar back from Mary Geoise, where he was conducting transformation experiments. They remodeled the slowly rising steel plates from the original work into "launching" devices.

With the preparation time slightly longer, they would no longer face mechanical failures from Little Oars' blood seeping in.

"Damn… asshole!!"

Even without knowing what would happen next, the omen of death loomed in every pirate's heart.

Watching the pirates charging at him in anger, Law smirked wickedly.

''Kā Jī!!''

With a single stroke, Law split the pirates standing unaware in his ROOM space into small chunks, then sliced open the giant-scale heart in his hand.

''"Puh!!"''

Behind him, Little Oars, who had slowly turned around, was about to reach out, but suddenly coughed up blood, the light in his eyes rapidly fading.

"Give it back to me…"

"Give my heart… back to… me…"

"Sorry, sorry, was this yours?"

Law chuckled insincerely, turning away. "Well then, I won't give it back!"

''Swoosh!''

He drew his sword again, Kikoku, and mercilessly dragged it across the extracted heart, cleaving it into four pieces along with the previous cut.

''"Puh!!"''

This strike completely severed Little Oars' life force, the remaining strength swiftly draining from his enormous body. Little Oars staggered backward, crashed against the steel plate, and then sat down heavily, losing all consciousness.

In the original story, Little Oars, who died at the hands of Shichibukai Moria, had once again failed to escape his fate, perishing at the hands of Shichibukai Law this time.

"Oars!!"

"Captain Oars!!"

The pirates watched in disbelief as they witnessed this scene. They could not understand how the "demon" Little Oars, who had just been rampaging, could fall so easily.

"See? I told you Law is skilled at dealing with large-scale targets!"

From a distance on the high platform, Rowen shrugged and said.

In Law's ROOM space, there were no distinctions of volume, density, weight, or hardness.

For an ordinary person, even knowing that the heart is a vital point, penetrating through Little Oars' thick layers of muscle to injure the heart would be extraordinarily difficult.

However, for Law, all the defenses provided by that flesh were meaningless.

As long as the target was enveloped in his ROOM space, he had control over how to play the game.

Especially with large-scale targets like Little Oars, whose naturally sluggish reactions made it impossible for him to defend or dodge against Law's nimble attacks. He could only passively endure the blows.

"Oars!!!"

Third Division Commander "Diamond" Jozu's eyes turned bloodshot as he transformed into his Diamond Giant form.

However, he was well aware of Law's abilities, so he didn't recklessly rely on his fruit powers. Instead, he pulled a massive block of ice from the ground and hurled it at Law.

"It's time to retreat, Admiral Akainu."

Law had no interest in entangling himself with Jozu's impotent fury. The ROOM space quickly shifted, moving to Akainu, who was locked in a standoff with Marco.

"Hum! I understand!"

Akainu had no fondness for pirates, even those under Marine management.

Law shrugged helplessly, placing a hand on Akainu's shoulder, and then both of them transferred out of Bay Port.

At this moment, only the members of the Whitebeard Pirates remained in the port.

"What do they want to do?"

Marco did not recklessly charge in; he stopped to look around, confused.

"I don't know. I'll see if I can break through the iron wall blocking the way. You all be careful…"

Before Jozu could finish speaking, a spine-chilling loud noise suddenly came from above.

Everyone looked up and gasped in shock.

It was a torrential downpour!

A rain of cannon fire created simultaneously by Plasma Cannons and small Super Electromagnetic Cannons!

"A wave of sixteen thousand shots, a total of three waves… even Whitebeard can't possibly block it all, right?"

Rowen calculated the cost anxiously, suddenly feeling Sengoku's gaze on him and promptly raised his hands in surrender.

"Alright, I'll take on the mission to rebuild the port. Just don't make Headquarters pay, okay?!"

Upon receiving a satisfactory response, Sengoku withdrew his gaze and grinned.

Then he looked at the cannonball rain falling from the sky, grimacing as he bit his lip.

"This is all money!!"
