Reverend Insanity: The Goody Two-Shoes System

With a wave of his hand, Paradise Earth Immortal sent Fang Yuan elsewhere within the Blessed Land. Genesis Lotus was not where he had been last time. Instead, his will was lounging just outside a small but elegant bamboo building in its shade.

Fang Yuan approached, crossed his arms, and waited for him to say something.

And then he waited...

And waited...

And continued waiting...

Ultimately, Fang Yuan gave up and just asked Genesis Lotus, "How have you been?"

"Oh, I've been fine. I can't complain," Genesis Lotus said. "I am just a will, after all. I've been working on a few more paintings. Also considered finishing another version of my memoir to give to the Heavenly Court so that its members can learn from my experiences."

"Really, is your memoir called 'My Struggle' by any chance?" Fang Yuan asked.

"No, it isn't," Genesis Lotus said. "I was actually thinking of calling it something like 'Seeds of the Future' or 'Harvest of the Heavenly Lotus' or something good like that. 'My Struggle' doesn't really seem to suit my memoir, Fang Yuan. As it is, I think something like 'My Perseverance' would probably roll off the tongue better if that was something you were considering for your own memoir."

Fang Yuan grunted and glared at the will. "Genesis Lotus, how can you possibly be so shameless?"

"Shameless? Me?" Genesis Lotus asked, then scoffed. "And who's asking me this question- Fang Yuan?"

"What else do you expect me to call you other than shameless?" Fang Yuan asked. "You attacked me last time we were here-"

"No, no, I didn't attack you," Genesis Lotus said. "I merely helped you out with your cultivation. See? You're already Rank 4 peak stage. How could that have happened without my help?"

"Because of you, I had to go through multiple hardships, and the Spring Autumn Cicada had been taken from me! Not only that, I was trapped on Qing Mao Mountain like a prisoner!" Fang Yuan shouted.

"But did you die?" Genesis Lotus asked. "And as far as I can see, the Spring Autumn Cicada is still in your aperture. It isn't my fault you let it go..."

"You attacked me and I demand compensation!" Fang Yuan shouted.

"You know, I'll tell you what," Genesis Lotus said, pulling something out of thin air. "Here, I made a portrait of you. Why don't you take this as an apology?"

He handed the portrait to Fang Yuan, who frowned. The portrait did depict someone who looked like Fang Yuan, but there was clearly something off.

"Why have you drawn me as a woman?" Fang Yuan asked. It depicted Fang Yuan with softer features in a bright red dress with a lily in his long, flowing hair, and while that could be taken either way there was no doubt that this person was supposed to be a woman when one noticed the size of the breasts that Genesis Lotus had painted on her, which rivaled even Bai Ning Bing's.

"Oh, I thought that you would have taken that Dollhouse's offer," Genesis Lotus said. "And that you'd have turned yourself into a woman by this point. I guess I was wrong. Anyway, in anticipation of that, I decided to prepare that portrait for you. What do you think about it, Fang Yuan?"

Fang Yuan: ...

"I'm waiting for an answer? Or did my brushwork truly make you speechless?"

Fang Yuan replied by putting his fist through the portrait.

"Now, come on, Fang Yuan, you're no fun at all," Genesis Lotus said, taking the portrait away from him. "Now, what can I do for you?"

"Several things," Fang Yuan said. "You can start by actually giving me appropriate compensation, starting with this: I have an issue regarding plants back in my clan. They're called Moon Orchids and-"

"Yes, I know what Moon Orchids are," Genesis Lotus said with a wave of his hand. Fang Yuan didn't know how that was possible, given that first gen Gu Yue had been the one to develop them. But then again, he wasn't going to sit here arguing with a Venerable about how they knew something. "Oh, I think I can, as a matter of fact, help you with that. A very small matter, as a matter of fact for someone like me. But there's something else that we have to discuss. You still have that painting of mine, which was a blank canvas, correct?"

Fang Yuan nodded.

"I don't see it with you, however," Genesis Lotus said.

"That's because it's back in Gu Yue village," Fang Yuan said.

"Right, now, Fang Yuan, I'm sure that Paradise Earth has already spoken to you about your immortal ascension," Genesis Lotus said. "And that painting was supposed to help you with your immortal ascension. However, there is more to it than that. If you want to ascend as a Human Path Gu Master, you must do it in a place which is filled with Human Path dao marks for best results. I want you to take that painting to a large populated area, like Shang Clan City, for example. Once you do, you will start to understand what it entails, and then it truly will help you ascend to immortality."

"Is that it?" Fang Yuan asked. "You're not even going to give me anything else for what you did?"

"Fang Yuan, you know what they say about greed - it is like a bottomless well that will never be filled no matter how much you throw into it," Genesis Lotus said. "Don't be so greedy..."

"How can I not be? When the future of my clan is at stake? When Lord Sky Crane could return with reinforcements at any time? When the Dollhouse will be discovered it will attract the attention of every single-"

"No need to worry about Lord Sky Crane," Genesis Lotus said. "Or the Dollhouse being discovered. At least for now. That little bit has been taken care of, you're welcome, by the way. As for your little Moon Orchid issue." He materialized in his hand what looked like a long, dark blue colored vine, about one meter in length with some white flowers growing on it that glowed with a slight silvery hue. "This is a Moon and Stars Support Vine Gu, a Rank 4 Gu worm. Put your primeval essence into it, and it will grow all over the place where you're growing the Moon Orchids. As long as it's given enough primeval essence, even if that's given by multiple Rank 1 Gu Masters, it can sustain and nurture the growth of moon and star-based plants, such as the Moon Orchids. It needs nothing for food other than to be kept in the dark and given enough water."

Fang Yuan took the vine and placed it in his aperture. Needless to say that he was still unsatisfied with everything. He then began saying, "Is this it? Just a single Rank 4 gu worm? I didn't expect the former leader of the Heavenly Court to be so poor as to-"

Before he could finish his sentence, Genesis Lotus had already waved his hand, and Fang Yuan found himself outside the Blessed Land.

"Fang Yuan, take a look at that painting again, perhaps you will understand something!" a voice echoed in Fang Yuan's head, but there was no other response from Genesis Lotus Immortal Venerable.

Fang Yuan got on the Hundred Li Earthwolf Spider and began burrowing his way back to Gu Yue village.
