Pokémon: Breeding Simulator

Chapter 229: Pokémon: Breeding Simulator [229]

A wave of dizziness washed over Elias's mind.

He struggled to stay alert, fighting back against Zoroark's illusion.

But after so many nights of falling asleep under her hypnosis, his body had long since lowered its guard to her illusions.

No matter how hard he tried to stay awake, his consciousness inevitably began to blur.

"Zoro… ark…"

Elias clawed weakly at the air, summoning the last of his strength to whisper her name.

He didn't know exactly what this foolish fox was planning, but if she truly thought she could become the next Almighty Sinnoh after this…

That could only mean—

It was bound to be incredibly dangerous.

He couldn't allow her to throw herself into harm's way.

But in the end, Zoroark didn't stop the illusion.

Elias's mind finally reached its limit.

Darkness flickered before his eyes, and when he opened them again, he was back in the Pearl Clan village he'd just left.

But this time, the camp was fully rebuilt—everything clean and orderly.

Buildings that had once existed only in his blueprints now stood real before him.

Obviously, this was an illusion—one of the future.

And Elias realized he was standing in a strange place: the very highest point in the Pearl Clan, overlooking the whole settlement below.

"Elias."

Zoroark's voice suddenly sounded from behind him.

Elias turned to see her lounging in an ornate chair, munching on berries she'd picked herself.

"See? Isn't this nice?" Zoroark stood and pressed herself close to him, her voice soft and sweet.

She pointed to the camp below.

"Here, you don't have to work yourself to exhaustion anymore."

"And you'll never have to worry about how I'm doing among humans—no one in Hisui would dare criticize the Almighty Sinnoh."

"Right?"

Zoroark coaxed him gently.

Elias sighed.

Her vision wasn't bad, really.

But the price for becoming Almighty Sinnoh was far too high.

Unfortunately, Zoroark had become completely blinded by her own certainty; she couldn't hear a word he said.

"I should never have let you use illusions to help me sleep in the first place," Elias muttered, rapping her lightly on the head.

All he wanted now was to break free of this dream as soon as possible—

And drag that fox home before she got into even more trouble.

...

After Elias lost consciousness, Zoroark deftly caught him.

She laid him down gently, breathing a soft sigh of relief.

This was the first time she'd ever really acted against Elias.

When he'd called her name, her whole body had trembled.

But in the end… nothing went too wrong.

"I'm sorry, Elias…" she whispered in his ear.

"When I succeed, I'll come back and apologize to you properly."

This was something she'd been planning for a long time.

Even if Elias disagreed, she… had to be selfish just this once.

"In the meantime, enjoy your world in the dream," she murmured, her gaze sharpening.

With that, Zoroark took a step and vanished into the trees.

---

[With you unconscious, Zoroark no longer had any hesitations.]

[Traveling at full speed, she made her way to Jubilife Village, built by the Galaxy Team.]

[The village was still scarred from two waves of Zoroark clan attacks—wounds visible even from afar.]

Zoroark narrowed her eyes at the village gates.

The defenses were tight, but for her, they were little more than a formality.

With a few agile maneuvers, she slipped past the guards and entered the Galaxy Team headquarters.

She remembered exactly where Professor Laventon's lab was, having visited with Elias before.

BANG—

She smashed the door open with a single swipe.

Laventon, who was working inside, jumped in fright, nearly dropping a glass vial.

When he saw who it was, he looked even more anxious.

Just last night, there had been a Zoroark attack…

As he was about to call for help, Zoroark waved a claw at him.

"Elias sent me for the [Origin Balls]," she stated plainly.

She had no patience to waste time anywhere right now.

"E-Elias?"

Laventon froze, then realized this Zoroark was indeed Elias's partner.

"They're ready?" Zoroark pressed, seeing his hesitation.

"Ready, yes! All done," Laventon stammered, reading her growing impatience.

But his face fell as he added, "But… you were supposed to have someone verify that relic fragment first, weren't you?"

"Until then, I really recommend you don't use the [Origin Balls]."

Ever the cautious researcher, Laventon kept his voice low.

By all accounts, the fragment was almost certainly genuine.

But Cyllene had made it clear—Elias was a vital figure, and nothing could be allowed to go wrong.

So he made sure to repeat the warning.

Zoroark didn't answer.

She walked to the bench and picked up the three blood-red balls, examining them carefully.

Meticulous craftsmanship. Excellent quality.

Most importantly—

That oppressive energy that once clung to the ore was even more intense now that it had been forged into balls.

No doubt about it: these were [Origin Balls].

Besides, Laventon had followed the instructions exactly—if the record had been wrong, the balls would never have been made.

Satisfied, Zoroark tucked the balls away.

"I'll be taking these."

And with a flash, she slipped out of the lab.

Laventon stared after her, dazed.

He couldn't shake the feeling… that he'd just made a terrible mistake.

---

[After leaving Jubilife Village, Zoroark first hurried back to where Elias had collapsed.]

[She'd left some fur on him as a marker, to keep wild Pokémon away.]

[But with dusk approaching, she couldn't bear to leave Elias alone in the wilderness.]

[She reinforced the illusion one more time, then carried him all the way back to Cogita's cabin.]

She needed to gather all the Plates they'd collected over the years—then use them to release Giratina.

Holding Elias in her arms, Zoroark pushed open the door.

She knew Cogita would demand an explanation for all this.

She'd already decided: when the time came, she'd trap Cogita in a dream too.

As payback for all the times Cogita had teased her over the years.

Maybe she'd let Cogita watch her precious flowers get eaten by a Leafeon, one by one, inside the illusion.

Thinking this, Zoroark stepped into the house.
