Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Land of Gold.

As Zoro shattered the lightning, a group of people ran over from a distance.

"You must be the illegal immigrants from the Blue Sea. I am McKinley, captain of the White Beret Squad. I hereby inform you that you have committed the crime of illegal entry and must pay a fine ten times the original amount — or face divine judgment."

Before Luffy and the others could reply, a figure sped through the sky-clouds in the distance like an arrow.

McKinley glanced at the Waver Nami was riding and sneered, "That woman is your companion, isn't she? That Waver isn't from the Blue Sea. You must have stolen it. That makes you guilty of theft as well."

"With both crimes combined, each of you needs to pay 10 million extol. There are eight of you in total — that's 80 million extol," McKinley said coldly.

Nami, riding the Waver from afar, instantly exploded in rage. "Go to hell! If anyone dares to touch my money, I'll kill them!"

Whoosh!

A blur flew past, and Nami crashed the Waver straight into McKinley.

With a bang, McKinley was sent flying over a hundred meters before crashing to the ground.

Conis and her father's expressions changed drastically, and they rushed over to check on McKinley.

He shoved them aside, his face flushed with fury. "Damn Blue Sea people! You dare attack the White Beret Squad! I'll arrest you all and take you to face the Divine Judgment!"

"Squad, capture them!"

"Yes, sir!"

The White Beret Squad charged menacingly toward Luffy and the others.

"Gum-Gum Rapid-Fire Pistol!"

Luffy's fists moved like a blur, knocking down the entire squad. Just as McKinley opened his mouth to speak, a fist met his face.

Splatt!

McKinley collapsed.

Conis and her father turned pale. As Skypiea residents, they knew how terrifying it was to offend the White Berets.

Conis approached Luffy and the others, her expression complicated. "You only have two paths now: one is to become a sacrifice, the other is to undergo the Divine Ordeal."

"Anyone who offends God is subjected to Heavenly Judgment. The result is either death — or defeating God's guards. If you try to flee, God will punish you with divine lightning."

"In that case, let's go take the Divine Ordeal!" Luffy declared excitedly.

"I want to see God's power too. Was that lightning earlier the so-called divine punishment? I'm curious to try again," Zoro said, his fighting spirit ignited.

Sanji took a long drag of his cigarette and nodded, "A so-called God? Yeah, I'm curious what kind of man he is."

Usopp was nearly in tears. "You guys have no respect for the concept of a God! We can't possibly beat him!"

"Pathetic. What God? He's just a Devil Fruit user with a bit of strength. If we're talking about God, Aren't I suppose to be one?" Shin'ya sneered, smacking Usopp over the head.

Luffy grinned at his crewmates, all of them brimming with fighting spirit. "Conis, do you know how to get to God's Island?"

Conis hesitated, then pointed to a location on the island. "Go up from here. There are ships at Angel Island's port that go to God's Island."

"Alright, crewmates — let's go! Our destination is God's Island!"

"If you're going, I'll take you to the port," Conis said softly, leading them in a certain direction.

Angel Island was bustling with activity, but as soon as people spotted the group, they shrank back, clearly wanting to avoid them.

"They're afraid of us… why?" Usopp whispered nervously.

Zoro silently scanned their surroundings, a frown forming as suspicion grew in his heart.

Before long, Conis led them to the port and pointed to the ships. "We're here. You can reach God's Island from there."

Shin'ya Kurozawa halted, narrowing his eyes. "Why are they all afraid of us, but you're not?"

Luffy clapped his hands in realization. "Yeah, you're a resident too. Why aren't you afraid like the others?"

Nami, Robin, and the others also eyed her suspiciously.

Conis bit her lip, tears welling up in her eyes. "I'm sorry… you've committed a crime. As residents of Skypiea, when we know the whereabouts of criminals, we're obligated to guide them to God's Island — or else we'll be judged too. God has already set his eyes on you…"

"Oh no! How could you say that?"

"Yeah! Now you'll be judged too!"

"Run, quick! Don't get caught up with them!"

"Right, hurry!"

The surrounding onlookers scattered in fear.

Right then, a lightning bolt nearly ten meters thick plummeted from the sky toward Conis.

Luffy sensed it instantly. A fierce rage surged within him, and a streak of red lightning flashed in his eyes — he'd awakened his Conqueror's Haki.

A shockwave burst out around him, instantly knocking out half of Angel Island's residents. The others were frozen in terror.

"Gum-Gum Pistol!"

Luffy appeared beside Conis, his fist covered in Haki, and punched the lightning bolt.

After a brief clash, the lightning shattered.

Meanwhile, in the Divine Palace, Enel had been watching through his Mantra, expecting to savor their terrified expressions. But instead, his senses detected an overwhelming aura that made him shudder.

"Damn it! How can a Blue Sea person possess such power? This should belong to God alone!" Enel snarled. His overconfidence wavered.

These Blue Sea ants had easily shattered both of his lightning attacks, without so much as a scratch — and that shook him.

"No matter. I'll deal with them when they arrive. I am God, after all."

Instead of taking one of the small boats, the crew brought the Merry through a nearby cloud path. Sailing away from Angel Island, they headed for the floating island — Upper Yard.

As they approached Upper Yard, they were awestruck by what they saw.

The island resembled a giant skull split in the middle, hovering above the White Sea. Its lush green forests, clear rivers, and dense vegetation formed a stark contrast to the cloud islands they had known.

The air smelled of earth and foliage, fresh and tranquil.

Birdsong, rustling leaves, and the sound of water intertwined into a natural symphony.

Unlike other cloud islands, Upper Yard felt solid beneath their feet, as though a continent had been ripped from the earth and placed in the sky.

They jumped down from the Merry.

Sanji whistled. "This place is nothing like Angel Island."

Robin crouched and scooped up a handful of soil, her expression thoughtful.

Nami noticed. "What's wrong? Something weird about the dirt?"

Robin spoke meaningfully. "It's dirt. Don't forget where we are — how can there be dirt in the sky?"

The others were stunned.

Zoro kicked the ground. The sensation beneath his foot made him frown. "Yeah. It doesn't feel like clouds."

Usopp felt it too. "You're right! Skypiea islands should be made of 'island clouds.' Why is this solid?"

Shin'ya looked around, sifting through hazy memories of his previous life. After a moment, he spoke. "This should be the Golden City that 'Liar' Norland talked about."

Chopper gaped. "No way! How could an island be moved from the sea to the sky?"

Robin smiled faintly. "It's very possible. Upper Yard could be the other half of Jaya Island. Remember, when we gathered intel, we noticed something odd — the island's shape resembles the teeth of a skull, but the skull's top half was missing."

She continued, "If we combine that with what Mont Blanc Cricket told us, then Mont Blanc Norland's records were real. The legendary Golden City, Shandora, exists — and what we're after lies beneath the golden bell."

"I don't care about any of that!" Luffy grinned. "I just want to beat up that so-called God!"

"Let's handle him first. We can investigate after," Shin'ya suggested.

He also wanted to finish this quickly — Ace had been captured, and they couldn't afford delays like in the original story. He intended to change fate.

Sanji blew a smoke ring. "Yeah, I'm itching to see if God's as tough as they say."

"Alright — let's go! We'll explore later!" Luffy declared, charging ahead toward the center of the island.
