Pokemon Battle System: I Reincarnated As A Charmander

Chapter 128: Chapter 128

Pokemon items varied greatly, with many containing substantial amounts of elemental energy to enhance move potency.

Noticing the vendor's offerings, most were quite rare, such as Poison Stings, Mystic Waters, and Black Glasses.

Lian scanned the items on the stall but found nothing particularly useful. If there had been a Life Orb or Choice Specs, it might have caught his interest, but the rest didn't impress him.

Apart from various items, the stall also displayed other goods, including what appeared to be an ordinary Pokemon egg.

Kalia glanced at these items and asked, "Sir, how much for this Miracle Seed?"

The Miracle Seed contained potent Grass-type energy, capable of amplifying Grass-type moves' effectiveness, making it ideal for Grovyle.

"Not expensive, just 500." The vendor held up one hand. Miracle Seeds were relatively common; many Grass-type Pokemon could create them using their own energy, hence the lower price.

"Please attach a chain to it," Kalia requested. Typically, such items could be secured with a cord or chain, allowing them to hang around a Pokemon's neck or other body parts without risk of loss.

"Sure thing." The vendor swiftly attached the Miracle Seed to a chain, transforming it into a necklace-like accessory.

"And there's a Pokemon egg here?" Kalia noticed a round Pokemon egg tucked away in a corner, resembling an ordinary one with no distinct features.

"Uncle, what kind of Pokemon is this egg from?" Curiosity piqued, Kalia asked, as Pokemon eggs were quite rare; they typically appeared more often at daycare centers and were seldom seen elsewhere.

"I don't know, I found it. Interested? I can sell it to you at a discount," the vendor shook his head, seeing Kalia's interest and hoping to make a sale.

"No, thank you." Kalia shook her head, unsure about purchasing without knowing the type of Pokemon; she didn't want to waste money blindly.

"How much, Uncle? I'll buy it."

A familiar voice suddenly rang out.

Kalia turned to see someone she recognized, surprised, "Julian?"

Julian smiled warmly, clearly having spotted Kalia earlier, "What a coincidence, Kalia."

"It's been so long, why haven't you returned to Pearl City?" Kalia curiously asked. Julian had arrived in Ruby City by boat some time ago, and considering the elapsed time, he should have already made it back to Falcon City.

"It's quite a long story, let's discuss it later," Julian replied. He continued negotiating with the stall owner about the Pokemon egg's price and eventually spent over seven hundred Alliance Coins to purchase it.

Holding the Pokemon egg, Julian looked satisfied as he placed it carefully into his backpack, then turned towards Kalia.

"Let's talk while walking."

As they moved away from the crowd, Kalia proactively asked, "What happened?"

"My Charmeleon has fully recovered now. Initially, I planned to return immediately, but I heard about a volcano near Ruby City, so I decided to check it out."

"You might not believe this, but at the volcano, I encountered Heatran—a legendary Pokémon! Afterwards, I noticed my Charmeleon entering the volcanic crater and staying there for extended periods."

"Charmeleon entered the volcano? What happened?" Kalia asked, surprised. Although fire elemental energy is abundant near volcanoes, it seemed unusual for Charmeleon to enter without any apparent reason.

"After Charmeleon returned from the crater, I realized it had become stronger and even learned Flamethrower. Since then, every day, Charmeleon spends time inside the volcano." Julian spoke with excitement.

"I have a feeling that my Charmeleon caught the attention of Heatran, you know, a legendary Pokémon! My Charmeleon keeps getting stronger, which is why I haven't gone back yet. I want to wait until it becomes even more powerful."

"Really? That's incredible!" Kalia exclaimed, amazed by Charmeleon's unexpected encounter with Heatran.

Lian's eyes lit up, intrigued by this opportunity and eager to give it a try himself.

After her surprise subsided, Kalia asked, "Your luck is truly remarkable, indicating high potential in your Charmeleon. May I take a look at it?"

"Certainly."

Julian took out a Poké Ball, released it, and his Charmeleon appeared on the ground. At first glance, it seemed unchanged from before, but its fiery aura had intensified significantly, reflecting a determined gaze.

Observing Julian's Charmeleon, Lian noticed an exceptionally strong concentration of fire elemental energy, with flames fiercely burning at its tail.

However, in terms of size, Lian was visibly larger, completely dominating and making Julian's Charmeleon appear almost like his junior.

"How did your Charmeleon get so big?" Julian hadn't realized earlier, but now comparing them, he was taken aback by Kalia's Charmeleon's impressive size.

"Yours isn't small either," Kalia responded. While her Charmeleon was indeed large, Julian's was also considerably bigger than average for a Charmeleon.

"How many moves does your Charmeleon know now?" Kalia asked. It was possible that entering the volcano's mouth had indeed benefited from Heatran's influence, accelerating its growth.

"Quite a few moves," Julian replied proudly. "Why don't we have our Charmeleons compete to see whose Fire-type moves are stronger? You'll find out then." He felt confident that his Charmeleon could easily win against Falcon City's gym in a challenge.

"Sounds good," Kalia agreed. "Let's head to the Pokémon Center."

Shortly after,

At the Pokémon Center's battlefield:

"The rules are clear - only Fire-type moves will be used," Julian emphasized, still fresh in memory of Kalia's prowess. In a direct battle, he doubted he could match her, but when it came to comparing their Charmeleons' Fire-type abilities, he felt highly confident.

"Agreed," Kalia nodded.

Standing on the battlefield, Lian observed Julian's self-assured demeanor and was curious to see what Fire-type moves his Charmeleon had mastered.

"Charmeleon, use Flamethrower!"

"Use Flamethrower!" Kalia and Julian commanded simultaneously.

"Your Charmeleon also knows Flamethrower?" Julian seemed genuinely surprised, as Charmeleons typically learn Flamethrower at a much later stage.

"Already mastered it," Lian responded confidently as he prepared to unleash Flamethrower, gathering flames within his mouth.

To his surprise, Julian's Charmeleon also gathered flames at a similar pace, not lagging behind.

In the next moment, both Charmeleons simultaneously released their Flamethrowers. The twin streams of fire collided fiercely, sending waves of heat radiating outward.

"How can he match my release speed?" This time, Lian was genuinely astonished. With the aid of the system, he had achieved such proficiency, yet Julian's Charmeleon managed to synchronize its attack perfectly with him, which seemed unusual.

Mastering move release speed requires extensive training, but during their brief separation, Julian's Charmeleon not only learned Flamethrower but also attained a remarkably high level of proficiency.
