Chapter 114: The Reality Breaker
'Are you sure it's him?'
[I can recognise his shining bald head anyway!]
Sitting on a simple chair in the library, with a mountain of books before me, I talked to Glutton as he found his target.
He wasn't hard to find. Glutton just searched the area around the inn he was in earlier and found him courting another girl in a restaurant.
That man was really hopeless.
And again, she was also an Exalted with Tier-1 mana core. There was no more doubt — He was obviously targeting them.
'Glutton,' I said inwardly, 'Remember to keep an eye on everything, including the people he contacts with and what they say to each other.'
[Tsk, fine. You have to reward me after all that.]
I ignored him and focused on the book ahead of me. It was talking about a very interesting topic.
Phantom wind.
I read after awakening my mana about this affinity, and knew it would phase through objects in higher levels, but I didn't understand that back then and couldn't do it until now.
But after reading this book, I understood its real potential.
It could phase through the thin, light, breathable objects. In other words, gases!
That was why it was called Phantom, and that was what I needed to increase my stealth.
The space affinity had a similar effect, but it was about phasing through the matter and space itself, which was harder to master and more aether consuming.
So for now, I had to focus on only phantom wind, and I was going to learn about space from the principal anyway.
Instantly, I stood up and left the library. Then I made a gate to return to my suite.
I was going to train seriously until I mastered it, so both Glutton and I could observe our targets more efficiently later.
And later today, I'd visit Zephyr for a small conversation.

[Liora's Pov]
"That hurt…"
Looking at a mirror, I touched my face softly, feeling the smooth skin of the face that was crushed earlier.
There was no pain now, but only remembering his foot stomping on my face was enough to send shivers down my spine.
"Was that really necessary…?"
I know I told him to not hold back, but that was my most painful experience until now, both physically and mentally.
But he was right.
I was relying too much on my illusion affinity. I wasn't experienced enough to make physical illusions yet. Once he countered my affinity, I lost miserably.
Though Raylin was aggressive, I couldn't deny that he showed me my weakness — That was a problem that needed to be solved as soon as possible.
I walked to the bed and lay on it instantly.
Feeling my body relaxing and smelling the fish scent on the bed, a mask materialized on my hand.
I examined the beautiful bright blue runes covering it and the soft cracks that added a strange charm to its beauty.
'If I used my mask back then, would the result be different…?'
That question lingered in my mind for a long second before shaking my head.
I couldn't use the Reality Breaker recklessly just for a spar. And if I did, the same problem would have happened again — I'd be relying too much on only one power.
Additionally, that would have gathered unwanted attention to me. I wasn't ready to face the consequences of using the mask in front of others.
I dismissed the mask instantly as our fight kept playing in my mind. I analysed all the abilities he had shown until now and how I could counter them.
In the end, one conclusion stayed in my mind.
'There was nothing I could do. He wasn't even fighting seriously...'
My eyes fell in depression for a moment, but it was replaced with determination soon after.
I had to improve quickly. For my future plans, I had to surpass all of them.
I pushed myself up and walked to the door. I was going to read about frost magic first, then challenge Raylin in a spar again to see my improvement.
And I wouldn't stop until I won.

[Raylin's Pov]
'I have a bad feeling for some reason.'
I shook my head and focused on my bracelet while taking a sip of coffee. I was getting many notifications about my store income, and I was really satisfied by the result.
A single Tier-3 artifact could be sold for 30k EC at least, and a single Tier-2 meal could be sold for 500 EC.
And from the number of notifications I got, I couldn't help but have a stupid smile on my face.
[We-We are rich!!]
My eyes twitched. 'We? Who is We? I'm rich — there is no such a thing like we.'
[Please…? Daddy?]
'Don't call me daddy!'
"You look happy, so happy for my liking." Zephyr suddenly said, his eyes narrowing dangerously.
I shrugged. "I have just become rich, nothing special."
Before he could insult my ancestors, I spoke again.
"Anyways, I just wanted to say that I'm observing my next target, and I'll be glad if you help me after catching him."
Zephyr nodded calmly. "I'll help, Cel is in the academy after all. But…" His lips twitched into a smirk, "I'll take half the spoils! Let them be his cores or even a mana stone — I'll take half of them!"
I didn't even flinch in response. I took a sip of coffee and looked him in the eyes.
"Did you forget that Glutton is included? He wants his share too."
[You… you are finally remembering me…?]
Zephyr laughed. "You think I don't know that you will take his share? I'm not stupid as him!"
[What!]
I calmly examined the luxurious suite, the one that belonged to Zephyr, and said: "Just like how you are sharing your suite with Cel, and will share those spoils too with her, right? If you can give your share to Cel, then Glutton can give his share to me."
I ignored Glutton that kept screaming in my head and looked at Zephyr gritting his teeth.
"Fine. 33% of them belong to me then."
I shook my head. "Then there is the fact that you will be there as only a backup. You don't have the items to catch him nor are you observing him like Glutton, so only 10% for you is a fair number."
"That's a scam!" Zephyr slammed his hand on the table, almost breaking the table in his fury.
"Then don't come with me," I grinned inwardly as I took another sip of coffee, "I don't force you to come anyway. I have everything prepared — I just wanted to take you as a backup. You will only keep watching in the best scenario."
Zephyr's face twitched in hesitation. His mouth opened and closed for many times before finally accepting.
"Fine… now leave my fucking suite! Cel will return soon."
I gave him a slight nod before standing up and leaving the suite.
Now, I only had to buy a few potions with my new hard-earned money and train with Selene for the rest of the day.
Thankfully, my current prey was only Tier-4. I didn't need to exaggerate too much.
