Chapter 25: Practising
Other kids his age were still playing with mud, and he was snapping his meridians practicing martial arts. That statement itself was outrageous!
Letting a long suffering sigh she regarded him sternly. "What about your meridians? Are they okay?"
Wu Tian quickly nodded. He then told her how he had started and how he had unblocked his meridians and discovered the eternal energy. He then told her of how he had received the mysterious martial technique in his mind when he woke up.
Lin Qing out another sigh, she really felt worried for the secrets in Wu Tian's body. She was wise enough to know that there was nothing for free in this world.
The greater the reward the greater the responsibility and danger. All the amazing abilities Wu Tian showed definitely meant that his origin was extraordinary and extraordinary events would be attracted to him.
Extraordinary abilities attracted extraordinary trouble, it was inevitable even if one did not go to seek them out. Lin Qing could only resolve herself to teach him well and be ready be able to bear his burdens before he grew
In a training yard Wu Tian was training, however the scene when he was training was extremely strange. He was lifting a huge rock three times his size, pumping up and down. The scene was extremely incompatible but harmonious.
This strange scene was due to Wu Tian training his body. In the martial arts he had deduced, it showed that the martial way was not inferior at all to the cultivation path. They were all ways of elevating the level of one's life.
However, the way of martial arts was a bit different from the cultivation path; cultivation depended on refining the spiritual qi to elevate the soul. Each refinement would strengthen and purify the soul until finally the cultivator would form a nascent soul.
A nascent soul was quite formidable, with sufficient refinement it was said that one could that could exist even without the body. With just their nascent soul they could fly to the heavens and sink to the depths of the earth.
The strengthening of the soul strengthened the body so that even if cultivators didn't train their body so that even a cultivator would have an extremely body in relation to their cultivation level . However from what he observed, the martial way involved training the body to excavate the potential within it.
As one trained the body, it then elevated the soul. Wu Tian surmised that Cultivators had a strong body and a weaker soul while martial artists had a stronger body and a weaker soul.
He however didn't know if this was just in the beginning stages of cultivation or throughout . Since he couldn't cultivate he had decided to train the martial arts manual while he waited for the transformation in his soul to complete.
In the manual, it showed that the method of martials arts in this world were a bit wrong. It actually required one to first temper the whole body so that they could produce true qi. This true qi would enable them to stand on the same level as cultivators.
This body tempering stage began from strength training where one trained the muscles, then skin strengthening, flesh training, bone tempering , refining viscera and finally blood burning where one tempered the bone marrow to produce denser blood. After this it would be harmonizing the body before finally on produced True qi.
He estimated that a person in this realm would perhaps match someone in the foundation establishment realm. Wu Tian's situation was a bit special though, his body alone was born from heaven and earth through the eternal crystal.
His constitution and potential in the body was monstrous and unprecedented. His body had also been strengthened greatly when he had absorbed the intense spiritual qi during the aptitude testing incident.
Although most of it had been devoured by his soul some of it had been integrated into his body. This had raised his bodily strength by quite a large margin, dor the current Wu Tian practicing martial arts feel like adding wings to a tiger.
Wu Tian did his ninety ninth push, he felt his arms tremble and muscles burn. Sweat dripped down his body and he felt as if his tendons would burn.
He felt tempted to drop the boulder but he persevered and slowly pushed it up for the hundredth time. He heaved a weary breath and wearily dropped the heavy boulder.
He didn't even sit down to circulate the martial technique and recover. He simply relied on his senses to determine the direction and mechanically walked in a certain direction.
He simply made his way into a room where he directly fell into his parents embrace and started to sob. Lin Qing worriedly held him and looking at his body shared an understanding expression with Wu Zemin.
She simply held him while he cried himself to sleep. She then had the maids bathe and put him to much needed sleep.
Wu Tian woke up the next day and slowly limped his way to the training courtyard. He remembered how he had cried in his parents embrace yesterday and felt his face heat up in embarrassment .
He pushed the though from his mind and decided to solve his issue first. Step by step he made his way to the grounds and observed it for a while, he then took a deep breath and squeezed his aching body into his training attire.
He then stood before the boulder and looked at it hesitantly. He felt his aching arms and legs, his still sore muscles.
He looked at his tender hands filled with raw blisters. The maids had treated them with herbs and medicines bit he knew that it would get even worse if he picked up that boulder again.
He felt his heart lurch when he thought about the exertion and pain it would cause. He really wondered why he was doing this ,he could simply wait out the three years and then start cultivating
Cultivation wasn't as strenuous; it didn't require pushing one's body to the limit. It was rather enjoyable from what he had heard, so he wondered why he had come back.
"Should I leave? Just wait out these three years? I'm not in dire need to get stronger anyway. " he tried to make excuses to give up his training, but in his heart there was a strong unyielding feeling. His heart resisted with all his might.
He couldn't get himself to give it up. "No, I can't give up, if I give up now who's to stay I won't give up when I face challenges in the future. The fights I saw in my memories show that the cultivation world is not a place for the faint hearted. I have to have a persevering will."
With this thought he bent to pick up the boulder.
