It was this battle that established Dragon Nest's dominance in the Dark Forest, and it also won the titles given by the outside world – [Black Nest], [Black Wing Nest] [The Black Wave of Doom].
After this battle, coupled with the activities of a large number of adventure groups composed of monsters and humans in the outside world, the Black Wing Lair gradually gained a certain reputation in the southern part of the continent. Even among the strong and top kingdoms and players, we are now fully aware of its existence on other continents.
In the nearby area, the forces with a little knowledge basically know that there is a powerful black dragon called the Black Dragon King in the dark forest, and he has established a kingdom of monsters who also had connections with the Kingdom of Dal, Black Queen City, Sieglinde City, the now-gone Voltan City, and some other.
As for more detailed information, most of the forces do not know it and are too lazy to understand it. It has nothing to do with you, it doesn't threaten you, and you won't put much thought into it. As there are already too many threats to deal with, they don't want to feel overwhelmed.
---
After all, the ones who really control the wind and rain on the mainland are the major forces with legendary strong creatures. In front of the former, other forces are just small players, and every time they grow, they eventually perish in its never ending cycle of life, death, creation and destruction.
Only legends can break this cycle.
---
Above Monster City, the towering black-gold castle expanded from 500 meters to 800 meters.
Dragon Pool, Central
For humans, mountains of treasure composed of gold, silver, copper, elemental crystals, gems, and magical minerals are piled up randomly.
A thick, ferocious jet-black tail with golden engravings and golden spikes on its scales stretched across several treasure hills, hanging casually. Bone spurs added to its intimidating appearance.
Looking up from the tail of this ferocious dragon, a giant black dragon, much larger than the treasure hills, was sleeping.
An invisible oppressive atmosphere permeated the space.
Even the air was silent, fearful of waking this terrifying black beast.
After an unknown amount of time, the dark giant beast slowly opened its scarlet dragon eyes. The dark cracks in the middle of its pupils seemed to swallow everything.
"Another month has passed."
The dark beast muttered to himself.
"It's been a while since I went out for a walk."
Then go out for a walk.
The black dragon made his decision. A huge light door, a hundred meters high, flashed in front of him, and he stepped inside.
As his dragon wings and tail passed through the door, they lifted a large amount of treasure, and the sound was pleasantly resonant.
---
Outside the Black Castle, in the dark square.
More than twenty young dragons had gathered under the arena in the square.
Roar~!
On the ring, a white dragon, over ten meters long, knocked down a black dragon more than eight meters in length. Dragon blood and broken scales were scattered across the arena.
"Winner: Eirlys!"
A strong, three-meter-tall dragonborn Dragonman announced the result of the battle.
"Emilia, you've only had Father's blood for a few years, and you think you can challenge me? Wishful thinking!" Eirlys, the white dragon, looked down at Hannah and snorted.
Emilia gritted her teeth and glared at the triumphant Eirlys. As a black dragon, being defeated by a white dragon of the same age—and so miserably—stung deeply.
"I will definitely win next time!" Emilia growled, then flew dejectedly from the ring.
Eirlys hummed an unknown tune, vibrated her dragon wings, and descended to the ground.
"The next fight is between Frost and Osiel," the dragonborn referee announced.
Upon hearing the referee, two male white dragons, each over seven meters long, exchanged glances before flapping their wings and flying onto the ring, full of fighting spirit.
These two were the only dragon beasts hatched from a batch of more than a dozen white dragon eggs. Born with the blood of the Dragon King, they had grown to rival young black dragons in just five years.
The dozen or so white dragon siblings hatched alongside them were only about four meters long. Compared to Frost and Osiel, the disparity was vast.
But that was the system of Black Castle.
Dragon beasts were raised as godsons and goddaughters, while true dragons were groomed as high-level guards. Only dragons who had undergone character transformation could receive the bloodline of the Dragon King.
So far, only three true dragons had earned the void bloodline: the black dragoness Emilia, the black dragoness Hannah, and the green dragon Saith (the founder of the "Dragon Knight" genre).
Time passed, and all the dragon battles concluded.
As the referee, the dragonborn effortlessly lifted a black rock over ten meters high and hurled it into the square. Magic flowed as inscriptions appeared, leaving bold, powerful words etched in the stone.
More than twenty young dragons crowded around to read the words on the black rock.

---
This was the Dragon's Nest Battle.
A civil war between dragons, held every few years. Rewards and benefits were distributed based on the results of each battle.
"The top seven all have the blood of the Dragon King! This is so unfair! If I had the blood of the Dragon King, I'd be stronger than all of you," a young white dragon muttered angrily.
"Haha, stupid. Who made it impossible for you to suppress your evil nature? Wasn't it you, White Dragon Oni? You attacked Dragon Nest residents recently because you couldn't resist your animalistic urge to hunt," Emilia mocked.
"Hmph."
Hearing the third-ranked Emilia, the dissatisfied white dragon dared not retort but muttered under his breath after she left. "Hunting lower creatures is an honor for true dragons!"
The dragonborn referee observed silently, shaking his head at the young white dragon.
"They're ruled by animalistic nature. If they can't correct themselves, they'll be eliminated."
Chromatic dragons all carry original sins inherent in their bloodlines: red dragons are arrogant, blue dragons are warlike, green dragons are cunning, black dragons are cruel, and white dragons are animalistic and foolish.
The standard for obtaining the void bloodline at Black Castle required true dragons to suppress and control the original sins of their bloodlines.
Changing a dragon's character, such as turning a white dragon's stupidity into wisdom, was almost impossible with Black Castle's current educational capabilities.
His eyes turned.
---
I transformed into a ferocious dragon-man form and walked alone through the food streets of Monster City.
Holding a fat and oily crispy pig head in one hand, I bit into it, taking half of the head in one bite.
"It's good to change into a dragon form and eat occasionally," I grinned.
With my terrifying black dragon body that now reached fifty meters, ordinary delicacies had no taste at all.
Therefore, a few years ago, after Monster City began to become prosperous and lively, I started occasionally transforming into a three-meter-tall dragon-human form to visit the food court and enjoy some fun.
As for whether my appearance would attract attention?
Of course, it would. After all, there are no Dragonman like me in Monster City, and I look so ferocious and domineering.
However, after seeing my extremely strong and exaggerated muscles, the dark scales protecting my body, and my arrogant aura, the residents of Monster City did not dare to provoke me.
Bang!
"Ten more pig heads."
Unsatisfied after swallowing two pig heads weighing hundreds of kilograms in just a few mouthfuls, I slapped my large hand on the table, dropped a shiny gold coin, and signaled the goatman boss to bring ten more.
The goatman boss, who stood at 2.8 meters tall with strong muscles all over his body, still appeared like a younger brother compared to me.
"Brother, how did you develop these muscles?" the goatman boss asked, looking at my exaggerated muscles with envy as he handed me five freshly roasted pig heads.
I devoured them at a speed of two mouthfuls per pig head. Just as I was about to reply, a terrifying dragon's power surged from the sky in the distance. Accompanying the vast dragon's might was a domineering and arrogant roar.
The shocking cry of a dragon.
"Little black dragon, come out!!"
In Monster City and Black Castle, all the residents who heard the shocking dragon roar and arrogant words secretly wondered which dragon, reckless enough to challenge the Black Dragon King, had dared to come here. Curious and surprised, they raised their heads one after another, staring at the sky with wide eyes.
They saw, in the distant eastern sky of Monster City, a red dragon with a wingspan of sixty or seventy meters and a body length of more than thirty-five meters approaching menacingly. The scales on the red dragon's body resembled blazing flames, and its ferocious and domineering dragon horns pierced straight through the sky. Its passive burning field effect was fully activated, transforming all clouds and mist within a radius of dozens of kilometers into fiery clouds.
At a glance, the endless flaming clouds seemed to engulf the entire Monster City.
"A red dragon? And a mature one, no less. When did I offend this kind of gal? Did someone under me provoke her?"
Chewing on a pig's head, I felt puzzled.
I quickly stuffed five large pig heads into my mouth, my sharp serrated teeth acting like cutting machines as they chewed through the pig heads along with the bones.
Hiccup~
"I'll pick up the remaining five pig heads next time," I said.
After leaving those words to the goatman boss, I stepped through an Any Door and disappeared.
The goatman boss stared blankly at the scene. Just as he was about to speak, a more powerful dominant dragon roar echoed from the eastern sky.
It was just as domineering and arrogant as the red dragon's roar but significantly louder, clearly heard by all living creatures within a radius of hundreds of miles.
The creatures in Black Castle and Monster City felt calm after hearing the familiar dragon roar.
The Black Dragon King had shown up.
It was impossible for the powerful Black Dragon King to hide after being so openly provoked by a red dragon.
In the eastern sky, high above, a massive white light gate, towering a hundred meters tall, suddenly appeared in front of Red Dragon.
First, a dark dragon claw emerged from it, followed by a ferocious dragon head with eight exaggerated dragon horns. Then came a domineering, muscular dragon body with clear joints, appearing as though clad in black armor.
The majestic black dragon stepped out, suspended high in the sky, and the massive white light gate dissolved behind him.
I lowered my head, looked at the red dragon that had stopped in front of me, and grinned.
"Where did this little female dragon come from? Are you in a hurry to find a mate or a fight?!"
Carolina's lava-like pupils shrank slightly upon seeing the huge figure, much more exaggerated than hers. She stopped her forward movement instantly, eyeing him warily. Despite being ridiculed, anger filled her, but she restrained herself.
"You—"
The female red dragon hesitated, confused. This was supposed to be the territory of an adult black dragon, but why did it belong to such a terrifying figure?
Just as she was planning to explain, I, disregarding martial ethics, appeared in front of her using Void Walk, my black dragon tail swinging directly at her head.
Caught off guard, Carolina was flung away, crashing into the distant forest.
I gazed indifferently at the flying female red dragon. Without hesitation, I conjured a massive white light gate before me. My dragon claw reached through, delivering a heavy strike against her.
However, Carolina reacted swiftly. Blocking with her claws, her massive red dragon body only trembled slightly, retreating a short distance.
But as she retreated, she collided with the giant white light gate that had suddenly appeared behind her, teleporting her away in an instant.
"So strong," I muttered, watching the female red dragon being teleported away with a solemn expression.
I hadn't held back in my sudden attack earlier. I'd even used the second-ring Water Element Enhancement technique and the third-ring Acceleration technique at Return-to-Nature level to boost my strength and speed slightly, increasing my chances of success.
This was already my strongest average Ace.
Even so, my sneak attack, consisting of a tail strike and a claw strike, only blew the female red dragon away, causing some broken dragon scales. These could only be considered minor injuries.
This wasn't due to my attacks being weak. On the contrary, the two strikes could easily kill a top-level monster of the fifteenth or sixteenth order. Both my speed and strength had reached the ordinary master level, bordering on the extraordinary.
"The red dragon is in her prime, with a biological order that has definitely reached order 19. Even if she hasn't trained in other professions, she's already a top powerhouse below the legendary tier. If she has learned a profession, she would at least possess pseudo-legendary combat power," I thought, feeling some pressure.
Five years ago, I was only in the top-thirteenth order. Now, five years later, I've reached top-tier fourteenth order, still far from the fifteenth order. And now, I'm facing a nineteenth-order, mature red dragon.
I expressed this sentiment:
"Let's talk about it after a fight."
Anyway, I can't die. Let's fight first!
Lose?
There's no chance of losing, as I can boost my stats using Overdrive Mode if it comes to that.
A giant white light gate appeared in front of me, and I stepped into it resolutely.
As my surroundings changed, I found myself transported from the dark forest to an offshore desert island east of the wasteland.
When I looked up, I saw the female red dragon floating in the air. A giant white light gate materialized before her.
This girl seems to know all kinds of spells, but she appears to be at the entry level, taking several seconds to cast them.
An Any Door spell at this level is essentially useless in high-intensity battles and only practical for travel.
It's likely the reason why this female red dragon learned this spell was solely for convenience, as she didn't bother advancing her studies.
"Red Dragoness, why do you want to invade this king's territory?!" I asked coldly.
Above, Carolina, attracted by the sudden fluctuation of spells, abandoned the use of Any Door and stared at the black dragon stepping through the giant white light gate, her expression vigilant.
The opponent's sheer size placed immense pressure on her.
But what puzzled Carolina was why the black dragon teleported her away instead of teaching her a lesson before doing so.
The broken dragon scales from his tail and claw strikes weren't even painful; they didn't amount to a proper lesson at all.
