Quantum Ascension ( The code of immortality)

Chapter 11: Chapter 10: The Ghost of the Quantum War

Chapter 10: The Ghost of the Quantum War

Erevan sat on the cold metal floor of the UnderNet chamber, his body still trembling from the battle simulation. The echoes of the bounty hunter's evolution haunted his mind.

"They adapted to my Quantum Phantom Code… which means next time, I might not win."

Daedric stood before him, his glowing cybernetic eyes analyzing Erevan's vitals. "You look like shit."

Erevan scoffed. "Gee, thanks."

Nyssa crossed her arms. "He's right, though. If that was a real fight, you'd be dead."

Erevan clenched his fists. He wasn't stupid—he knew that better than anyone. He needed more power.

Daedric's expression turned serious. "There's someone you need to meet."

Erevan narrowed his eyes. "Who?"

Daedric's cybernetic arm twitched, his fingers moving as if he were typing on an invisible keyboard. The air around them glitched, and suddenly—

A holographic projection of a massive underground city filled the chamber. It wasn't like the UnderNet. It was older. Abandoned.

And at the center of it—

A single, glowing stasis pod.

Nyssa stiffened. "No way… You're actually taking him there?"

Erevan's pulse quickened. "Where the hell is this?"

Daedric's voice dropped to a whisper.

"The Tomb of the Quantum Ghost."

The Forgotten Legend—The Quantum Ghost

Erevan followed Daedric and Nyssa through the UnderNet's lowest levels, past layers of old ruins and forgotten tunnels.

At last, they reached a sealed vault, its surface covered in pre-apocalypse coding scripts. The tech was ancient—so ancient that even Erevan's implants struggled to read it.

Daedric placed his palm on the scanner, his Qi flowing through the circuits. The vault doors groaned, then slid open.

Inside, the stasis pod hummed with raw, unstable energy.

Erevan's breath caught.

The person inside was alive.

A man, suspended in frozen time. His body was covered in cybernetic augmentations, but unlike anything Erevan had seen before. The circuits ran through his veins like natural pathways, as if technology and Qi had truly become one.

Daedric turned to Erevan. "This man is Sorin Vale—the only person to ever defy the Quantum Sect and live."

Nyssa's voice was full of awe. "The Ghost of the Quantum War."

Erevan's mind reeled. He knew that name.

It was a myth—one whispered among underground rebels and rogue cultivators. A man who had fought the Quantum Sect alone, who had wielded power beyond comprehension, and who had vanished without a trace.

Daedric continued, "Sorin was the first human to fully merge with the Phantom Code without breaking apart. But before he could use that power to destroy the sect, they trapped him in this stasis chamber. He's been frozen in time for nearly a century."

Erevan swallowed hard. "And you want me to wake him up?"

Daedric grinned. "Not just wake him up. I want you to learn from him."

Breaking the Seal

Erevan stepped toward the stasis pod. His Quantum Phantom Code reacted instantly, his body humming with the same unstable energy trapped inside Sorin.

The console flickered, displaying a message:

[WARNING: STASIS BREAK MAY CAUSE UNSTABLE REALITY COLLAPSE]

Erevan took a deep breath.

"No turning back now."

He placed his hand on the pod's surface, channeling his Qi and Phantom Code.

The pod's seals unraveled, the energy inside exploding outward.

The air cracked—reality itself distorting—and then—

Sorin Vale's eyes snapped open.

For a moment, everything froze.

Then—

The Quantum Ghost moved.

Sorin Vale Awakens—The First Cyber Dao Cultivator

Sorin stepped out of the pod, his movements too fluid, too precise—as if he weren't just human anymore. His gaze landed on Erevan, and for a split second, Erevan felt as if the man could see through his entire existence.

Sorin exhaled, his voice heavy with a century of lost time.

"…How long have I been asleep?"

Daedric's voice was calm. "Ninety-three years."

Sorin's eyes darkened. "And the Quantum Sect?"

"Stronger than ever," Daedric admitted. "They're about to launch Project Omni-Core."

Sorin's expression turned deadly. His Qi surged, and Erevan felt something terrifying.

This wasn't normal cultivation.

Sorin's power didn't just radiate Qi—it bent the very laws of reality.

Erevan's chest tightened. This was what true mastery of the Phantom Code looked like.

Sorin turned to him, his gaze sharp. "You're different."

Erevan hesitated. "I… stole the Quantum Phantom Code from the sect."

For the first time, Sorin grinned.

"Good. Then you're my disciple now."

Erevan's mind blanked. "Wait, what?"

Sorin cracked his neck. "You activated my pod. That makes you responsible for what happens next."

Erevan's instincts screamed at him. This man was on a completely different level.

Sorin stepped forward, his aura overwhelming.

"You want to stop the Quantum Sect?"

Erevan clenched his fists. "Yeah."

Sorin's grin widened.

"Then prepare yourself. Because I'm going to break you—and rebuild you into something the Quantum Sect fears."

Quantum Ghost Training—The Path to the Impossible Begins

Daedric clapped his hands together. "Great. I'll leave you two to it."

Erevan scowled. "Wait, that's it? No guidance?"

Nyssa smirked. "Trust me. You're gonna need all your strength for this."

Sorin raised his hand, and the air cracked. The underground chamber shifted, becoming a twisted battlefield of unstable reality loops.

"This place exists between multiple versions of the same moment," Sorin explained. "You'll train here until you can manipulate every possible outcome."

Erevan's head spun. "That's… insane."

Sorin smirked. "And it's the only way to survive the war that's coming."

Erevan exhaled, stepping forward.

"No choice now. If I want to win, I have to become something the Quantum Sect could never predict."

Sorin's hand ignited with Phantom Code energy.

"Now, let's begin."

And then—

The real training started.
