Reincarnated into a World Filled with Dungeons, But My Blessing Turned Out to Be the Most Challenging Dungeon

Chapter 13

“Huh? It doesn’t look any bigger…”

That was my first thought when I absorbed the water dungeon core. When I absorbed the fire dungeon core, the space had expanded, so I naturally thought the same would happen here.

“The core’s power is also used to expand space. If you’d like, I can use the core’s power to make it bigger for you.”

“Oh, I see…”

So that’s why the room didn’t suddenly expand. On the other hand, as long as I have the core, it seems I could potentially make the space quite a bit larger.

“No, it’s fine for now. But where’s the water?”

“I’ve made a room over there and placed it.”

An arrow appeared on the ground, pointing in the direction of the water. When I looked, I saw a partition and a door had been created in the corner of the room. As expected of Eve, who claimed to be the manager—she had anticipated my needs without me even giving any instructions.

I was impressed as I looked at the smooth, spherical form of Eve’s core, placed at the center of the pedestal when…

“Master, are you tired? Would you like me to prepare a bed?”

Eve seemed to think I was exhausted and offered her suggestion.

“No, I need to head back soon, so it’s fine.”

It had been quite a while since I left home. My father was probably awake by now. I decided to go back home for a bit.

“Sorry for the wait.”

After returning home, I opened the door without any sign of what I had been up to, and sure enough, my father was awake. He asked, “Oh, you went out?”

I responded, “I woke up early from sleeping too much, so I went for a walk.”

Afterward, we had a late breakfast together when, unexpectedly, Selene arrived.

She said, “I need you urgently,” so once again, I found myself heading to the Explorer’s Guild.

“I’m sorry to bother you so soon after yesterday.”

The Guild Master spoke to me with a concerned tone.

“No problem at all.”

I answered, and the Guild Master continued,

“By the way, have you ever thought about going to the capital?”

“Huh? The capital?”

I asked, confused by the sudden question.

“I’ll explain it now.”

With that, a piece of paper slid across the table toward me.

“What’s this?”

“This is a recommendation letter for the Royal Comprehensive Academy.”

“Why would I need something like that?”

“Because you’re too valuable to be wasted in this town.”

I had understood that the Guild Master recognized some worth in me, but this was a bit more than I had expected.

“Typically, after undergoing the Blessing Ceremony, people go to school for three years to gain the necessary qualifications. Those blessed with the Blessing of Battle would become knights or warriors. Those who can use magic would study to become magicians. Everyone goes to different schools in town to develop their skills.”

That much I already knew. After my Blessing Ceremony, I had been told a similar thing. But for me…

“However, there are no decent schools for other types of talent in this town. You could call them ‘specialized’ abilities, but most of them are pretty useless. After graduation, most people end up working at the dungeon entrance or doing simple town jobs.”

I had heard this too. Rex and Miranda had invited me to join them as explorers in the future, but I knew that most specialized Blessings were of little use.

“But I’ve already planned to attend the town’s specialized school.”

“The Royal Comprehensive Academy is looking for outstanding talents. With three recommendations from influential people, you can gain the right to take the entrance exam.”

When I heard that, I looked directly at the Guild Master.

I met eyes with the Guild Master, the Sub-Master, and Selene.

“I understand that both of you support me…”

But would that be enough? Wasn’t I still lacking the required number of recommendations?

“Well, I’m recommending you too,” Selene spoke up.

“Selene, you?”

“Honestly, the schools in the capital are filled with elitism. Even talented children from our town can end up being considered ordinary there. So, this isn’t something I’m forcing you into.”

Memories of a harsh past resurfaced—the crushing reality that followed an arduous entrance exam.

“That’s true. I’m not saying I reject the idea of staying in the town, getting a decent education, and pursuing an appropriate career.”

The time I spent in my previous life came rushing back. No matter the world, I had always just worked within the given environment, doing my part.

“Moreover, I’ve heard that jobs in the capital are far more dangerous. If you seek peace, this suggestion might be a bit forward.”

But after all, I had been reincarnated into this new world. I now had a future that I believed in. And with it, the power to shape that future…

“Everything depends on you, Erik.”

When I heard Selene’s words, I placed my hand on the recommendation letter and…

“I’ll take the exam. I want to try.”

This would be my biggest opportunity since arriving in this world, and I wasn’t about to let it slip away.
