Passerby Villain In A Wizard World

Chapter 206: No Need For Your Presence

It was true that erasing the soul contract was a somewhat overpowered skill Ulthera had encountered in Ian, especially when he was so weak.

But she didn't think much of it, as he was the one who had invited her out of that Graveyard just by recalling her name.

Still, hearing his threatening words regarding that bead, she genuinely became amused and laughed a little at his naivety.

'Uhum... Cough... kid, do you know what that is?'

However, even as she laughed, she found that Ian was weirdly silent, as if he didn't care about her mocking at all.

So, she could only restrain herself and ask, as she was really curious if he even knew what that was.

'Of course, I know. Isn't it an Abyssal Seed? Hmm... it seems like only a tiny fragment. Is this yours?'

Ian truly didn't mind Ulthera's laughter, as he was busy contemplating the bead he had just discovered.

Although the shape of the bead was tiny and wasn't similar to anything he had seen before, the aura he felt and the color of it were similar to the Runeheart Stone he had.

In fact, he already had some guesses about it after seeing Aurora suddenly become a First-Class Wizard Apprentice.

After all, Ulthera was a Monarch, even if she had fallen, and an Abyssal Seed was a perfect substitute for Aurora's situation.

And from his guess, her VoidBorn physique might also be related to it, although he didn't know how.

'Is this how you allowed her to practice? Hmm... truly a big investment, if I must say.'

He then added, as if genuinely curious, his pupil-less eyes fixated on the bead suspended by the black threads right next to Aurora's soul.

'So, you know, huh.'

The voice wasn't surprised and took it for granted. After all, Ian was so weird in her vision that she couldn't describe his existence even after living for so long.

'Yes, as you guessed, it is indeed an Abyssal Seed. I lent it to her in return for some condition. Don't worry, it will not harm her.'

The voice confirmed, reassured Ian, and then asked in doubt,

'You know what it is and still threaten me with erasing it from existence?'

After all, if he knew what it was, why was he foolishly amusing her?

'I was just checking. But I'm curious: why is it impossible to destroy? After all, it is just a fragment anyhow and seems weak.'

Ian asked once again while grabbing Aurora in his arms, who suddenly became sluggish after being exposed to his vision for too long.

Even when he controlled his power, it still seemed to have managed to affect her, somehow causing her to become limp, almost unconscious.

'Of course, you cannot erase it like that soul contract. After all, the Abyssal Seed in itself is the manifestation of a Rule. How can it disappear just like that? It is a special existence that couldn't be destroyed by anyone.'

Ulthera scoffed at Ian's whimsical thought. Ian was sure that if she were present, he might see her rolling her eyes in speechlessness.

'If I guessed correctly, the power you just used must be some kind of Rule, right? Are you perhaps in possession of a soul-related Rule?'

'Hm... I think that's why you can so easily erase that contract.'

Then she guessed his power with her available knowledge and continued without waiting for his reply,

'But now that you know what allows Aurora to practice, I really think you should stop erasing that contract. Without it, the Abyssal Seed will just disappear, and she will return to the same state as before.'

'Hm... you are right.'

Ian nodded in agreement, as he could see that after the sigil's existence was jeopardized, the bead began to move on its own, no longer adhering to Aurora and helping her as before.

But one thing Ulthera was wrong about was that he didn't feel it could escape his gaze.

Instead, he felt that if he wanted, he could erase that fragment of the Abyssal Seed, too, just like that contract and the weak soul.

What manifestation of a Rule?

What a special existence that couldn't be destroyed by anyone?

In his gaze, it appeared the same, just like that weak soul, ready to be puffed into smoke as long as he willed it.

Of course, if he truly did that, he was sure that before that Abyssal Seed disappeared, he would probably be exhausted to death.

Still, it was nice to know that such a possibility existed, contrary to the Monarch's knowledge.

'This is getting more and more interesting! Really... what are you?'

Ian gave a brief glance at his anchor, which was now silently floating in the void of his consciousness, totally unremarkable. Even now, he still couldn't see the other structures of his anchor besides the cocoon.

But he felt that, as he got closer and closer to the First Ring Wizard, the cocoon was becoming more and more reactive, as if it was about to be born.

'So? Why don't you stop and let her be as she is?'

While he was musing over things, Ulthera finally seemed to have relaxed a little and quickly persuaded Ian to stop before he changed his mind.

However, today, she was destined to be disappointed, as what Ian said next made her heart skip a beat—if she had one to begin with.

'You are indeed right that for her to practice, the connection between the Sigil of Soul Contract and the Abyssal Seed must be maintained. But...'

Ian suddenly stopped looking at the Abyssal Seed and directly looked at the black threads coiling around the entire structure, smirking.

'...you forgot that there is no need for your presence here.'

'Swish!'

As soon as his words were finished, once again, he used his power in full, causing the dark threads around to rapidly melt, dissolving into nothingness like ink washed away by a storm, exposing the sigil and bead in the soul.

'What... are you crazy?'
