Percy Jackson and the Art of Gacha

Chapter 13: So I am suddenly adopted. What now?

"So how do we do this?" I asked the fates. They were silent for a bit before Atropos vanished.

"We will give you a bowl containing the blood of all three of us. You will have to drink it and then the adoption will happen on its own." Clotho said and Lachesis continued.

"But it might get a bit painfully after all you are adding more divine blood to yourself."

Yeah, after hearing that I wasn't as eager to be adopted as before.

But I also accepted that this was unavoidable. So I asked the most important question of all.

"Will I at least get powers related to you once this is done?" I questioned them with hope in my eyes.

"No, at least not for now. You will develop a sharpened instinct allowing you to keep this school year as we planned it to be. Once your father claims you, your demigod powers will awaken. But until then you will only be able to do minor things with them." said Atropos who had just reappeared.

She held a normal looking wooden bowl in her hands.

Then she brought out a pair of scissors and handed them to Clotho.

Clotho used them to slice into her arm and let the blood, which was running down her arm to her fingers, flow into the bowl.

After she had healed the wound and all of the blood had flown into the bowl she passed both the scissors and the bowl to Lachesis.

She repeated what Clotho had done and handed both to Atropos who once again sliced into her arm and bleed into the bowl.

She cleaned her scissors and then all three of them gathered around the bowl. They began chanting something but it was over in a second.

They gave me the bowl.

It was filled to the brim with liquid gold, their Ichor.

"Come, drink my child." said Lachesis.

All three of the goddesses seemed to be vibrating from what I could only hope was excitement.

I lifted the bowl and drank. It tasted like metal, copper and iron to be specific.

When I wanted to put it down to catch my breath, as I wasn't finished yet, Clotho appeared behind me and pulled my head back. Atropos grabbed the bowl and lifted it while Lachesis kicked my legs from underneath me and restrained my arms.

I felt like they were trying to drown me in their blood. It took too long to drain the bowl even with the forceful help these three had decided to give me. Not that I had asked for it.

I lay there, on the floor with my new mothers standing above me, when pain, not dissimilar to when I was swimming in the Styx, rampaged through my body.

To my luck I passed out before it got any worse.

How? You may ask.

Well my lovely new mother Atropos karate chopped my neck. You gotta love the style though.

I woke up in the morning with a sore neck, obviously from the karate chop and a weird sence of something threatening coming soon. said Bucky.

You are probably right. Hey Gacha, what was that about the blacksmith workshop?

[Host, you should enter it and use it. Once host is inside you will get a mission to complete which will give you 5 more Gacha Spins.]

The feeling from before came again, this time it seemed to urge me to do it.

Deciding to not postpone before I get another visit from gods and goddesses I entered the Workshop.

[Welcome to the Workshop host. Here is a breakdown of what you can do inside.

[Here is the mission host, get to creating.]

Well, that is quite a goal you have set there System. But I will do my best to achieve it.

Let's get started.

I began with making something out of Celestial Bronze. For that I had to go to a separate room in which all the materials were placed.

I picked 5 ingots of it, equalling about 10 Kgs and place them in the hot flames.

They were a bright red almost yellow color. While the metal heated up I took a look around. The anvil and fireplace were surrounded by black bricks and tiles.

There was a glowing square behind me, opposite of the fireplace and the storage was to the left of me.

The metal was now glowing hot and had melted together but in this liquid state there was no way for me to actually make something out of it. So I lowered the temperature for a few minutes to allow it to solidify a bit.

Once it had done that I began hammering away.

My first plan was to make a sword out of it but the first try was, while successful, a bit uneven and wobbly. So I melted it down again and started to rework it.

This time I succeeded in giving it the form I wanted but I still felt that it was incomplete. After trying a few more times I realized that it was missing enchantments.

I took out the inscription pen, the grimoires and a notebook I was going to dedicate to my wards, runes and enchantments.

The form I wanted my sword to have was that of an European longsword.

I wanted to develop new enchantments for it and began brainstorming. First an enchantment that would allow for the weapon to come back to me if I ever lost it.

Then I decided to just make a list of the enchantments I wanted it to have.

1. Recall: returns the weapon to the user

2. Shield break: Breaks the defence of the opponent.

3. Enhancement: Grow stronger with every enemy slayed.

For the first and last enchantments I had realised that I had those already in the grimoires. But the second one would be difficult. I had to create something new and this would be from scratch so I had no idea how it would work out.

I got to work, trying out new materials when I realized that not every metal could hold the enchantments I wanted or that some would work better for other things.

As I worked away, creating new things and making new enchantments, my class, class skills and even my skill: Blacksmith increased in levels.

It eventually escalated when I learned that I could infuse my affinities and domains into the weapons. At the end of it, I had a lot of new things such as weapons, armors and even a few new vehicles once I had used the set: Black Mechanic.

I decided, after being satisfied with my work, that the next time I would enter this Workshop, I would create something legendary. Something that would make even the gods either tremble in fear or drool in envy.
