Pokémon Adventures: GAMER PATH

Chapter 200: Growth [Bonus]

~Azure S. POV~

[Kanto Region, Weeks Later, Pallet Town – Oak's Lab]

After doing a series of tests and possible studies of Mega Evolution with the Pokémon that I currently own, we finished up researching them as promised. It took a lot longer than I expected, but at the very least, the job was done for now.

Over the course of the last few weeks, I've made some calls that helped create the evolutionary items for Magmar and Electabuzz. Getting endorsed by Silph Co., I've helped recreate the items Electirizer and Magmarizer in the world.

Using the ones I've collected from Johto and using my Arc Phone as my base. I created these items.

The people of Silph Co. were ecstatic with the idea, along with Prof. Oak showing two Kanto Pokémon forms evolving further beyond. And of course, I get a share of the profits, contributing to this.

But with my good relationship with Silph Co., I've gotten a 5% Profit Share on the evolution items of Electirizer and Magmarizer for trainers who use them. Not gonna lie, it made me very happy doing it.

Still, though, I'm currently finishing up downloading the new move to Silph Co as I turned my attention to my Pokémon playing around. Of course, I paid great attention to the newest member of our rotation.

Deino. The Irate Pokémon.

Deino is a small blue quadrupedal Pokémon with black fur covering its head and neck, concealing everything but its mouth from view. The fur around its neck also has six purple spots encircling it, which resemble bruises.

The hair on the top of its head takes the shape of a single small horn. It also has a short tail that appears to be bitten off. Deino's body is covered in wounds.

Currently, it's playing with the other baby Pokémon along with Gible, who seems to be enjoying the company. Pikachu and Eevee are asleep, and Celebi is playfully overwatching the Baby Pokémon.

Marshadow resides at a distance, overseeing them. I sighed helplessly as I checked my Arc Phone for Deino's status and info.

[Deino the Irate Pokémon. As Deino is blind, it figures out its surroundings by ramming and biting. It primarily lives in caves with abundant water sources but few food sources, so it will eat anything that moves, and memorizes the scents of its favorite things that it has tasted. It has the vigor and energy to bite constantly, making it dangerous to approach without taking precautions. Deino may rear up on its hind legs when happy.]

|Name: Deino (Irate Pokémon)

|Type: Dark/Dragon

|Level: 5

|Gender: Male

|Held Item: None

|Ability: Hustle

|Nature: Bashful

|Moves: Headbutt [A][S], Bite [A][S], Dragon Rage [A][S], Dragon Breath [A][S], Dark Pulse [A][S] (IM), Assurance [A][S] (EM) (1 Moves left to learn)

Yeah, I now own a Deino. Even trained the little fella once he stopped biting me once he was born, which was an experience…

Fortunately for me, I have my Pokémon to keep him in check, and Prof. Oak is ecstatic seeing the Unovan Pokémon Pseudo-Legendary Deino. I chuckled to myself as I started using people's slang terms for them.

But raising a Deino is going to be a challenge. It will evolve into Zweilous at Lv. 50 and a Hydreigon at Lv. 64, which might take years to reach once a Pokémon reaches the level 60 range, making the growth rate slow.

Training him is going to take some time. But he wasn't the only Pokémon that improved, though. I've also given Silph Co. the data needed to finally evolve Porygon into Porygon 2, creating the [Upgrade] item.

Floating above my head is my Porygon 2. Porygon2 is a rounded, magenta, artificial Pokémon that shows similarities to a drinking bird. It has a relatively flat bill and large, round eyes. Its legs are simple ovoid growths along its sides, and its tail widens towards the middle. Its bill, legs, tail, and underside are blue.

For now, I'm having Porygon 2 help me collect data easily and evolve its processing power in the process, thanks to the info provided by my Arc Phone. Although it did leave some effects on its strength once it evolved after downloading the upgrade.

Checking my Arc Phone, I could only sigh in defeat. It wasn't intentional, but it seems like when a Porygon uses an Upgrade, it changes them.

[Porygon 2, the Virtual Pokémon. Porygon2's Evolution from Porygon was the result of it being upgraded from the most cutting-edge technology available. It was upgraded to work in space for planetary development reasons, although its inability to fly limits this ability.

It is artificially intelligent and capable of learning new behaviors on its own, including information it does not need to know. It can also speak a strange language that only other Porygon2 can understand. As a result, it will sometimes perform motions or abilities that are not in its programming.

It is generally found in computers or in labs and other buildings where people work. It can survive in a space vacuum, though it cannot move very well in zero gravity. In ancient Hisui, people were confused about Porygon2 and its evolutionary relatives due to them arriving through space-time distortions and being the product of far more advanced technology than what was available at the time.]

|Name: Porygon 2 (Virtual Pokémon)

|Type: Normal

|Level: 20

|Gender: Genderless

|Held Item: None

|Ability: Analytic (Hidden Ability)

|Nature: Timid

|Moves: Conversion 2, Agility, Recover, Recycle, Discharge [A][S], Lock-On, Zap Cannon [A][S], Hyper Beam [A][S], Psybeam [A][S], Swift [A][S] (TM), Shadow Ball [A][S] (TM), Psychic [A][S] (TM), Thunder Bolt [A][S](TM), Ice Beam [A][S] (TM), Gravity (TM), Magnet Rise (IM), Conversion (IM), Sharpen (IM), Tri Attack [A][S] (IM) (0 Moves to learn left)

Yeah, having the upgraded version of Porygon2 is great and all, but because its data evolving meant resetting its level. But there was a good side to this, however, as it evolved in gained Inherent Moves from its previous form as Porygon.

The Magnet Rise, Conversion, Sharpen, and Tri Attack were moves that my previous Porygon had before evolving it into Porygon2. It's something that Silph Co. noticed and tried to understand why.

Either way, with Porygon2's evolution, searching cyberspace is a lot easier with it around. It wasn't the only one to fully evolve, though…

Turning my head around, I heard a familiar cry, "Bliss! Blissy!"

I smiled as I've finally evolved my Chansey into a Blissey. The Happiness Pokémon.

Blissey is a Pokémon that has a large, ovoid body with a pink upper body and white lower body. It has hair-like curls on either side of its head. White, wing-like tufts grow from its hips and shoulders, creating the impression of a dress.

Its stubby arms and feet are pink and lack any digits. A small, pink pouch on its belly holds a single egg, which brings feelings of happiness and makes a person pleasant and caring if ingested.

Currently, she's helping the Baby Pokémon out while handing everyone they're snacks. Next to Ursaring, she's the caretaker around here in Oaks' lab along with Oak's own Chansey helping her out.

My Chansey took a long time to finally be calm and happy around humans. I was an exception as I saved her, but I tried my best to heighten our friendship.

But because she was owned by a Team Rocket Grunt under their abuse, it took a long time for my Chansey to open up. It made sense as her friendship or happiness levels were low, and she was slowly getting out of her shell.

That is in the past, though, as I made sure to deepen my bond with my Chansey till she finally evolved. It was a proud moment for me as I helped my Pokémon own insecurities moving forward from the past.

Opening my Arc Phone, I began to check on Blissey's info. No need to check her stats as she doesn't fight.

[Blissey the Happiness Pokémon. The egg can cause a person to start acting kindly to others and calm down even the most ferocious Pokémon. Eating a Blissey's egg is said to bring good fortune to those who have consumed it.

Blissey's egg can fetch the highest price at markets. Blissey can use its fluffy fur to sense sadness and will rush to anyone feeling sad or ill and attempt to nurse them back to health. Blissey is said to be overflowing with love.

Blissey is a female-only species with no male counterpart. An urban Pokémon, it is rarely seen in the wild. If a person or Pokémon is injured, any nearby Blissey will approach them and will wait nearby, only fleeing after they have recovered to full health.

Blissey has sometimes been observed hugging its Lucky Egg while sleeping. It is believed Blissey is possibly dreaming about tending to its egg. Blissey has four different sleep styles it sleeps in: Seated Sleep, Wobbling Sleep, Egg-Minding Sleep, and Atop-Belly Sleep.]

Cracking a smile on my face, I see Deino waddle over to me, crying out, "Deei! (Can I have upsys!)"

I chuckled lightly, holding Deino in my arms, raising him. But his arms wanted to rise higher as I said calmly to my Dragon, "No worries, my little Dragon, I promise to you now you'll rise to the skies one day."

*Chomp*

Deino didn't seem to care as he took a nibble at my arm. Flinching lightly as this would probably bruise the skin, but thankfully, Gravity Training and Blissey's eggs make me very durable.

Although when he grows up, he'll be a beast. At the very least, this little one has mentors like Dragonite, Kingdra, Weavile, and others to guide its growth, along with Gible learning from them excitedly.

But the moment to time-travel is almost here. No sooner had I thought about it than Celebi floated over to me. I asked curiously, "Celebi, do you think it's possible to time-travel to the past. To the Region of Hisui by chance?"

Celebi looked at me with a contemplative expression on its face. This was the first time I saw Celebi look that serious at my question.

Raising an eyebrow, Celebi explained to me telepathically, as it stated, 'If you wish to visit, then it's within my power. But let me warn you that any action you take in the past could affect the present, and it'll – '

But I cut Celebi off as I said with a raised eyebrow in a confused voice, "But what if I got to a parallel timeline instead of this one?"

Celebi raised its finger to explain, but paused, considering my words. The little onion head contemplated before finally answering, 'Huh… guess I didn't think of that one. But it'll take some time to find the right timeline, just give me a few days, okay?'

*Swf*

Nodding my head, I agreed as Celebi left for its time portal. I still won't get over the fact that Celebi does that.

But putting Deino down to play with the other Pokémon, I'm glad his not discouraged by his blindness, relying on his smell. Fortunately, I have Blissey and Ursaring to watch over them for the time being.

If I'm going to be traveling to the past, even in a parallel timeline, then I'll need to be on the watch for anything out of the ordinary. But then again, would I see the other Arc Phone protagonist in my trip to Hisui?

Hmm… the question would be who to bring with me to the past? I'll need to think this very carefully about planning this trip.

I've read through my Arc Phone info relating to Alpha Pokémon. From my understanding, they were the pinnacle of they're respective species' strength, which can easily reach Champion level, meaning levels between 60 – 80.

Those kinds of Pokémon would be wandering around, being highly territorial and hostile to outsiders. But it does give me a great chance to start capturing the Alpha Pokémon kids that show promise and potential, if they willingly follow.

Capturing an adult Alpha Pokémon is out of the question, as they'll not show me proper respect or won't work with me to the fullest. No, I'd rather raise one from scratch, as they'll be easier to form a bond with.

But for now I'll have to wait. Till then, I'll take the chance to chill and teach my Pokémon what to do in the meantime.
