Pokemon: Sign-in System

Chapter 14: Mega Evolution Stone

At that moment, an electronic chime echoed in Adrian's mind, startling him slightly as he momentarily paused to take in the message.

**Ding!**

[Designated Sing-in location has been found!]

[Sign-in location: Bronze Secret Realm Fantasy Valley!]

Curiosity piqued, Adrian raised his eyebrows with interest. "A designated sign-in? That's a rarity," he mused to himself. This marked the second time since his system had been activated that a designated sign-in location had been announced. The first had led him to an underground experimental base, where he had gained an unexpected and powerful ability: the power of Viridian. Now, he couldn't help but wonder what rewards awaited him this time.

With a glimmer of excitement in his eyes, Adrian prepared to make his way out of the Mysterious Forest. His companion, Scyther, was efficiently scouting the area deep within the Mysterious Forest, allowing Adrian to navigate the treacherous terrain without much trouble. After a few minutes of careful maneuvering, he successfully exited the forest.

As he journeyed, he ensured that Scyther and Gabite, his other Pokémon, were working together effectively and getting to know each other. Their camaraderie was essential, especially after they had confronted and defeated a formidable Ursaring and a cunning Arbok that had crossed their path. Thanks to the experience they shared, Gabite was able to level up once again, utilizing the benefits of the Exp. Share.

When the notification chimed to announce that Gabite had reached level 25, Adrian took a moment to appreciate the beauty of the clear river in front of him. Recognizing the need for a brief break, he called for his Pokémon to rest. At the same time, he recalled that he had some Oran Berries stashed away in his bag. Settling down on the tranquil riverbank, he started extracting the vibrant orange fruit, excited at the prospect of making energy cubes.

Within five minutes, the energy cube-making machine whirred to life and produced a gleaming High-Level quality energy cube. Adrian gazed thoughtfully at the orange square in front of him, contemplating his recent manufacturing experiences. Previously, he had used high-quality fruits to create top-grade energy cubes, while this particular Oran Berry was of Normal quality. Nevertheless, it still created an impressive High-Level energy cube.

"This manufacturing machine is truly a treasure!" Adrian exclaimed, feeling a wave of relief wash over him. There was no shortage of Oran Berries in the Bronze Mysteries, so acquiring them was never a concern. While this energy cube wasn't of Supreme Grade, Scyther seemed irresistibly attracted to its fragrance and began to draw nearer to him.

"Scy!" Scyther chimed in, its voice holding a captivating charm. Adrian smiled warmly and extended the orange energy cube toward his eager companion. Scyther accepted it, deftly catching it with its scythe before eagerly swallowing it whole, relishing the delicious flavor.

When Scyther finally looked back at Adrian, its eyes glowed with a faint reddish hue, and Adrian was momentarily taken aback by its intense expression. It was as if confirmation of their bond had been solidified in that instant. Then, without warning, a beep resonated in his ears.

[Congratulations to the host, Scyther's intimacy is +20!]

"Seriously? Eating a High-Level energy cube grants +20 intimacy?" he exclaimed in disbelief, a wave of happiness bubbling within him. The higher the intimacy between him and his Pokémon, the better their synergy during battles, an essential factor for achieving victory.

With a delighted smile, Adrian took a moment to savor his success. However, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a shadow moving on the riverbank in the distance. As he turned to look more closely, a familiar feeling washed over him, rekindling memories of someone dear.

"Luna?" he called out tentatively, unsure of what he might find.

To his surprise, the beautiful figure over ten meters away reacted with a slight tremor, then spun around, revealing a pair of bright, watery eyes that sparkled as they connected with his gaze.

"Brother Adrian!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with enthusiasm and surprise. Without a moment's hesitation, she dropped the fishing rod she had been holding, completely forgetting about the Magikarp swimming lazily in the water, and sprinted towards him.

Before he could process her movement, Luna flung herself into his arms with an infectious energy. Adrian was momentarily startled by the warmth and affection, but instinctively wrapped his arms around her in a comforting embrace. This scene radiated harmony and tranquility, perfectly encapsulating a moment of genuine connection.

Yet, while Adrian and Luna enjoyed their intimate reunion, the barrage of comments from online viewers erupted in an uproar.

"? ? ?"

"My girl knows this guy?"

"How could my goddess be so forward with a boy? I'm ready to rush in and confront him!"

"Let's celebrate: handsome guys and beautiful girls belong together!"

"The surprise I was expecting just dropped to the ground..."

Luna had a much more prominent reputation even before the live broadcast. As the school beauty of Velmor City Middle School, she was widely admired and respected, often heralded as a talented girl by various media outlets. In stark contrast, Adrian was an emerging figure who had recently gained popularity during the live broadcast. Fans had never expected that such a prominent school beauty and an unknown newcomer would have a prior connection, and now it seemed their bond was quite close.

"Maybe they're siblings...?"

As the initial shock wore off, Luna took a moment to steady herself. She was keenly aware of the situation's awkwardness and quickly disentangled herself from Adrian's embrace. Her cheeks were flushed with a rosy hue, and the redness extended to her ears, revealing her embarrassment. Lowering her head, she found herself at a loss for words, feeling the weight of the moment pressing down on her.

It was Adrian who finally broke the silence, attempting to shift the atmosphere from its tense, ambiguous state. "Luna, why are you here?" he asked, his voice friendly but curious.

"As soon as I entered the secret realm, I was teleported here. But where were you Brother Adrian?" she replied, her eyes darting around as if hoping for a sign of him.

The moment she mentioned Brother Adrian, the blush on Luna's cheeks slowly faded away as concern took its place. She was struck by a strange sense of loss, realizing how comforting the warmth of that earlier embrace had been. It lingered in her thoughts, making her feel oddly nostalgic and yearning for a moment that was both embarrassing and oddly cherished.

"I just came out of the Mysterious Forest," Adrian explained, his tone matter-of-fact.

"The Mysterious Forest?" Luna exclaimed, her eyes widening with surprise. Hearing that name triggered a rush of concern, and she momentarily forgot about her earlier embarrassment. Her expression turned anxious, and a frown creased her forehead as she studied Adrian's face. "Brother Adrian, are you not injured?"

Luna's father was well-respected, holding a high-ranking position in the Velmor City Alliance, which afforded him knowledge about the forest's dangers. The Mysterious Forest was notorious for its deceptive pathways and potential perils. Tales circulated that those who ventured deeply into the forest often became hopelessly lost, unable to find their way back. Just before she had undertaken her assessment, her father had called her, sharing countless warnings about avoiding the Lost Forest at all costs. The fact that Adrian had initially teleported to such a dangerous place shocked her.

Adrian shook his head in confusion, mirroring her surprise as he processed her words. The revelation about the Lost Forest took him aback, but after considering the Goddess of Luck's Halo, he began to understand why he had ended up there.

"Luna, do you have any plans for where you're going next?" he asked, shifting the focus of their conversation.

Luna bit her lower lip, contemplating her options. After a brief moment, she replied, "I'm not entirely sure. Brother Adrian, do you have a specific destination in mind?"

"I'm planning to head to the valley," he responded.

"The valley? That's not far from here! Then I'll go with you!" she exclaimed, her spirits lifting as optimism washed over her. She quickly stowed her fishing rod, having caught enough water-type Pokémon to secure her points for the assessment. The thought of accompanying Brother Li filled her with excitement, making the once-dreaded graduation examination seem infinitely more enjoyable.

The pair made their way along the riverbank, chatting and sharing stories as they walked toward the valley, eager for the adventure ahead.

About half an hour later, a notification suddenly popped up in front of Adrian, jarring his thoughts:

**Ding!**

[Sign-in location: Velmor Valley Bronze Secret Realm, Fantasy Valley!]

[Sign-in at the four-star location was successful!]

[Congratulations to the host for receiving the reward - Scizorite!]

[Triggered a random draw!]

"Mega Evolution Stone?" Adrian articulated in stunned disbelief. A wave of elation washed over him, and a broad smile spread across his face that he could no longer contain. Thankfully, the audience observing him assumed he was celebrating the successful capture of Scyther and the joyous reunion with his companions. If they had known the true reason for his exhilaration, they might have suspected something was amiss.

He never anticipated that he would stumble upon a four-star sign-in location in the Bronze Secret Realm! He had faced several challenges to get to this point, and entering the underground of the Dray Family's Experimental Base was merely a three-star location for signing in!

This marked his first encounter with a four-star location, and the reward—a precious mega evolution stone worth a fortune—left him in awe.

In a flash, Adrian focused on the item before him, and a stone with an intricate red swirl etched into the center of a pristine white sphere appeared in his hand. In a swift movement, he clenched it tightly and secured it in his space backpack. While he wouldn't use this stone right away, its potential for Scizor's Mega Evolution in the future filled him with excitement and hope, knowing that he held a valuable key to his Pokémon's growth.
