Chapter 157: Incarnation of the Devil (Subscribe Please)

In the short few seconds when Song Mingyuan froze due to his trypophobia attack, a fierce metallic sonata had already played for him. The metallic storm, whose capabilities had been further enhanced after a night of battle with the cooperation of Engineer Li and the system, demonstrated its full power today. In just a dozen or so seconds, tens of thousands of bullets rained on Song Mingyuan, directly shattering his lightning body armor and blasting him away.

Standing at a distance, Hu Wenjun was also astonished by the scene. Despite having received reports about the battle that night, witnessing such powerful firepower firsthand was quite shocking. If such firepower were directed at him without activating his defensive abilities, he might be wiped out without a trace. It's hard to believe that the young person who had been so scared half a year ago with just a slam of the table had grown to this extent.

However, today's surprises for him did not end there. Song Mingyuan, who he thought would be lucky just to survive such an attack, staggered and stood up again after falling!

However, the blue lightning on his body was almost completely dissipated, replaced by black gas pouring out from his back and engulfing his body.

"Ah! Ah! Ah!" Song Mingyuan held his head with both hands, kneeling on the ground and letting out a blood-curdling scream!

Pei Yan, already impatient with the battle, found the opponent's ability to move quickly and erratically to be quite troublesome. Although he wasn't afraid himself, he would truly regret it if his good friend were hurt. With this thought, he quickly stepped forward and kicked Song Mingyuan over, preparing to put the confinement ring on him.

As he pinned one of Song Mingyuan's hands to summon the confinement ring, the pupils in Song Mingyuan's eyes gradually lost focus, replaced by a strange fire that suddenly ignited in his eye sockets. The next moment, he opened his mouth wide, and scorching flames roared out toward Pei Yan's head.

"Pei Yan!" Hu Wenjun shouted in alarm upon seeing the danger. As he moved a few steps forward, he saw Pei Yan extending his hand out from within the flames, signaling him to stay back.

Then, two iron fists frenziedly hammered down on Song Mingyuan's now deformed monster face. Each swing of the fist kicked up a small cloud of dust that invaded the opponent's nostrils. After more than twenty punches, Song Mingyuan could no longer withstand the blows and closed his mouth. When the smoke cleared, only a thick, glowing steel plate burned to red was left rising before Pei Yan's face.

Seeing Song Mingyuan close his mouth, Pei Yan had no intention of letting him off easily. Without retracting the makeshift armor, he crouched down and pressed his face directly against Song Mingyuan's chest, pinning the scorching steel plate firmly against his exposed skin.

"Ugh-ah ugh-ah!!" Song Mingyuan's throat no longer emitted human sounds, only demonic roars. Pei Yan didn't know where the opponent's tremendous strength came from, as he used his feet to push against Pei Yan's belly and kicked him away.

When Pei Yan sprang back onto his feet, Song Mingyuan had completely transformed into another form. His body remained tall, but the electric light on him had vanished. His cracked skin sprouted pieces of nauseating scales, and the two horns that were merely manifestations of electricity were gone, replaced by two curving, tangible ram's horns protruding from his head.

"What the hell is this?" Pei Yan exclaimed in surprise. This was clearly different from the ability Song Mingyuan previously displayed. Could he be a naturally born dual-ability user?

"His consciousness is no longer under his own control. If I'm not mistaken, this must be a technique from the Magic Realm! Everyone, attack together and subdue him first! Then we'll figure out what to do!" Hu Wenjun commanded loudly. Ye Jiumu and the others, who were already ready for battle, charged forward.

At this moment, the demonized Song Mingyuan clutched his throat in agony, kneeling on the ground and retching ceaselessly. After a while, he lifted his head with difficulty, the flames in his eyes gradually receding, human eyes reappearing, as he asked haltingly, "What have you done to my body?"

"Not much, just left a little something inside you while punching." Pei Yan gently twirled his fingers, controlling the nanobots inside Song Mingyuan to cause appropriate damage, casually explaining.

If he remained in his electric state, it was harder for the nanobots to enter his body. Who knew that after transforming into this ghostly form, it presented Pei Yan with an opportunity.

"Thank you!" Song Mingyuan inexplicably expressed his gratitude. His body went limp and collapsed; the demonic form could no longer be sustained, gradually shrinking back down. When his body returned to its human state, his mouth opened, and the black demonic pendant turned blood-red as it was expelled.

Pei Yan also shrunk his mechanical body, cautiously approached, and finding Song Mingyuan truly unconscious, placed the confinement ring on him. He then took a piece of clothing out of his storage ring and draped it over Song Mingyuan's private area, puzzled, "Thank me for what?"

"He definitely thanked you because if you hadn't subdued him in time, allowing him to continue demonizing, his soul might have been completely extinguished. By that time, even if we defeated the demon, he'd have become an idiot," Hu Wenjun said as he walked forward, crouched to pick up the red demon pendant, and examined it momentarily before carefully placing it into a small box from his storage ring.

Pei Yan and Wang Wenze approached out of curiosity and asked, "Captain Hu, what is this thing?"

"Kids shouldn't ask too many questions. This doesn't look like it's from the Daoist Realm; it should be something from the Magic Realm. I can't say for sure. It seems that the Song Mingyuan dormitory murder case isn't so simple. Take this thing and that bizarre array pattern back to the bureau and have the Magic Department examine them carefully!" Hu Wenjun returned the box to his storage ring, pushed aside the curious group, and pointed at the unconscious Song Mingyuan on the ground, "Who has extra clothes to put on him?"

"Captain Hu, is all that necessary? Just throw some underwear on him and take him away." Wang Wenze kicked Song Mingyuan disdainfully and said.

"You've been in the bureau for several years now and why do you talk without thinking? There are spectators all over downstairs who saw you bring an almost naked suspect down. How do you expect the head of this household to live thereafter? Words travel fast. Don't you understand this basic principle?" Hu Wenjun glared at Wang Wenze and scolded angrily.

"Alright, got it!" Wang Wenze admitted his mistake and nodded, then looked at the three girls who had exited the Jiezhi Space. He could only turn to the remaining two men, "Brothers, see who can lend a hand!"

A flash of light restored Pei Yan to his physical state, changing into pants. While picking up the previously discarded shirt and police uniform from the ground to put on, he feigned exhaustion, saying, "Wow, I exerted myself the most in this battle, fighting beyond my level is exhausting. Oh, I am so tired, I need to rest." Before he finished speaking, seeing Wang Wenze about to kick his butt, he quickly dodged and dashed out of Jiezhi Space.

Seeing one escape, Wang Wenze grabbed the fleeing Ye Jiumu. Unable to escape, Ye Jiumu sighed, "At crucial times, it's up to me. Told you that kid Pei Yan couldn't be relied on. I'll handle lifting his legs; putting on the underwear is up to you. Brother, this is all I can do."

"That's more like it!"
