Chapter 525: Chapter 525: The Eternal Sun Reappears
As soon as the God of Sun and Malignant Fire emerged, Garon sensed the disturbance and immediately returned to the Dragon Court, entering the Eternal Hall of Heroes.
At the core of the Hero's Realm, Garon, the Lord of Heroes, continually absorbed life energy to restore himself to peak condition. After all, he had expended considerable power sealing the Thunder Serpent and the Dusk Star on his previous journey.
Descending to the Prime Material Plane in a weakened state would be too risky.
Moreover, the God of Light was not entirely defenseless, so Garon didn't immediately rush to his aid.
In the Pantheon, Garon's avatar communicated with the God of Light's avatar, advising him to delay the confrontation as much as possible, giving Garon time to absorb life energy and restore his strength.
The God of Light assured him that he could hold on.
Now, with the God of Light still holding some defensive capability, Garon, thanks to the boundless life energy he could absorb and being unharmed, had restored his spirit and strength to their peak in a relatively short time.
In the Prime Material Plane, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire was desperate to capture the God of Light, relentlessly using his various Authorities.
Besides the Solar Authority, this malevolent deity also wielded numerous other powers, with Fire and Lava being his main domains.
His extraordinary divine power surged and overflowed.
Breathing heavily, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire raised his arm high.
Lava Authority: Furnace of Lava!
Buzz. Under the God of Sun and Malignant Fire's will, a massive furnace forged from deep, molten lava descended from the heavens, trapping the World Devourer within it.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The furnace thundered like storm clouds, and the sound of cracking echoed continuously. Under the World Devourer's gnawing, breaches began to appear on the furnace's surface, revealing glimpses of the primeval god's body inside.
Simultaneously, blood-red light spread across the sky, continually converging and solidifying until it formed ten blood-red suns, each tens of thousands of meters in diameter. The light they emitted bathed the entire Prime Material Plane in a blood-red glow, making it resemble the Abyss.
Solar Authority: Ten Suns Annihilation Formation!
The ten blood-red suns rotated in a fixed orbit, their solidified red light interlinking to form a colossal magical array, with the Furnace of Lava at its center.
Fire Authority: Malignant Flower Bloom!
A massive, burning red flower appeared out of thin air, lifting the Furnace of Lava high. Its petals closed around it, flames surging furiously.
Using his most powerful abilities, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire combined different Authorities to temporarily trap the World Devourer.
In truth, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire's real strength was slightly weaker than that of the God of Light and the World Devourer. However, because the God of Light and the World Devourer had been fighting each other for a long time, traversing through multiple Prime Material Worlds, their conditions were no longer at their peak. Thus, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire could now contend with the World Devourer.
Trapping the World Devourer was necessary because, given the God of Light's current weakened state, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire felt confident that he could subdue him directly.
To avoid interference from the World Devourer and to prevent the God of Light from being devoured by him, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire used significant effort to confine him first.
The moment the World Devourer was trapped, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire turned his gaze to the God of Light, his voice deep and resonant: "Pelor, now it's just the two of us."
"I will keep my promise and extract your heart, stripping you of your Authority in your agony."
Knowing he couldn't hold the World Devourer for long, he swiftly invoked his Solar Authority once again as he spoke.
Solar Authority: Malignant Sun in the Sky!
Centered on the God of Sun and Malignant Fire, solar radiance swirled around him, forming a circle.
In an instant, another sun, over 100,000 meters in diameter, ascended into the sky. Its light was as red as blood, and in its center, a cluster of flames flickered, resembling the eerie visage of the God of Sun and Malignant Fire, as if it were his very eyes.
In the outer planes, the real sun would pale in comparison to the malevolent sun created by this deity.
Below, under the blood-red brilliance, the heavily scarred and fissured God of Light gazed upwards, his eyes reflecting the crimson malignant sun.
In his current state, the God of Light could no longer resist the overwhelming power of the God of Sun and Malignant Fire.
With the Solar Authority of the God of Light within his grasp, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire felt a surge of excitement. His malevolent sun shone brilliantly, casting a blood-red hue over the earth, reminiscent of an apocalyptic scene.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The World Devourer struggled to break free from the Furnace of Lava, causing the Malignant Flower and the Ten Suns Formation to tremble incessantly.
Meanwhile, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire, guiding the blood-red sun, descended from the heavens, aiming directly at the God of Light.
Bathed in the crimson glow, the God of Light's entire vision was filled with the blazing red sun, as if the sky of flames was collapsing and falling upon him.
"Garon, I entrust my life to you," the God of Light whispered, a serene smile on his face, as he closed his eyes and spread his arms, seemingly ready to embrace the red sun.
"I shall not betray your trust."
At that moment, as the red light engulfed the world and the malignant sun hovered in the sky, the river of time stopped flowing, and time itself paused.
Buzz!
Within the ripples of time, a majestic silver dragon leaped from the river of time. As it emerged from the temporal stream, its body rapidly expanded.
By the time it fully materialized in the Prime Material Plane, the silver dragon had assumed a colossal form, over five thousand meters long from head to tail, towering like a mountain. Its silver-gray scales shone with a deep luster, and its head and horns were majestic, radiating a powerful dragon's presence and divine might as it stood tall.
The battered body of the God of Light was shielded under the dragon's mighty wings.
Simultaneously, the red malignant sun resumed its descent, counteracting the domain of stopped time.
"God of Sun and Malignant Fire, as a deity, you have forsaken your duties and allied with primeval gods to kill other gods during this crucial phase of the Second Dawn War."
"From now on, you will be considered an enemy of the Pantheon."
As the Dragon God wielding supreme authority, Garon held the status of enforcer within the Pantheon, possessing the power to designate the God of Sun and Malignant Fire as a target for the Pantheon.
The malignant sun roared, its flames raging.
A roar erupted from the core of the God of Sun and Malignant Fire: "You dragons gather weak and cowardly gods to satisfy your vanity, and you still aspire to stand above all gods? Utterly delusional."
Hearing this, Garon's gaze turned icy.
Though the Dragon Pantheon had established its dominion, dominion did not guarantee absolute obedience from all deities.
Deities like the God of Sun and Malignant Fire were not rare. If not for the primeval gods' invasion, the Pantheon would have first dealt with these dissenters. Only by truly unifying the gods and commanding them could the Pantheon truly live up to its name.
"Once the Second Dawn War is over, none of these beings will escape."
Garon mused silently.
Currently, the Dragon Pantheon led the resistance against the primeval gods, as it was their status and interests that the primeval gods sought to destroy. However, while the Dragon Pantheon fought the battles, some deities hid behind them, leaving the risks and burdens entirely to the Pantheon.
The Pantheon had barely been established when the primeval gods returned. With the current emergency, it was challenging to address these issues, but in due time, they would all be dealt with.
Lifting his head, Garon's gaze reflected the approaching red malignant sun.
He saw a sun whose brilliance was like blood, with flames raging, solidifying into a tangible entity.
Whoosh.
The silver dragon stood tall, its wings raised high.
Simultaneously, his already massive body continued to grow until it surpassed ten thousand meters in length, like a mountain range. His scales were rugged and jagged, and his wings stretched out, casting a shadow over the sky before he finally stopped growing.
This form wasn't ideal for combat as it reduced Garon's agility.
However, this colossal size bestowed upon Garon immense power.
The next moment, the red malignant sun fell.
The silver dragon's wings spread wide, and he fiercely swung them, his claws reaching upward.
Boom!
A deafening sound, as if the heavens and earth were collapsing, erupted.
Upon contact with the red malignant sun, Garon's body bore an unimaginable pressure, forcing him to descend together with it.
As he fell, the colossal dragon roared deeply, his muscles bulging, pushing the outlines of his silver-gray scales outward. Simultaneously, the power of time and extraordinary divine power intertwined, cloaking his body in a brilliant light.
Boundless power surged from within him.
The descent of the red malignant sun began to slow, eventually stopping altogether. Then, it started to rise again, lifted by the giant
dragon's immense strength.
During this process, the wingspan, already around twenty thousand meters, continued to grow, resembling a vast silver curtain that stretched upwards, intending to envelop the entire red malignant sun. Numerous ring-like patterns on his wings began to rotate, causing the river of time to swirl and create ever-growing vortices.
The Temporal Corridor reappeared.
"Danger!"
At the core of the red malignant sun, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire's pupils contracted.
The battle between Garon and the original Sun God had been secretly observed by several deities, including the God of Sun and Malignant Fire.
He knew that Garon had used this very move to successfully seal the original Sun God.
The God of Sun and Malignant Fire lacked the confidence to break through Garon's Temporal Corridor.
However, he also knew that preparing the Temporal Corridor took considerable time. Unlike the original Sun God, who had been severely wounded, his current condition was good. As long as he focused on escaping, Garon could not seal him.
Glaring at the God of Light's body, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire seethed with frustration.
"Just a little more, just a little more, just a little more!"
"Damn it, I was so close to taking down the God of Light."
Raging internally, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire's mind was ablaze with fury.
But anger and frustration aside, he didn't lose his reason.
Even with the God of Light so close, he couldn't break through Garon standing before him. Staying any longer would likely mean his own demise.
Boom!
The red malignant sun erupted in searing flames and shot skyward. Before the Temporal Corridor could lock into place, he escaped from beneath Garon's wings, out of the swirling temporal vortex's grasp.
"Pelor, wait! One day, you will be one with me!"
With this parting threat, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire dove into the ground, shattering the continental plates. He opened a rift to the Abyss and escaped the Prime Material Plane, returning to the Abyssal depths.
Garon didn't pursue him further.
In the Abyss, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire would regain his full divine power, which Garon could not contend with.
This outcome was within Garon's expectations. Given the God of Sun and Malignant Fire's well-preserved state, if he chose not to fight, Garon could not detain him.
Boom!
The World Devourer shattered the Furnace of Lava and reemerged.
Glancing at the towering silver dragon and sensing Garon's nearly peak state, the World Devourer then looked at the weakened God of Light. His monstrous mouth opened and closed as he spoke, "I've had my fill this time. I'll spare your lives."
"Next time we meet, be prepared to end up in my belly."
After the prolonged battle, the World Devourer was no longer at his peak, while Garon, having just arrived, was brimming with vitality.
For the World Devourer, a temporary retreat was the best choice.
Besides, in his battle with the God of Light, he had already secured a victory.
Regardless of the process, the God of Light was now severely injured and would take a long time to recover his full strength. He would likely not appear on the battlefield of the Second Dawn War unless the situation became dire.
Crunching through the planar barriers, the World Devourer created a rift and disappeared into it.
Having foreseen the outcome with his Time's Eye, Garon didn't bother to stop him.
Turning towards the God of Light, the silver dragon spoke with a steady voice, "I'll take you back to Mount Celestia to recuperate. Your divine body is on the brink of collapse."
The God of Light was in a dire state, his body covered with cracks, like a porcelain vase about to shatter. Even his extraordinary divine power was leaking in thin wisps, his aura weak, and his divine light dim.
Nodding weakly, the God of Light didn't try to put up a front. He said, "Thank you, Garon. I owe you one."
Immediately, Garon used temporal teleportation to transport them both out of the Prime Material Plane, heading to Mount Celestia.
Meanwhile.
The Abyss, Layer 1, The Infinite Plains.
A scorching dry wind blew across the desolate, grid-like plains, bathed in a dim red light. Everywhere, the ground was crisscrossed with fissures, ravines, and weathered bones.
Boom!
From a bottomless, chasm-like abyssal rift, under the fearful gazes of numerous demons, a red sun rose.
Its searing heat warped the space around it, and blood-red light spread out.
"Damn the God of Light."
"Damn the Time Dragon!"
"My Solar Authority was within my grasp!"
The God of Sun and Malignant Fire raged uncontrollably, releasing his power in a destructive outburst that engulfed and incinerated all living beings within billions of kilometers in a sudden flare-up of flames, their screams echoing as they turned to ash.
After turning a vast area into a barren wasteland, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire calmed down slightly.
Having vented his anger, he prepared to return to his divine domain.
The God of Sun and Malignant Fire's divine realm was situated on the Infinite Plains, shared with another deity of the Maztec Pantheon, the powerful War God Xaltoc, the main deity of the Maztec.
But just as he was about to teleport to his divine realm, he found the surrounding space sealed.
A cold, golden light silently locked the area.
"Who is it! Show yourself!"
The God of Sun and Malignant Fire's face twisted in fury as he spoke.
In his current foul mood, radiating a bloody glow, his first instinct was to rip out the heart of the unknown intruder.
As he watched, a figure emerged from the dim red light of the Infinite Plains. Cloaked in a golden robe, tall and handsome with clear-cut features and long silver hair flowing to the waist.
"Well, well, if it isn't the great Dawn Lord Lathander."
"Have you finally decided to descend into the Abyss? Are you here to join us evil gods? I welcome you warmly."
The God of Sun and Malignant Fire chuckled darkly.
The deity standing before him was indeed the Lord of the Dawn.
Lathander's face bore his characteristic radiant smile, but his eyes were as cold as ice, serious and stern.
The "Dawn Lord" stepped closer to the God of Sun and Malignant Fire, his smile fading into a cold stare, and spoke in an unwavering tone, "Tezcat, I want something of yours."
"The Solar Authority that once belonged to me, which shall now return to its rightful owner."
Having long coveted the Solar Authority, the God of Sun and Malignant Fire had observed the Dawn Lord closely for some time.
Now, he noticed something off.
"You're not the Dawn Lord. Who are you really?"
The God of Sun and Malignant Fire demanded in a low voice.
"I am indeed Lathander, the Dawn Lord."
"And also Amantor, the original, once revered by all gods as the Eternal Sun."
