Chapter 83: Ch-83

They didn't know Marshadow, but they all understood the significance of a mythical Pokémon.

Mew from the Kanto Region.

Celebi from the Johto Region.

Jirachi from the Hoenn Region.

Darkrai and Cresselia from the Sinnoh Region.

Melmetal from the Alola Region... and now Marshadow!

These are mythical Pokémon—rare, mysterious, and powerful beings.

"So it's Marshadow? Has it been hiding in Ash's shadow all along?" Chibana asked curiously.

"That seems to be the case, but... what is Marshadow's purpose?" Cynthia wondered aloud.

Professor Oak pondered for a moment before exclaiming, "Marshadow! Oh, right... I remember reading about it in a book."

"The mythical Pokémon Marshadow guides the Rainbow Warrior to meet the legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh."

"So, Marshadow is a Pokémon of justice?" Diantha asked.

"Not necessarily," Professor Kukui replied.

"It's true that Marshadow guides the Rainbow Warrior, but if the Rainbow Warrior's heart is tainted by negative emotions, the Rainbow Feather will fade. At that point, Marshadow will deem the trainer unworthy and take action to eliminate the bearer of the corrupted Rainbow Feather."

When Professor Kukui finished, everyone looked stunned.

If there is darkness in the heart, if negative emotions take hold, the Rainbow Wing will fade, and Marshadow will rise... to cleanse the Rainbow Warrior?

"No wonder," Cynthia said thoughtfully. "When Ash was confused and overwhelmed with negative emotions in the forest, I saw a shadow. That must have been Marshadow. If Pikachu hadn't called him back to his senses, Marshadow would have stepped in."

The realization sent chills through everyone.

"Thank goodness Ash overcame his doubts. Now, all that's left is to defeat Cross, the former trainer of Charmander, and everything will be fine," Steven Stone said confidently.

As a trainer who despised the act of abandoning Pokémon, Steven deeply hoped Ash and Charmeleon would prevail.

In the Video

The battle was about to begin. Charmeleon, no longer confused, faced its former trainer with determination.

To prove itself, it rushed at Incineroar with its claws glowing white, unleashing Slash.

"Throat Chop," Cross commanded with a sneer.

Incineroar's arm glowed dark purple as it used the Dark-type move Throat Chop.

The two attacks clashed, but Charmeleon, still unevolved, was no match for Incineroar's strength and was pushed back several meters.

"Flamethrower!" Ash called out.

"We'll use Flamethrower too," Cross countered.

The two flames collided, evenly matched at first.

But Incineroar unleashed an even hotter flame from its belt, overpowering Charmeleon's attack and engulfing it in a fiery blaze.

Audience Seats

"Come on, Charmeleon!"

"You can do it! Show your courage!"

The audience could see that Charmeleon, not yet fully evolved, was outmatched by Incineroar in both speed and strength.

But despite the odds, the crowd cheered for Charmeleon, not just because they supported Ash, but because this was a battle of redemption.

Charmeleon couldn't lose to the trainer who had abandoned it.

The Video Continued

"You're so weak!" Cross mocked, smirking.

After two rounds, Charmeleon was clearly struggling. Cross taunted it, claiming that abandoning Charmeleon had been the right choice.

Unable to contain its anger, Charmeleon charged at Incineroar with all its might, managing to use Seismic Toss to hurl Incineroar several meters away.

But Incineroar, unharmed, sneered and retaliated with a devastating Flamethrower that engulfed Charmeleon.

"Charmeleon!" Ash and his friends cried out in concern.

In the flames, Charmeleon remembered the pain of being abandoned and ridiculed.

Those memories were a shadow on its life.

But it also remembered Ash's kindness and care, which had helped it bury those painful memories.

Yet burying them didn't mean forgetting.

Charmeleon's determination to defeat Incineroar burned brighter than ever.

Its belief in victory reached its peak.

"Roar!"

With a mighty roar, Charmeleon's body began to glow with a brilliant blue light.

Under the glow of evolution, Charmeleon grew taller, sprouted wings, and transformed.

As the light faded, Charizard stood tall, its powerful presence captivating trainers and audiences worldwide.

Champion Guest Seat

"Woohoo! It evolved! Charmeleon evolved!" the Dodo shouted excitedly.

"It's finally here—Charizard is ready to take on Incineroar!" Chibana exclaimed, brimming with anticipation.

Now, Charizard was ready to fight, its strength and confidence reignited. It could finally compete with Incineroar on equal footing!
