Jolie tilted her head back and laughed from exasperation. She directed cursed Maria with out thinking twice.

"Now you see the outcome of devoting your self to loving people who are ungrateful for five years, Melissa! We smell poverty? But...how have you been copping up with this?

Well guess that's you...me , l can't."

Jolie moved forwards as she spoke and shoved Maria who stumbled and almost fell down.

"Let me spit it out on your face, oldie! If it weren't for Melissa l wouldn't have heard about the name Reynolds till l die. Your just a nouveau riche with measly money.

Now watch me stain this cheap tiles on your floor. If you dare, stop me. You old wrinkly."

With so much fear , Maria trembled as she pointed at Melissa and Jolie, then she tried to threaten them.

"I...l will kick you out of Reynolds family, Melissa!"

"Don't bother, l already kicked myself from the Reynolds. Just come for my staffs "

Melissa replied , which Maria never expected.

After that Melissa ignored Maria's shock gaze as she walked pass her to their bedroom.

Maria's never for once had seen Melissa as her daughter in-law, for her, she want a daughter in-law to come from a prestigious family not just a nobody. But Melissa never complained about Maria trampling her again and again.

But now, she didn't have to put up with that anymore.

She took nothing but the documents she come for, not even her old worn-out clothes she used to wear, then she went straight down stairs.

Meanwhile, jolie and Maria who were downstairs were still exchanging words with each other.

When jolie saw Melissa coming down stairs, she raised her head .

" Your done?"

Melissa simply nodded.

"We have no business here, let's go."

Maria wasn't pleased at Melissa's behaviour toward her that day that she still yelled.

"Don't think this is your house, where you come in and leave at anythime you want.. am going to tell Evans about what you did today...and even if one day you come back begging on your knees, l will still kick you out."

With that threat, Maria thought that Melissa would get scared and comeback. But she was shocked when she reach outside and slowly turned back and shouted.

"I forgot to tell you... We're divorcing by the month ends, so even if you one day come crying and beging in your knees, l Melissa will never step back to your house again.

As soon as Melissa finished her speech, she left without looking back.

Maria was so stunned when she heard about a divorce.

"Why is Melissa..so willing to get a divorce?" She thought.

She immediately called her son to confirm if it's true about the divorce.

"Did you give Melissa a divorce?."

Evans was so surprised since he hadn't told anyone about the divorce issue.

"How did you know? Did...you see her?

"Your really getting divorced, that's great news and it calms for a celebration. Besides that kind of a woman is not worthy being a Reynolds.

Don't worry, there high born ladies waiting for you to marry them."

Hearing this , Evans eyes sank. His voice inexplicably become urgent.

"Where's she? Is she back home?"

He impatiently interrupted his mother's rumbles.

Ever since Melissa's mysterious disappearance at the the hospital, left him with no trace about her whereabouts. And now she finally appeared on her own.

To Evans, only one thought clinged in his mind. " I want to see her ! "

"Oh .. about that! She come home , but she left.

This reminds me, l need to check my staff, just Incase she stole anything, and ...hope your not going to give her mich money for the divorce, right!"

However Evans was a little suprised on his mother's malicious act towards Melissa. He had always thought that Melissa and her family get along with each other.

How would he knows? When he barely paid attention to his wife.

"She didn't ask for a penny."

Atleast she's self aware! Maria's coldly anorted.

Evans eyes darkened as he hunged the phone call, that news of Melissa's appearance made him even more unsettled.

"Wait, did Melissa ask for a divorce because of my mother?"

The way Maria talked on the phone also made Evans to imagine other things about the divorce.

As the sun went dusk, although he rarely went home, this time he went home , everything was untouched, not to talked of the card that he gave her for monthly expanse, was not even touched, only her documents in the drawer were gone.

Soon Maria come out of her room screaming,
