Reborn as Madokas Twin Brother

Chapter 2: Story of a blind Witch

"Hmm well I have no experience with a crush unlike you" Manaka replied with a smile.

Sayaka pouted, her blue eyes then glinted mischievously. "True but it may happen sooner or later."

"Yeah maybe it could be you" Manakw said smoothly.

Sayaka's cheeks flushed a deep red, and she quickly turned her gaze away, crossing her arms. "W-what's that supposed to mean?" she stammered, trying—and failing—to sound indignant.

Manaka shrugged nonchalantly, his expression as calm as ever. "I'm just saying, you never know. Fate has a funny way of throwing surprises at people, doesn't it?"

The two joined up with madoka and Manaka went on his way, he was going to class and enjoy the day.

Soon the class was lively after the students chatted around, the teacher finally arrived with a girl right beside her.

The teacher, Miss Saotome, clapped her hands to get the class's attention. "Settle down, everyone! We have a new transfer student joining us today. Please give her a warm welcome."

The girl beside her stepped forward, her expression calm and composed. She had long, raven-black hair tied in a loose braid and piercing violet eyes that seemed to scan the room with quiet intensity. Her uniform was immaculate, and she carried herself with a graceful confidence that immediately drew the class's attention.

"My name is Homura Akemi," she said softly but clearly, bowing politely. "It's a pleasure to meet you all."

"And so it begins" Manaka muttered under his breath he finally confirmed the visions weren't fake...now with this knowledge what would he do?, He still had that corrupted version of a soul gem, a grief seed it resembles both and there was also something he could feel in it, it felt like a single individual wish, was it of the witch he set free from his dream.

Did he absorb her despair and wish so she could be purified and her soul could be passed on?. But what did the girl wish for?.

Manaka sighed and just closed his eyes.

When I was young, I heard the voices of everyone around me clearly than any human, my senses were sensitive and people were always in woe of my ability to navigate without vision.

I have no eyes, so I could not experience colours, I could not see the faces of my loved one and I couldn't even see my own face.

The years passed and I still felt a tinge bit of pain when I couldn't see the faces of the person I was talking too, but one day I heard a voice.

The voice was strange, unfamiliar, and yet somehow comforting. It was neither warm nor cold, but calm, almost like the stillness of the world before dawn.

"I am Kyubey," the voice continued, unaffected by my confusion. "I've come to offer you something important."

I furrowed my brow, still not understanding. "Offer me what?"

"A wish," Kyubey said, and somehow, the weight of those words settled into me like an unavoidable truth. "A wish that will change your life, a wish that will give you the ability to see the world as you've always dreamed."

My pulse quickened. "What do you mean? I can't see. I can never see. You know that."

"Yes," Kyubey replied, his tone almost soothing, as if he understood. "But I can grant you the ability to see. Not just to see in the way others do, but to perceive things beyond ordinary sight—things that others cannot. In exchange, I will ask for something in return, of course."

"Something in return?" I echoed, hesitation creeping into my thoughts. "What do you want?"

"You will become a magical in exchange and fight beings who threatened the world, they are called witches" I felt my heart race at the mention of witches. My mind couldn't immediately grasp the weight of what Kyubey was offering—or what it meant. The idea of becoming a magical girl, of taking on the responsibility of protecting others from something as dangerous as witches, felt both thrilling and terrifying.

"But… becoming a magical girl?" I whispered, almost to myself. "What does that even mean? What would I have to do?"

"You would fight witches," Kyubey responded smoothly, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "These witches are born from despair, from the corruption of the human soul. They threaten the world with their power, and it is your role, as a magical girl, to stop them."

The idea was still foreign to me, but the pull of Kyubey's offer, the chance to finally see, to understand the world in ways I never could, kept me hanging onto his every word.

"And what's the cost? There must be one," I said, my voice faltering as I tried to gather the courage to continue this strange conversation.

Kyubey's voice softened, and his words were as chilling as they were sincere. "Every magical girl must make a contract. In exchange for your power, your wish, you will be bound to fight"

At that time I didn't think it was a bad choice so I took the chance and in the first time in years, I could see, colours, the faces of people that I loved.

When I told my loved ones about the fact that I could see, they were delighted.

But why, why do I feel such feelings coming from them.

Soon I was falling in love with the world more, I became a magical girl that use a bow to fight witches, at first they were scary but I got used to fighting them.

My life was going great.

Until.

"Hello, are you a person that used to live here?, We just found a huge criminal ring going on in this house but the perpetrators have escaped, we also didn't find the girl that was kidnapped fourteen years ago...sadly her parents died of depression

My heart skipped a beat when the officer spoke those words. The words "kidnapped fourteen years ago" hit me like a tidal wave. It was as though time had frozen around me, and the world blurred into nothingness for a moment.

The memories of the life I had before, the life I thought I had left behind, rushed to the surface. My childhood, the feeling of helplessness, and the family I once had—they all came flooding back in an instant. The memories of the life I couldn't see, the life I couldn't truly remember because I was blind, collided with the reality I now lived, one that was filled with color and wonder, yet clouded by something darker.

"Kidnapped?" I repeated quietly, more to myself than to the officer.

"Yes," the officer continued, his voice softening, perhaps noticing my shock. "Her name was Hina Maedi. The case was cold, but we recently uncovered evidence of a criminal operation tied to this house. It's all connected, but we couldn't find her…"

A sickening knot twisted in my stomach. Hina Maedi. The name stirred something deep within me, like an echo I couldn't place but couldn't ignore either. I felt a strange connection, as if this girl, this missing person, was more than just a name. Her fate had to be intertwined with mine.

"But… that means," I started, my voice shaking, "I… could be her? Is it possible that I'm the one they were looking for all along?"

The officer gave me a blank look, unsure of what I meant. But I wasn't talking to him anymore. I was lost in thought, trying to piece together the fragments of memories, of what I had become after I made that contract with Kyubey.

Was I Hina Maedi? Was I someone else entirely?.

Soon, I stood on a bridge a green gem was held in my hand and I watched as it slowly became polluted, I wanted to cry but I realised I couldn't and then.

My soul gem shattered and I became a witch.

Saihera.

I hate you for granting such a cursed Wish Kyubey.

Manaka opened his eyes, he could see far clearer than before and could also see multiple weak points. "Sigh... that's just sad"

Manaka wasn't in a mood to find out about the new girl and focused on class which was just the teacher complaining about eggs, he wondered if he was learning anything at all or should he just skip school the next time.
