Chapter 72: Johto league Part 12
Haru looked at Ash, as he ready his first Pokémon. "So I hope you are ready".
Ash looked at Haru as he spoke. "Yeah I am, bring it on Haru".
Haru looked at Ash. "Don't get cocky, each my Pokémon can take down two of yours".
Ash looked at him as he spoke. "We will see about that, go out".
Haru then ready his first Pokémon in this 6 on 6. "Go out".
Meanwhile in the stand, Clari, Rose, Whitney and Suicune was still wearing the cheerleader outfit sent cheering Haru, as then a bolt of lighting happend as there was Raikou in her form.
Raikou sat down next to Brock as Misty. "Hey Ash your better win this, I am came in person for this".
She then looked at Diamond who was wearing a cheerleader outfit. "What is that for".
Diamond looked back at her as she spoke. "Will um, I am cheering on Ash".
Raikou snapped her finger as lighting covers her body, as she changed into a Cheer leader outfit. "Ok then I am in as well".
In the VIP room, Red, Blue and Green was also watching this, with them was Leon, who got lost trying to find where his seat was.
In the stadium as then both Haru and Ash Pokémon were sent they both came out the Pokéball, as fron Haru Pokeball came out his Scizor as form Ash came out his Hisuian Typhlosio, as the both Pokémon looked at eachother then looked back at the trainer, only to release That will Scizor was in Ash of the battle ground and Typhlosion was in Haru side, both Pokémon then quickly ran back to the trainer side with leaving a dust cloud.
Everyone in the stadium was trying there beast ro hold back there laughter as for Haru and Ash they were embarrassed
The laughter in the stadium echoed as both Scizor and Hisuian Typhlosion scurried back to their respective sides. Haru and Ash shared an awkward glance, both trying to regain their composure, though they couldn't help but chuckle at the mix-up. It was the first time in the league where a Pokémon got so confused by the other's presence.
"Well, that was... unexpected," Ash said, grinning sheepishly.
Haru laughed as he adjusted his cap. "You're not gonna let that be the highlight of the match, are you?"
"Of course not," Ash replied, trying to sound more serious. "Let's get this started properly."
The announcer's voice boomed through the stadium, "Ladies and gentlemen, the Johto League battle between Ash Ketchum and Haru has begun! Each Trainer will send out their Pokémon, and it's a six-on-six battle. The winner of this match will proceed further into the tournament! Let's see some excitement!"
Ash and Haru's eyes narrowed, both knowing this was a fight to remember.
Haru raised his hand and called out confidently, "Scizor, use X-Scissor!"
Scizor immediately leapt into the air, its claws glowing as it made a swift dive towards Ash's side.
Ash clenched his fist. "Typhlosion, use Flamethrower!"
Typhlosion's body glowed with fire as it blasted a wave of flames toward Scizor, who expertly dodged with a quick swish of its wings. The fire shot past, narrowly missing, but Scizor was forced to retreat for a moment.
Haru smirked. "Not bad, Ash, but not enough to stop Scizor."
Ash grinned back. "We'll see about that. Typhlosion, get ready to dodge and counter!"
The battle was in full swing now, both trainers pushing their Pokémon to the limit. Typhlosion's flames clashed against Scizor's precision moves as the two powerful Pokémon continued their battle, moving with unmatched speed and agility.
In the stands, the crowd was on the edge of their seats, watching the intense back-and-forth. Clari, Rose, and Whitney were on their feet, cheering loudly for Haru, their pom-poms shaking with excitement.
Suicune, still in her cheerleader form, was waving her pom-poms with enthusiasm, her tail flicking as she encouraged both trainers. "Go Haru! Go Ash!" she shouted, her voice rising above the noise of the crowd.
Raikou, now fully embraced in her cheerleader outfit, joined in. "Haru! You've got this!" She bounced lightly, her cheer radiating energy that matched the intensity of the battle below.
Diamond, caught up in the spirit, waved her pom-poms, her voice barely audible among the cheering fans. "Go Ash!" she called out, though her focus remained on the battle.
Brock and Misty stood beside her, both of them exchanging knowing smiles. "Looks like the battle's heating up," Misty remarked, her eyes locked on the battlefield.
The VIP room, meanwhile, was quieter, but the tension was palpable. Leon, still slightly disoriented from his earlier seat search, finally settled into his seat beside Red, Blue, and Green. "Is it just me, or does this battle seem like it's going to be legendary?" Leon asked, looking at Red for confirmation.
Red nodded, eyes never leaving the battle. "Ash is always full of surprises."
Green added, "Haru's no slouch either. This is going to be a close one."
Back in the arena, Ash's voice rang out. "Typhlosion, use Eruption!"
Typhlosion's flames erupted with massive intensity, a shockwave of fire filling the battlefield, forcing Scizor to retreat for cover. But Haru wasn't about to back down.
"Scizor, use Bullet Punch!" Haru commanded.
Scizor, despite the heat of the Eruption, zipped forward at lightning speed, landing a solid hit on Typhlosion before quickly retreating. The crowd gasped in awe as the momentum shifted back and forth.
Ash clenched his teeth, eyes burning with determination. "We're not done yet! Typhlosion, let's go! Use Inferno!"
Typhlosion's fiery body burned even brighter as it spun in place, creating a cyclone of fire that surrounded the battlefield. Scizor attempted to dodge, but the flames were too intense, forcing it to take shelter behind a nearby rock formation.
Haru called out, "Scizor, hang in there! We can do this!"
The crowd was in a frenzy as the battle grew more intense by the second. Ash and Haru locked eyes, both showing determination and respect for each other. They knew this was just the beginning, and the real battle was yet to come.
In the stands, Suicune turned to Raikou with a smile. "This is only the first Pokémon... Can you feel the intensity?"
Raikou grinned, a bolt of electricity flashing from her fingertips. "Oh, I definitely can. This is going to be one incredible match."
The first round was far from over. Ash and Haru knew that the rest of the battle would be just as hard-fought, but they were both ready for what was to come. The Johto League would soon witness one of the most epic battles in history.
Haru then called back Scizor. "You rest now, I will send you out next".
Haru then sent out his next Pokémon to face Ash Typhlosion, as coming out his Pokeball was his Ursaring, but something looked different it was on his four leg, a red moon was in his lead and had gray fur, many if the Gym leader were shocked and so was the Elite Four Member, at the same type Red raised an eyebrow.
Haru looked at Ash. "You have no idea how hard was to get a Modern day Ursaring to evolve".
Ash looked at his Pokédex and saw the names Ursaluna.
Ash quickly pulled out his Pokédex, scanning the new Pokémon that had emerged from Haru's Pokéball. The screen lit up, showing a detailed entry:
Ursaluna, the Stubborn Pokémon
Type: Ground / Normal
Evolution: Ursaring → Ursaluna
Ability: Unyielding - Increased resistance to status conditions during full moons.
Ash blinked in surprise. "Ursaluna? That's... wow, Haru, that's not your average Ursaring!"
Haru nodded, a smirk playing on his lips. "That's right. It took a lot of work to get this guy to evolve, and I don't think many trainers have even seen one in person. Ursaluna's a beast, and I plan on showing you why."
Ursaluna stood tall, its massive, muscular frame visible under the moonlight that bathed the stadium. The red moon-shaped marking on its forehead glowed faintly, and its gray fur seemed to shimmer with power, adding to the mystique of this evolved form.
The audience, including the Gym Leaders and Elite Four, were all in awe. "What an evolution!" Whitney whispered, her eyes wide with admiration. "I didn't think any trainer in Johto had a Modern-day Ursaluna."
Suicune, now back to her regular form, leaned over to Clari and Rose. "That Ursaluna looks strong. This battle's about to get even more intense."
Brock, on the other hand, was muttering under his breath. "So, that's what Haru's been working on… Ursaluna is a powerhouse in its own right. This is going to be a tough match for Ash."
Ash, however, wasn't backing down. He faced Haru with determination. "I don't care how strong it is. Typhlosion, let's show them what we can do! Use Flamethrower!"
Typhlosion's body flared with fire as it launched a powerful jet of flames toward Ursaluna. The flames soared across the arena, lighting up the battlefield in a fiery glow.
But Haru remained unfazed, his expression serious. "Ursaluna, Earthquake!"
With a low growl, Ursaluna stomped its feet heavily on the ground. The force of the quake shook the entire stadium, sending shockwaves rippling through the ground as the arena trembled. Typhlosion struggled to maintain its balance as the ground beneath it cracked open.
Ash gritted his teeth, shouting, "Typhlosion, jump out of the way!"
Typhlosion leapt to the side, narrowly avoiding the full brunt of the Earthquake. However, the shockwave still rocked it, and Typhlosion stumbled slightly, showing signs of fatigue.
"Looks like Typhlosion's not getting off easy," Haru said with a chuckle. "Ursaluna's tough and resilient, especially under the moon's power."
Ash wasn't about to let that discourage him. "Typhlosion, use Lava Plume!"
Typhlosion's body became engulfed in hot flames, and it unleashed an explosive plume of lava toward Ursaluna, trying to overwhelm it with fiery intensity. The attack hit, but to Ash's surprise, Ursaluna stood firm, its thick gray fur absorbing the heat without faltering. The flames seemed to dissipate around it, not doing as much damage as Ash had hoped.
"Impressive," Ash muttered under his breath. "But we'll keep pushing."
Haru's voice was calm, almost teasing. "You see, Ash, Ursaluna's Ground typing gives it great resistance to fire-based attacks. You'll need more than that to bring it down."
"Ursaluna, let's finish this," Haru called out. "Body Slam!"
With a roar, Ursaluna charged at Typhlosion, moving with surprising speed for such a massive Pokémon. Typhlosion barely had time to react as Ursaluna slammed into it with full force, sending the Hisuian Typhlosion skidding across the battlefield.
Ash quickly returned Typhlosion to its Pokéball, showing respect for the powerful hit it had just taken. "You did great, Typhlosion," he whispered, recalling his Pokémon.
"That was a tough battle," Ash said, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "But I'm just getting started."
He looked at Haru, ready to pick his next Pokémon. "Alright, let's see how you handle this! Go, Gengar!"
Haru's smirk widened. "Gengar, huh? This is going to be interesting."
As Gengar materialized, its mischievous grin sending a chill through the crowd, Ash and Haru exchanged a glance, knowing that the true test of their skills was just beginning.
In the stands, Suicune leaned forward. "This is getting good," she said, her voice full of excitement. "Ash and Haru have only just begun to show what they're capable of."
With both trainers having summoned their next fighters, the Johto League match was heating up, and the real battle between titans had only just started.
Misty then spoke from stands. "Wow wow wow, a Gengar when did you have time to Capture a Gengar".
Ash just chuckled as he spoke. "So um remember in Kanto and how kinda defeated Sabrina with that Haunter".
When Haru heard the name Sabrina, Memorys do his past life flaired, as he remembers another girl with a witch like outfit, as she was using Physic power's, as her Pokémon were by her said.
Ash then continues to explain. "And remember how it stayed with her, so I knew I need all the power to defeated Haru, so I called her and she sent but accidentally she pressed the trade button so yeah, the Haunter evolved".
Haru blinked, his mind racing for a moment as Ash's words sank in. The mention of Sabrina caused something deep within him to stir—an unsettling flash of memories that didn't quite belong to him, but felt achingly familiar. He quickly shook it off, focusing back on the present.
"Haunter, huh?" Haru smirked, trying to mask his momentary distraction. "Seems like you've got a good connection with ghost types."
Misty, still in the stands, raised an eyebrow. "Wait, Sabrina gave you her Haunter, and then accidentally traded you a Gengar? That's… unexpected."
Ash just laughed, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "Yeah, well, it wasn't exactly planned. But, hey, I guess it worked out."
Haru, though, was still processing the name Sabrina, the image of the girl in the witch-like outfit lingering in his thoughts. Another psychic type trainer... It reminded him of someone from his past life—someone with dark, mysterious power, wielding psychic abilities with ease. But before he could dive deeper into those thoughts, the match had to continue.
"So," Haru said, refocusing, "A Gengar, huh? Let's see how it handles this!"
He gave a small nod, signaling for Ursaluna to stand ready. "Ursaluna, stay sharp, we've got a tricky one now."
Ash smiled, his competitive spirit shining through. "Alright, Gengar, let's show them what we can do! Use Shadow Ball!"
Gengar's body flickered in and out of visibility as it shot forward, its glowing purple hands forming a swirling ball of shadow energy. It hurled the Shadow Ball at Ursaluna with a sinister grin, the attack crackling through the air toward its target.
Haru called out quickly, "Ursaluna, use Protect!"
Ursaluna's body radiated a barrier of energy just in time, and the Shadow Ball collided with it, dissipating harmlessly against the shield. Ursaluna grunted, but it remained firm, showing its impressive resilience.
Ash looked impressed. "Nice move, but we're not done yet! Gengar, use Sludge Bomb!"
The ghostly Pokémon quickly shifted, its eyes narrowing as it prepared another attack. Gengar spewed a blast of toxic sludge from its mouth, aiming straight at Ursaluna.
Haru, unfazed, commanded, "Ursaluna, Earthquake again!"
With another ground-shaking stomp, Ursaluna unleashed an even more intense earthquake that rumbled through the stadium, causing Gengar to lose its footing just as the sludge came dangerously close to Ursaluna. The impact of the quake sent the Sludge Bomb spinning off course, missing its target.
"Woah!" Misty exclaimed. "That was close! But look at that power, Ursaluna is too sturdy."
Brock nodded. "Ash will need a new strategy to take down a Pokémon like that."
Haru chuckled, seeing Ash's determination. "You're persistent, I'll give you that. But remember, this is just the start. You still have a long way to go before you get through my team."
Ash wasn't discouraged. "I wouldn't have it any other way!" He was excited by the challenge, his bond with his Pokémon pushing him to keep going.
Gengar, still flickering with shadows, grinned and prepared for another attack. The battle was far from over, and both trainers knew it was only going to get more intense from here. Haru's team had already shown its strength, but Ash had an ace up his sleeve, and he wasn't about to let the battle slip away so easily.
The crowd, including the Gym Leaders and Elite Four members, were on the edge of their seats, eagerly waiting to see how the rest of this epic showdown would unfold.
