Chapter 236: Pokémon: Breeding Simulator [236] [100 STONES]
BOOM—!
A barrage of beams rained down upon Giratina, detonating in a series of explosive bursts.
"Roar!"
With a low growl, Giratina lost control and plummeted from the sky, crashing heavily onto the ground.
Its face twisted in pain as it realized:
Arceus intervened after all.
Yet…
Instead of panicking, Giratina felt a rush of excitement. Arceus had finally attacked—but the [Judgment] just now didn't hurt nearly as much as before.
The Plates…they really made a difference!
Perhaps this time… it truly had a chance to turn the tide.
Reinvigorated, Giratina twisted its body and rose again into the air.
"Arceus! It's useless now! Your attacks no longer have any effect on me!"
Giratina roared defiantly toward the heavens.
But as the words left its mouth, Giratina hesitated. At some point, the crack in the sky had vanished, and Arceus didn't appear as expected.
Had it…run away?
Or was its goal never to defeat Giratina directly?
Between the two possibilities, Giratina leaned toward the latter.
Because…
With shock and fury, Giratina realized that the Plates originally surrounding it had somehow drifted toward the Zoroark instead.
Threads of energy connected each Plate directly to her body, steadily causing her strength to soar with every passing second.
Clearly, this was Arceus's true aim.
Giratina felt profoundly foolish.
Meanwhile…
[This is as far as I'll go. If you still can't defeat Giratina, it'll be your own fault.]
[Additionally, once Zoroark fully controls the Plates, you won't have much time left.]
[If you have something left to say, now is the moment.]
Arceus's calm voice echoed inside Elias's mind.
What surprised Elias was that Arceus would actually remind him to say farewell to Zoroark.
It seemed this creator deity wasn't as heartless as he'd first assumed.
Oddly relieved, Elias glanced down at his hands and arms, noticing they were becoming even more transparent, faster than before.
Now, his entire body was starting to fade.
"Zoroark, can you control the Plates' power?" Elias asked softly as he approached her.
"I—I can," she replied, flexing her claws.
She had never felt strength like this before.
It was as though she had truly become the legendary creator god herself, capable of achieving anything she wished.
"Elias, thank you."
She wiped away tears, giving him a grateful look. He had given her more than she could ever repay.
"Just wait here for me. After I finish dealing with that fat centipede, I'll be right back," Zoroark said reluctantly, hugging Elias tightly.
"Be careful. Don't get hurt."
Elias gently stroked her head, cautioning warmly.
"I will."
In truth, now that she fully controlled the Plates, Giratina would struggle to even scratch her.
She had complete immunity against most attacks.
Giratina clearly realized this too. Narrowing its eyes, it refused to surrender easily.
"Arceus, are you too cowardly to face me yourself?"
"In that case… I'll finish off your chosen human first, then come find you!"
Clenching its teeth, Giratina unfurled its body.
It had no intention of fighting Zoroark directly; its target… was Elias!
Whoosh—!
With incredible speed, Giratina vanished instantly from its spot.
[Shadow Force]
Its signature move, mastered to perfection.
In the blink of an eye, Giratina's massive body appeared beside Elias, an ominous [Shadow Ball] held in its jaws, ready to slam directly into him.
But to Giratina's surprise…
The human before it showed no intent to dodge.
Even with the attack imminent, Elias remained rooted, using all his psychic power instead to restrain Giratina's movement.
Though the psychic force barely slowed Giratina, even that slight hesitation cost it dearly—
BOOM!
A powerful [Dark Pulse] from Zoroark slammed mercilessly into Giratina's face, igniting its [Shadow Ball] and throwing its massive body back violently.
"Roar!"
As Giratina reeled, a barrage of [Shadow Balls] followed immediately, exploding forcefully against its scales.
Amidst the deafening blasts, Giratina was hurled several meters away.
After absorbing power from the Plates, Zoroark's attacks finally hurt Giratina—giving it a faint taste of Arceus's strength.
But the strangest thing was that the human hadn't tried to evade. If Elias had hesitated even slightly, Giratina would have succeeded.
Did that human want to die? Giratina wondered bitterly, pain throbbing across its body.
"Elias, are you okay?" Zoroark landed and instantly shielded him, her voice full of panic.
Her joy from earlier had instantly vanished when Giratina attacked Elias directly.
Why hadn't Elias dodged? Was he too slow…or was something else wrong?
Zoroark shook her head, forcibly suppressing any negative thoughts.
Her gaze turned murderous as she faced Giratina again.
Imitating its earlier move, she vanished in a blur.
[Phantom Force]
Faster than Giratina, Zoroark landed two heavy claw strikes against its abdomen before it could react.
Fighting through the agony, Giratina quickly located Zoroark's position, launching a blazing [Dragon Pulse] at her.
The intense heat scorched the air—
But strangely, every attack curved around Zoroark harmlessly, deflected by an invisible barrier.
Giratina's expression darkened.
This feeling again…
It had felt exactly this way when facing Arceus long ago—unable even to scratch the llama despite its best efforts.
That helplessness had haunted Giratina ever since, driving it to collect the Plates in hopes of defeating Arceus one day.
Yet now, that same hopelessness surged anew against Zoroark.
It was far too late to flee.
Swish—!
Sharp claws sliced through the air, and Giratina felt its scales shatter painfully.
BOOM!
With a large chunk of scales ripped away from its abdomen, Giratina barely managed to distance itself from Zoroark.
Still, a deep slash near its eye left a stark reminder of how close it had come to losing sight in its right eye.
"Grr…"
Giratina stared at Zoroark anxiously. Continuing this battle guaranteed defeat.
After all, it couldn't even touch her; resilience alone wouldn't save it.
However…
Thanks to its vantage point high in the air, Giratina noticed something intriguing:
The human, Arceus's chosen, was clearly in bad shape.
Elias was sitting slumped against a ruined wall, looking thoroughly exhausted. If Zoroark turned around now, she'd see Elias's body had almost completely faded to translucency after that last attack.
Giratina's eyes narrowed thoughtfully.
"Heh, little fox. I concede this round."
"You've gotten strong, but…"
"I hope you can live with what you've gained."
With those cryptic words, Giratina swiftly dove into the nearby lake, retreating back into the Distortion World.
Its departure seemed to lift a heavy weight from the surroundings.
Zoroark stared blankly at where Giratina had vanished, gripping a torn piece of its scales tightly.
She had no intention of pursuing it further, despite now being strong enough to cross worlds easily.
But after everything they'd been through…
She only wanted to stay beside Elias.
