Chapter 84: Ch-84
In the video:
Charizard, now fully evolved, stared at Incineroar with fierce determination.
"The horn of counterattack, blow!"
"I've said it before, weak Pokémon, even if they evolve, are still weak. Incineroar, Throat Chop!" Cross commanded, still confident.
"We can't lose to each other! Charizard, Slash!"
Incineroar's arm glowed dark purple, clashing violently with Charizard's claws, which flashed white. After evolving, Charizard's power was more ferocious than Charmeleon's ever was. The two Pokémon traded blow after blow, with Throat Chop and Slash connecting repeatedly, sending both back several meters.
"Flamethrower!" Cross ordered.
Incineroar unleashed scorching flames from its flame belt. Charizard, now able to fly, flapped its orange-red wings and soared high into the sky, avoiding the attack.
"Dragon Rage!"
Charizard instantly condensed a blazing fireball and bombarded Incineroar, dealing significant damage.
"Fire Fang!" Cross shouted anxiously.
Incineroar dropped to all fours and charged, its teeth wreathed in scorching flames, lunging toward Charizard.
But the past was the past, and this was now.
Charizard expertly avoided the attack using its flying ability, then quickly maneuvered behind Incineroar, grabbing it in a firm hold.
"Seismic Toss!"
Charizard flew into the air, spinning rapidly before viciously slamming Incineroar into the ground, causing immense damage.
"Damn it! Incineroar, Flamethrower!"
"We'll use Flamethrower too!"
The two flames collided once more, but this time, Charizard's power overwhelmed Incineroar's. The flames engulfed Incineroar, leaving it unable to continue battling.
The crowd in the Palace Gate Stadium erupted into cheers.
"Great! Charizard finally won!"
"We've beaten Cross and his Incineroar!"
"This is so exciting!"
Charizard had proven itself, reclaiming all the pride lost in previous battles.
On the top of Mount Tenqing, Ash and Pikachu walked past Cross, victorious.
"Only the winner and the trainer with the Rainbow Wing are worthy of Ho-Oh," someone commented.
However, a dramatic scene unfolded.
"I… I also met Ho-Oh!" Cross exclaimed. "But I didn't get the Rainbow Wing…"
Ash froze in shock as Cross revealed his encounter with Ho-Oh. Unwilling to accept defeat, Cross snatched the Rainbow Wing from Ash's hand.
As soon as Cross touched the Rainbow Wing, his negative emotions corrupted it, turning it into a terrifying black feather. The power within became violent, and Marshadow, Ho-Oh's messenger, reacted by commanding the blackened Pokémon to attack all humans present.
"Cross, you fool!" Professor Oak exclaimed in panic.
Cynthia assessed the situation calmly. "The only way to fix this is for Ash to reclaim the Rainbow Wing, purify it, and calm Marshadow."
Cross, now regretful, decided to fight alongside Ash. With Souji and Cross covering him, Ash and Pikachu approached Marshadow.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded.
Marshadow countered with Shadow Ball. The attacks collided in mid-air, creating a massive explosion. Pikachu bravely rushed through the smoke, but Marshadow, now enraged, entered its full-strength Contest Condition. Its eyes glowed, and green and yellow flames burned around its body.
Pikachu launched Iron Tail, but Marshadow's increased power overwhelmed it. With its exclusive Z-Move, Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike, Marshadow struck Pikachu seven times, leaving it severely injured.
The corrupted Pokémon closed in. Despite Ash's pleas, Pikachu refused to enter its Poké Ball, insisting it would always stay by Ash's side.
In a heart-wrenching moment, Ash turned to face the oncoming attacks, shielding Pikachu in his arms.
"I'm Ash from Pallet Town, and I'll become a Pokémon Master!" he declared.
The blackened Pokémon unleashed their combined attacks. Pikachu, too weak to counter, slid off Ash's shoulder. Ash caught it, bracing for impact.
The explosion engulfed them both, leaving Ash and Pikachu severely injured.
"Why won't you enter the Poké Ball?" Ash asked weakly.
Pikachu, with tears in its eyes, whispered, "Because I always want to be with you."
The Rainbow Wing, corrupted by darkness, suddenly began to glow faintly. Marshadow, momentarily distracted, paused its attack. Ash and Pikachu's unwavering bond had begun to purify the feather.
Summoning all his remaining strength, Ash stood up, holding the purified Rainbow Wing high. The light radiated across Mount Tenqing, breaking Marshadow's control over the blackened Pokémon.
Ho-Oh appeared in the sky, its radiant form dispelling the darkness completely.
In the aftermath, Cross apologized for his actions, vowing to learn from Ash's courage and compassion.
Ash placed the Rainbow Wing on Ho-Oh's altar, completing his journey. As Ho-Oh soared into the horizon, it left behind a trail of vibrant light, symbolizing hope and new beginnings.
The crowd in the Palace Gate Stadium erupted in cheers once more, celebrating Ash and Pikachu's triumph.
"Ash truly deserves to be called a Pokémon Master," Cynthia said, smiling.
The story of Ash and Pikachu's bond had inspired everyone, proving that courage, friendship, and perseverance could overcome any challenge.
