REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO

Chapter 204: ENGAGING THE BOSS

Just when the blaze of fire was about to slam into Noah, a sphere of water was conjured again out of thin air, swallowing the flames whole.

And this time, everyone saw it clearly... the very same force that had saved them moments ago.

Mouths hung open in shock. Even Noah froze, his eyes widening.

During the chaos earlier, he had caught a glimpse of it, Logan raising his hand, a swirl of water forming, then swelling into a massive sphere that devoured the wyvern's flames. At that time, Noah had dismissed it. He thought maybe it was a one-time trick, some stored mana burst, or perhaps the effect of a rare artifact.

Because yes, he knew Logan was strong. But this? This was something else entirely.

Now, seeing it happen again, doubt was no longer an option. Noah was shaken to his core.

That power… that overwhelming flow of mana… it was unbelievable.

And Logan was capable of doing something like that?!

Noah could feel it. Logan hadn't reached the level of an S-class hunter and his magical tier was still below Tier 5. The only reason he could neutralize that hellish breath was because of his water affinity.

But even so… Logan stood far above any A-class hunter now.

Noticing the flicker of doubt on Noah's face, Ali smirked—like a craftsman quietly proud of the masterpiece he had forged.

Everyone who witnessed it was shaken.

And Leonard? His expression twisted, caught between disbelief and rage.

While the hunters were still dazed, the wyvern let out a deafening roar that shook the battlefield. Its fury knew no bounds. Then its gaze locked onto Logan.

As if challenged, the beast lunged straight toward him, hovering inches above the ground with murderous intent.

Noticing this, Ali finally felt relieved. "Good. Now we can lure it away."

Logan had already done what Ali had intended, without even realizing it.

"Aiden, take it away!" Ali's voice tore through the battlefield.

Logan didn't even glance back. He simply lifted his right hand and gave a light wave, signaling he understood what had to be done.

A moment later, with another sweep of his hand, countless wind blades burst forth, whistling sharply as they slashed through the air.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Scales shattered and scattered from the wyvern's body, but it didn't even flinch. Its massive frame surged forward, ignoring the wounds, eyes locked solely on Logan.

And just like that, as the boss began to shift away from the main battlefield, the monsters on the ground seemed to awaken from their stupor. Their rampage resumed in full force, tearing back into the hunters with renewed ferocity.

The hunters, shaken but no longer paralyzed, roared back into the fight. They hurled themselves at the monsters, desperation mixing with fresh energy—and doubts.

But Leonard remained still.

His gaze never left the distant clash where Logan and the wyvern drove each other backward strike after strike. His eyes had seen the truth. His mind had already accepted it.

But his heart?

It twisted with hatred, darker and sharper than before.

Now that he truly knew what Logan was capable of, the weight of that truth only deepened his rage. His chest burned, not with awe, but with a venomous ache that demanded vengeance.

Ali and Noah joined in, pushing the boss further and further away. The farther it was dragged from the main battlefield, the lower the risk and the fewer casualties among the hunters.

Multiple fireballs blazed from Ali's palm, slamming into the wyvern with thunderous explosions.

Enraged, the beast reared its head back and unleashed another torrent of fire. But Noah stepped forward, his hand rising. With a single wave, an invisible wall of air materialized, hurling the flames back at the wyvern itself.

Boom!

The wall shattered under the force, flickering away into nothingness. But it had already done its job.

The redirected blaze crashed into the monster, blasting it off balance. With a deafening bang, the wyvern was slammed into the ground. The moment its massive body struck, the earth caved in, creating a crater as clouds of dust erupted into the air.

But the monster didn't stay down for long. With a thunderous beat of its wings, it soared back into the air. Tilting its head, wings bent and shrieking with a piercing sound, it spun from right to left in a sweeping arc, unleashing a storm of fire so wide it looked impossible to deflect or defend against with any trick.

Both Noah and Ali raised barriers of air to shield themselves. Logan too stepped forward, conjuring a towering wall of water that swallowed the flames rushing his way.

By now they had drawn the boss farther from the main battlefield. The firestorm engulfed only the surroundings, tearing through buildings and laying waste to everything in its path, but thankfully, no one was hurt.

Meanwhile, in the heart of the battlefield, Gideon's party had thrown themselves back into the fray. Ronald's spear crackled with lightning, each thrust reducing goblins and dire wolves to corpses in a blur of sparks. Jessi fought with twin blades of ice, slicing through monsters one by one with graceful precision. Melissa and Luna burned their enemies to ash in a storm of flames, their combined fire turning the horde into smoldering wreckage.

Lilith fought in her damn care style, tearing through wave after wave, sometimes with blades of wind, sometimes with arcs of lightning, her movements wild yet devastating. Gideon's fireballs and air blades shredded the orcs that dared charge forward, refusing to let them press the assault.

Yet, even as they fought fiercely, one image remained etched in their minds.

Logan's last act.

Not just Gideon's party, the same thought lingered in the hearts of many others as well.

The power he had displayed at that age, it wasn't just impressive. It was impossible. At least, until now.

And Leo? And his party? Their suspicions only grew heavier.

"Just who was this kid, really?"

Was he the same one they had seen during the last dungeon break… standing alongside the third prince, Rowan Hale?
