Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Magma Without Earthquake Will Always Remain Buried.

"Fish-Man Karate!"

Even if both of them possessed strength on par with the Shichibukai, the idea of defeating a Marine Admiral was nothing more than a fool's dream.

But to help Ace see Whitebeard one last time, the only path forward was to fight for a single decisive blow.

With no surrounding water to aid him, Jinbe gathered the blood of countless fallen soldiers on the battlefield, concentrating it into a bubble around his fist.

With a strike powerful enough to shatter a Sea King, he launched a desperate attack, hoping to extinguish fire with water—and deal damage to the magma-wielding admiral.

His fist shot forward, the blood bubble spinning and expanding rapidly. It released a force akin to a battleship cannon, engulfing Akainu completely.

The massive blast tore through the battlefield for nearly a kilometer, carving a hundred-meter-wide trench in its wake.

"…Disgusting eyesores. Such peace is intolerable."

As the water vapor faded, cracks spread across the ravine, and molten magma surged from beneath the earth.

The elemental form of Akainu seeped through the cracks, pooling back together before reforming into his human shape.

He squinted at the two weary opponents—Ace and Jinbe—his face, carved with hard, stone-like wrinkles, filled with killing intent.

"Gunwave!"

"Wall of Fire!"

Unable to get close to the intense heat radiating from the magma, Ace and Jinbe launched simultaneous attacks, each firing bullets of flame and water toward Akainu.

Suddenly, a massive arc of sword aura roared in from the side, slicing through the blasts of fire and water, erasing them entirely.

Hawk-Eye Mihawk had arrived.

Behind him came Donquixote Doflamingo, striding forward with his signature swagger.

"The remnants of Whitebeard's crew are retreating, yet you've returned to die? Allow me to personally extinguish the last flame of the old era."

"Fufufufu… You don't know? Whitebeard is already dead!"

Doflamingo's maniacal laughter hit Ace like a punch to the gut.

What had started as a nagging sense of dread was confirmed by Doflamingo's words, and Ace's emotional defenses began to crack.

"Don't listen to him, Ace! They're just trying to break your spirit!"

Though Jinbe was shaken as well, he did his best to ground Ace. As an elder and comrade, he tried to keep his partner's mind focused.

But the situation was grim. Even one Admiral was enough to kill them in moments.

Now, with two more Warlords on the field, there was little hope of survival—let alone verifying Whitebeard's fate.

Just as Mihawk raised his black blade and Doflamingo curled his fingers to launch an attack—

A sharp gunshot pierced the air. Doflamingo's grin froze mid-smile.

At the same moment, the world's strongest slash was intercepted mid-air—by a blur of motion drawing his sword.

"Rain of Hiru?!"

Akainu narrowed his eyes, surprised—not by the cursed blade capable of stopping Mihawk's strike—but by the man approaching behind it.

The one who had recently inflicted serious injury upon him—Iggy.

Flanking Iggy were "Champion" Burgess, "Crescent Moon Hunter" Catarina Devon, and Van Augur, who had just shot through Doflamingo's threads with pinpoint precision.

"You… you're Marshall D. Teach's people! And the Level 6 escapees from Impel Down… Blackbeard's crew!?"

Akainu scanned the group, mentally calculating their strength, and locked eyes with the Avenger—Iggy.

Clearly, Blackbeard's former crewmates weren't just scattered. Judging from the formation, they had rallied behind this one man.

Under Iggy's leadership, these dangerous individuals were clearly aligned with Ace… which made things far more complicated.

"I cleaned up the traitor Teach and a few of the escapees. Just doing the Navy a favor—gathering up the rest of the trash."

Though Iggy's words were addressed to the admiral, they were meant for Ace.

After all, it was Ace's pursuit of Teach that triggered this entire war. Iggy knew his brother carried that burden heavily.

Now that Teach was dead, perhaps Ace could finally lay down some of that weight—and accept the harsh truth of Whitebeard's fate.

That acceptance was essential for the Avengers' next move.

"What is your objective!?" Akainu demanded.

Iggy's actions had, once again, blocked the Navy's chance to execute Ace. Yet, killing Teach and other defectors made it seem like he was siding with justice.

It didn't add up.

The Avengers always seemed to move spontaneously—but things always turned out in their favor. Suspiciously so.

What Akainu didn't realize was—Iggy stood alone. His allies were merely tools. He owed loyalty to no one.

"My objective?"

The Avenger raised his hand. Wisps of black mist curled in his palm, twisting and coiling into an inky darkness.

"…You're not worthy of knowing."

With that, Iggy dashed toward Akainu, unleashing a flurry of black tendrils from his left hand.

Akainu struck fast, swinging a magma-cloaked fist to incinerate over a dozen tendrils on impact. The severed shadows burned and vanished into the air.

But the darkness from Iggy's palm grew faster—multiplying like a wild vine. Dozens more tendrils lashed forward, binding Akainu's limbs.

The magma was smothered, and the Admiral's power began to wane.

"Guh!"

His previously fractured ribs began to cave further under the tightening force. Akainu grunted in pain.

He tried to coat himself in Armament Haki to break free—but Iggy was already in front of him.

A white glow shone in Iggy's right hand.

In mere seconds, the Admiral's lava-based powers had been drained. He could no longer turn into magma.

BOOM!

Iggy's punch landed squarely on Akainu's jaw, supercharged by the force of vibration—amplified thousands of times over.

"ARGHHH!"

The impact shattered Akainu's jaw, launching him into the sky. His neck snapped with a crack, his head twisting at a sickening angle.

Cracks spiderwebbed out from the point of impact, and a sonic boom tore through the air.

There was no chance to escape via elemental form. The force rippled through his body, brutally tearing him apart.

Flesh, bone, and molten muscle exploded midair, suspended like grotesque artwork on display.

Blood spattered across Iggy's face, and the sight of the carnage sent a thrill of satisfaction through him.

"Magma without earthquakes… will always remain buried."
