The first thing I noticed, after stepping out, was the faint barrier i saw earlier, representing a sort of perimeter for, I would guess, a safe zone maybe.

True to my thoughts, after leaving the property, there was some sort of holographic lock that opened.

After touching it, it closed again...guess it's like locking the house when going out.. neet.

Exploring a bit I heard the pitter patter sound of small things running around, and turning in that direction I found...

Walkatrouts.. a few dozen...FCKING...WALKATROUTS...

"Sigh, let's get this over with"

Running towards them, I didn't hesitate and started swinging my arm around, cleaving through the hoard quite easily..

Despite them being immune to regular blades due to their slippery skin, I wasn't holding a regular blade, as I modified it exactly for this kind of situation.

You might be wondering why I seemed so nonchalant about killing... well after using my brain to analyze the circumstances, and noticing their behavioral patterns,I deduced that they weren't real living being.

And Despite freezing for a millisecond from the sight of blood, my super brain helped me in that instant, process my feelings deal with fear and anxiety, and then just accept them, move on and get used to it .. all I have to say is, galvans for the win.

(A/N Seriously, this is so op, I mean wtf.)

I was graceful or skillful, I just swung blindly..BUT.

After each movement, each slash, each enemy, my actions slowly became more efficient, I found a rythme and fought more fluidly...my brain was...again..analyzing and improving what I was doing..

I mean I knew on an intellectual level, that this was normal..but hell yeah.. that was really amazing.

Finishing of the last of my enemies, I was breathing hard, sweating and exhausted.. then in a blink, I found myself back in front of the lock pad of the house as if I was teleported behind the safety of the barrier.

[Host, there can randomly be between 10 to 20 waves on each run you take, the numbers, as well as variety are random as well, this first wave was simply to initiate and show you the ropes as it is your first time]

[Be warned that the next waves will not be as direct or simple as a few dozen of the same species]

'Huh, guess I should have waited a bit before taking this first step..sigh I wasn't ready'

After catching my breath, I looked for my rewards in the inventory.

"System, what's the 'essence' about?"

[Host possess the skill , as a result, the 'essence' is the product of that skill]

[The essence can give from 1% to 100% of an opponent's ability, depending on the scale of power of said abilities]

[For instance, if host defeat a galvan, the essence would give you :

1- 50%~75% opponent intellect (high tier)

2-5%~8% opponent strength and speed (medium tier)

3-0,5%~1% rest of opponent abilities (common or low tier)]

[In addition, the skill allows host genes and body to seamlessly adapt to the changes without adverse side effects, changes to host appearance can also be freely controlled, such as choosing to have wings or size manipulation, you will however not be able to fly if your aquired flight involves wings for example.]

I quickly absorbed the 12 essences and focused on myself.. I was honestly impressed.. despite the low gains, it felt amazing, my whole being was empowered and I felt invincible..It only lasted a second but that's really what I felt and that's absorbing what could be considered the arguably weakest race in the universe.

Grinning like a lune, I kept imagining all the things I could do, and that's when a thought came to me..

"System.. what would happen if I defeated, say...a Celestialsapien ?"

[As a punishment for being too arrogant, I was ordered to skip the waves of 'easy mode' with all the essences and rewards you could have gained, and go directly to the Boss fight.]

NO..NO..NONONONONO.

Why.. why NOW!!

Some might say 'but that's just the easy mode, why so dramatic ?'.. and to you simple minded fools I say IT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT!!

As my starting point, every drop of easy power up...no matter how small... could SAVE MY LIFE!!

Right now, the 12 essences I just absorbed brought my body from the strength of an 8 year old (due to galvan boost) to that of an 11 year old....and that's from WALKATROUTS.

My panick, despair, self blame, self reflection and acceptance lasted all of 2 seconds.. which was extremely long considering I adapted to first kill in a fraction of that time..

After listening to the advice, and realizing my mistakes... I couldn't help comparing myself to an osmosian.

I was becoming and addict and only realized it after reflecting... this might have been a blessing in disguise, but right now, I was emotionally exhausted and decided to call it a day..

'I'll worry about it when I wake up' I thought, entering the house and settling in my bed without even taking off my blood stained clothes.

The last thought on my mind was about the book I got as a reward, and a small smile appeared before I fell asleep.
