Pokemon: Nexus of worlds

Chapter 12: A Drilling Situation

The sun slowly raises up from the horizon, it's rays glistening, covering the entire forest with its warm light.

The light finally falls on Max's face who was staring blankly on the sky.

I didn't got a wink of sleep.

His eyes halflidded as small eyebags formed under his eyeballs.

"Damn this forest!" Cursed Max, sitting up on his sleeping bag.

The continuous sound of bugs and birds chirping, rustling of bushes that almost gave him heart attacks and many more. The forest was clearly not a good place to spend the night.

Putting the sleeping bag back to his bag, he stood up and stretched lazily.

Yet another long day... He sighed, but he had accepted his fate.

He starts preparing the morning meal for his mons, and takes them out for their food. One among the 5 different meals of their day.

After the meal was done, Max walked towards Shu, squatting to it's level.

"Can you fly and look around the surrounding and find the way?"

Pidgey!!

It fluttered its wings, and takes off, gliding through the air with it's wings spread wide.

"Now one thing is done, then..."

He looked around toward the others, and ask them to wait patiently until Shu returns, hopefully Raiken will abide.

Raiken was annoyed, its prey was taken away from it, so all it was left with punching practice was the tree.

Something about Raiken was, it could never stand still, either it will be punching or kicking something(mostly Kakuna and Metapod).

But after Kaen scolding it a little, and a little request from Max. It begrudgingly sits still besides Max.

Max sighed in relief and closed his eyes, leaning against the tree. He had some time until shu return, maybe rest until then.

Metapod and Kakuna were inside the pokeballs, and both Kaen and Raiken were leaning on Max while their back kept against tree for support.

But the very next moment. Raiken jumps out of it's position, and starts punching the tree.

Sigh, God bless me...

As Raiken kept punching the tree, the punch were lighter, but out of no reason it just decided it would end the tree right there and Karate Chop it hard.

"The hell are you doing!"

Max screamed as he, together with Kaen, jumped up immediately.

The fall from the tree sends ripples through the air around the forest.

Max legs were shakey as he held Kaen on his hands whose face was equally as dumbfounded.

Raiken jumps on the dead tree and began jumping on it, maybe using low kick even.

"Dude! What's wrong with you!"

Raiken spared a glance at Max and immediately jumped on his arms, holding his shoulder like a tree branch, waiting to get it's praise.

"You... "

As Max was about to say something to Raiken, he felt a shiver run down his spine.

He slowly turned around, and within the shadows of tree branches, deep red eyes glew one after another and the yellow-black stripped bee with drill like needles comes in view.

The Beedrills, surrounded him from all directions, and had now began to slowly close the distance.

Fighting one was one thing, but there were hundreds of them, how was he supposed to do this?

He slowly stepped behind, more and more as his back touched the tree's branch.

Seems like the earlier ripples have angered them gravely.

Kaen slowly stepped back too, eyes narrowed, she was scared but ready to fight if worst come to place.

"Raiken! Wait!"

Raiken, jumped from Max's arm and in front of those hundreds of bees buzzing, thirsty for their blood.

Mankey!

It cried, punching the air as if challenging them to dare step forward.

Offended, Beedrills pointed their needles towards Mankey, jumped in.

Pidgey!!

Shu just arrived, flapping it's wind with it's full strength to create a large gust.

The Beedrills motions get's suddenly interrupted, and they begin blewing away along with the gust.

Seeing tge opportunity, Max grabs both Raiken and Kaen's arms and began running.

"Come back now!"

He withdrew both Raiken and Kaen ad he ran away. Shu glides itself near to Max and points the direction to him before Max calls it back, fortunately Max was running the correct direction.

The Beedrills slowly angles themselves back and starts running after Max, the chase have begun.

Ritchie was walking through the forest, hoping to find some better and stronger bug's then yesterday.

Suddenly he hears some loud rustling towards south-eastern side. He turns around towards the sound.

It must be some really strong pokemon!

The excitement was apparent on his face as he reached his hands towards his pokeball.

Ready now!

He was about to throw his ball, but suddenly from the rustling came Max running.

Ritchie's eyes widen in recognition, it was the same guy who have cheated earlier.

"Run!!!"

"It's you! Fight me again you bastard!" He shouted, but as his gaze fell on the swarm of Beedrills behind him, his face pales.

Excitement, anger, shocked, confusion and fear, Ritchie went through 5 different emotions in this span of 5 seconds.

"Why the hell are they after you!!" Ritchie screams as he immediately joins Max in running.

"A lot happened and I ended up like this,"

"Then why am I also being chased?"

"Don't know just run!"

"You bastard!"

They kept running, but Ritchie was starting to lag behind.

"I-I-I can't-"

Ritchie stumbled upon the tree roots and falls his face flat.

He immediately turns around and sees the Beedrills nearing him immensely.

"What are you doing? Run!!"

But Ritchie legs had already gave up. He couldn't hear anything, every shouts of Max was falling on deaf ears as the fear completely overtook Ritchie's mind.

"No..No.. No... No! Big brother! Save me!"

"Damn you, Go! Everyone!" Max said as he threw his poke balls in air

Despite everything, he wasn't heartless as to leave a helpless kid to dying.

Max threw all his arsenal, all 5 pokemon at the same time towards the horde of Beedrills.

"Shu, Gust! And Kaen, Use Ember along with his gust!"

"Raiken, pull that boy out!"

The command unleashes, Raiken, as delinquent as it may be, it knew when it was serious.

It immediately pulled Ritchie out, yanking him away from his shoulder.

"Oww!" Ritchie screams as he gets slammed on the tree branch.

As he slowly opens his eyes, he witness a sea of inferno being thrown towards the swarm of Beedrills.

The power and density of Ember was boosted several fold due to the help of gust.

Because of the sheer density of Beedrills, he had held himself back and ran because in order to counter it, he needed to use the fused attacks of both Kaen and Shu, which could result in Forest fire, and that was the last thing he wanted.

But seeing the situation now, he had to do it regardless and only hope the forest would be ok.

The Inferno immediately consumes all the Beedrills in it's heat, many of them falling not being able to withstand it's sheer strength.

"Raiken!"

Raiken, immediately grabs both Metapod and Kakuna and begins throwing them towards the Beedrills like stone.

At first Max wanted to stop, but then he realized, it could actually favour him.

"Perfect! Raiken continue, Metapod and Kakuna, use Harden!"

While Raiken throw then at Beedrills and knocks them out, the experience might distribute evenly.

The Beedrills number have although lowered down, but the number still standing was annoying. There were still 70 of them alive.

It would be better to have Kaen and Shu attack separately then together, as they are strong enough to defeat them alone.

And he did that, Staying in centre and commanding his pokemon with full concentration.

And soon, the numbers in Beedrills was finally starting to lower down.

Mankey would throw Kakuna and Metapod at Beedrills, and they used Stringshot to wrap on the foe and use them to strike even further foes.

While Charmander just fried the Bees and Shu blew then away.

Surprisingly, Both Shu and Kaen, who together defeated like 75℅ of enemies still had energy to spare.

When did they got so monstrous?

Either way it worked, and when the number was lowered down to 20,the remaining Beedrills fled in horror as they saw no hope of winning.

Max was beyond glad, he fell in his knees as he breathed heavily.

He was the one to get drained instead of his pokemon, clearly handling 5 pokemons at the same time and coming up with proper commands was huge exam of his eligibility to being trainer.

As his breath finally came in control and the adrenaline finally lowered down, his gaze followed around his surrounding.

The whole forest was in fire.
