Chapter 271: High School Reunion
Jiang Siming heard the sound and casually glanced back, but he couldn’t move his gaze away.
Feeling Jiang Siming’s burning stare, Li Shengxue’s face turned as red as fire.
However, she mustered her courage, step by step approaching Jiang Siming. Resolutely, she raised her head, her gaze tender and filled with longing.
"I’ve always wanted to tell you... I like you. I’m leaving tomorrow... I don’t know when I’ll be back, so... could you... make me yours?"
After saying this, Li Shengxue was so embarrassed that she closed her eyes, not daring to meet Jiang Siming’s gaze.
But after a long while, Li Shengxue received no response from Jiang Siming. Thinking he had rejected her, she opened her eyes in heart-wrenching pain, only to find Jiang Siming was no longer in the living room.
"Shengxue, could you bring me a towel?" Jiang Siming suddenly called out from the bathroom.
Li Shengxue turned around and saw that Jiang Siming was already completely undressed, washing himself in the shower. He was so quick that he had already washed his hair and was rinsing off.
"Why are you... taking a shower?" Li Shengxue asked in confusion, her face full of disbelief.
Without hesitation, Jiang Siming replied, "You already took a bath. If I don’t wash up, wouldn’t I seem dirty? How could I have the nerve to lie on your bed?"Li Shengxue immediately understood, covered her face, and ran to her bedroom.
After a while, she came out again, holding a dry towel and handed it to Jiang Siming.
"Why... are you so fast at showering?" Li Shengxue realized that while she was fetching the towel, Jiang Siming had already finished, taking the towel and beginning to dry his hair.
"How could I not be quick? Every moment of a spring night is worth a thousand gold."
Jiang Siming said this, threw the towel back into the bathroom, and rushed out to carry Li Shengxue into the bedroom.
...
The next morning at dawn, Jiang Siming walked out of Li Shengxue’s fragrant room, finding the house already empty.
On the table, there was breakfast and a letter full of heartfelt words Li Shengxue had written to him.
The handwriting was delicate, and the paper carried tear stains, suggesting that Li Shengxue had cried when she left.
In truth, Jiang Siming had already known she was awake, but he understood that parting was inevitable. If he got up, it would only make it harder for her to leave.
It was better to pretend to be asleep, giving her a little space to cope.
Knowing Li Shengxue had already left, Jiang Siming tidied up the room. However, the blood-stained bedsheet from the night before seemed to have been secretly taken away by Li Shengxue.
After tidying up the room, Jiang Siming locked the door and left. Before leaving, Li Shengxue had even left him a house key, clearly treating him as someone she deeply cherished.
"Ah! I forgot to tell her to take the elixirs!" Jiang Siming slapped his thigh in frustration. The joy of the night before had made him forget.
Jiang Siming wanted to call her, but her phone was already turned off, likely because she was on the plane. Once she arrived in Beijing, her phone would probably be under someone else’s control, and he would have to wait for her to contact him.
"Hopefully, she really takes those elixirs," Jiang Siming sighed, knowing there was nothing more he could do for now.
When he walked out of the apartment, the same aunt was still there. She greeted Jiang Siming warmly but then gave him a serious warning.
"Young man, I see Xiaoxue as my own daughter. I bless your relationship, but if you ever wrong her, don’t blame me, Aunt Meng, for not letting you off!"
Jiang Siming nodded seriously and said, "Don’t worry, Aunt Meng. I’ll always remember that."
"You’re such a sensible young man. Alright, off you go then," Aunt Meng said with a smile.
Jiang Siming bid her farewell and left the police apartment.
As night fell.
At a fairly nice restaurant in Shanghai, a group of young men and women stood outside, eagerly waiting for someone important to arrive.
"Why isn’t the class monitor here yet?"
"I don’t know. Maybe they’re stuck in traffic."
"I heard Sakura got a new Jaguar worth 1.5 million yuan. So rich."
"Back in school, I was closest to the class monitor. I was her best male friend!"
"I even had a crush on the class monitor, but I just didn’t dare to confess."
These people are Jiang Siming and Li Yingzi’s high school classmates, former peers from the same class.
Most of them work in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region, though some are in Guangdong or Beijing.
Those who could make it all came, except for those who were too busy with work or, like Jiang Siming in the past, felt they hadn’t achieved much and were too ashamed to show up.
Even so, about thirty people gathered, which was quite a lot.
In previous reunions, only a dozen or so would come, but this year, after hearing that Li Yingzi had risen to a prominent position, the attendance doubled—quite an interesting phenomenon.
The ones standing outside were mostly men, all dressed neatly; at worst, they wore modest suits from Hai Lan’s Home.
Some even had shiny car keys hanging from their waists, flashing conspicuously in the open, catching the eye.
"Hey, Fatty, your suit must be from Aobao Fani, right? It costs at least five thousand, doesn’t it?"
"It’s okay, not as flashy as you, Er Gou. Didn’t you buy a VW Teramont this year? That car costs over three hundred thousand, right?"
"Not that much. Most of it came from my wife’s family. I’m struggling with the car loan now. How could I compare with the class monitor?"
"I heard the class monitor mention in the group chat that Jiang Siming would come to this reunion."
"Jiang Siming? That name sounds so familiar. Isn’t there a super popular streamer recently by that name? Earned a billion in one night!"
"It’s just the same name. Jiang Siming is our classmate, remember? He used to be considered the most handsome guy in school by some of the silly girls in our class."
"Oh, it’s him. How’s he doing now?"
"Not great, from what I’ve heard. Didn’t Dajun say at the last reunion a couple of years ago that he even borrowed five hundred yuan from him? Is that true, Dajun?"
"Haha, yeah! I blocked him immediately, thought he was a scammer. I mean, how broke must you be to need five hundred yuan? A single foot massage costs me over a thousand!"
*Hahaha!* The group of men burst into laughter.
While they were having a good time chatting, a figure unfamiliar to them walked over.
Although the person seemed unfamiliar, there was something oddly familiar about him, as if they’d seen him somewhere before.
Moreover, his physique and looks were stunning enough to make them feel utterly insignificant.
They assumed he was some celebrity they hadn’t met before.
The man approached them and asked, "Excuse me, could you tell me where the room for Nantian High School’s 12th-year reunion is?"
"Uh... it’s on the third floor, in the Yaxuan room," someone answered.
"Thank you." After asking, he headed toward the restaurant.
"Hey, bro, are you the husband of one of our female classmates?" Dajun called out to Jiang Siming, assuming he must be someone’s spouse.
The man turned around and, with an expressionless look, replied, "I’m Jiang Siming."

After saying that, Jiang Siming turned and walked into the restaurant.
The group was left standing there, their eyes wide with shock.
