Chapter 311: Not My Problem
Amber's reply didn't surprise me, but it did catch Dina off guard.
"What the fuck are you saying? I'm bitterly giving you a lifeline here!" Dina screamed.
Amber paid no attention to the lady, her gaze instead on me. She moved close to the dead man, but I waved her off.
"Your ass felt incredible. What do you say I fuck it some other time?" I leaned close to the woman.
"I don't think that's a good idea."
"Wrong answer. It's a good thing though the decision is not up to you."
"My lady," I offered my arm, but rather than take it, Amber's hand reached up for my shirt, fixing my collars.
"You should strive to look your best at all times."
"There." Amber took a step back.
"When you're not scheming and trying to claw your way to power, you're actually a sweet girl."
"Thank you."
"Now, before we leave, can you tell Dina why her threats are useless and why you picked to side with me?"
Nodding, Amber turned to Dina, her expression not haughty or mocking, just neutral.
"It has no magazine. I'm guessing he already found the gun some time ago and took it out."
"What?" Dina looked at the gun in disbelief, bringing it closer for inspection and widening her eyes when she found a hollow spot that shouldn't exist.
"When? I've been with you throughout."
Not caring for the woman's pleas, I offered my arm to Amber once more. She hooked her arms around it, and we headed for the door.
"I'm not done with you!" Dina charged toward us, the fear she had kept hidden all this while blossoming forth.
"You both are not leaving! Marcus, what do you think you're doing siding with her? Are you forgetting she's the enemy?"
Dina rushed and stood in our path to the door, bringing our movement to a stop.
"Do you also want to be disciplined?"
That was all I said as I resumed moving.
From within, an aura of dominance began leaking, this aura travelling within the fabric of reality and trembling. Dina moved out of the way just before we got to her.
Taking out the key, I exited the room, both women swimming in their own thoughts, none of them the wiser about the dead body that silently disappeared.
When I came aboard the Scowling Whale, it was with Amber by my side, her arms entwined with mine. And when I left it, I still had the same woman by my side.
None aboard the Scowling Whale was aware of the happenings between me, Amber, and Dina—except maybe Sky Warthag. It was, after all, his ship.
"Does Sky know of your scheme?"
"He knows I'm up to something, but he doesn't know the full story."
"So he's in support of you being by his side?"
"Others might not think much of me, but he sees my fire and believes in me."
"Yeah, he believes in you, but not enough to put his neck on the line. That's why he only knows something. If this all blows up, you're the only one going back."
"He has a career to look after. He can't just throw away all he's worked for."
"Hmm, you've fucked Sky, haven't you?"
Amber only looked down, not offering an answer.
"No, you guys are still fucking. He's your sex buddy."
"Don't go making baseless accusations. It just makes you look stupid."
"They're not accusations. I'm just stating the truth."
It was past five when we left, the ship stepping off the ramp and getting back onto Belle Island.
Just as we had come, we got on a speedboat, going across the water to the mainland. And getting in, I readily stepped into the black jeep that came to pick up Amber and me, not the least bit bothered about the little scheme she had set up.
"I'm surprised you agreed to get in my car," it was Amber who broke the silence.
"Why shouldn't I? Do you plan to gas me?"
"Maybe."
"Then go ahead, but be aware that if I survive the gas, I'm going to fuck you right here in the car, straight in the ass."
The only reaction that came was from the driver in front, the man unable to hold back a cough. Internally, I really hoped for his life.
As the seconds went by, Amber didn't indicate for the canister of sleeping gas she had told her people to prepare to be ignited by the driver.
I mean, sure, it had just been a suggestion from me, but what if it wasn't? What were the odds that I would accurately predict that her plan was to gas me?
Depending on one's confidence in themselves, the numbers might vary. But when you took into context that I had somehow discovered the cameraman hiding within the walls of the Scowling Whale, you would take my words seriously.
"So, what next?"
"Home. I'm returning to Los Angeles."
"Can I come visit?"
"If your Denise allows it, sure."
"You're involving her?" Amber's face twisted.
"I have better things to do than worry about you two women. Don't tell me you thought I was going to spend the next few days playing games with you two. I'm a busy man."
From Amber's expression, it was clear the woman thought I had time and was interested in engaging her and Dina. But no, I had my sugar babies to fuck, school to go to, and a sweet woman to rescue.
Problems in Michigan fell under Denise's custody.
"You still don't know who Dina's ex-husband is, do you?"
"Nope."
"Well, it's Molly Frego aka Underworld Builder."
"Hmm, now who do I want to know about? Molly Frego or Jennifer Clove?"
"Jennifer Clove is untouchable. You should focus more on the slightly adjustable variable, Molly Frego."
"No, I much prefer Jennifer. She's the bigger fish to fry, and I want to be full after my meal."
"You can't contain that meal."
"Says who? What is Jennifer's relationship with you?"
Amber became tight-lipped, and after thinking for some time, I decided to rephrase the question.
"My bad, let me ask again."
"What would your lover do if she saw me fucking you, not even in your pussy, but in the ass?"
