Chapter 20: Rusa
Subaru was in his room, has he was holding a paper and writing something, but he was having a problem, trying too translate his world Langues into this ones, the way he did was use his own Japanese Language, the use Kararagi Langues which was similar to Japan then Translate to Lugunica common tong, to say his brain was frying was something else, as for the First story be picked Copy from his world was Naruto, he was writing this like a light novel, but he was something in the story like Naruto knew who his parents was.
[Minerva then spoke. "Let me help"]
Hero spirit then left the hanging garden and came out Subaru Body as she picked up the pen, as she floating and started too write his idea, after he took in the witch factor Pirde the witch can now interact with the world, even if he still was the only one who can see and even hear them
Subaru sighed as he massaged his temples. His brain felt like it had been thrown into a blender. Translating Japanese into Kararagi's dialect, then converting that into Lugunican common tongue, was a nightmare. He had always taken modern printing and publishing for granted, but now, without a laptop or proper printing presses, every word had to be manually written.
Minerva floated beside him, her golden hair swaying slightly as she effortlessly moved the pen across the parchment.
"You're overthinking it, idiot," she muttered, not even looking at him as she wrote. "The story itself is simple enough. The problem is that you keep trying to make it perfect on the first try."
Subaru groaned, slumping over his desk. "I have to make it perfect! This is my big moneymaker! I don't have time to write a half-baked version and then rewrite it later!"
Minerva rolled her eyes. "Then let me handle the writing. You just dictate it to me. That way, you don't fry your brain trying to translate while writing."
Subaru perked up. "Wait… that actually makes sense. You're surprisingly useful."
[Minerva smirked. "Obviously."]
As Minerva continued to write, Pandora appeared on his other side, resting her chin on her hand as she observed the work.
"Such an interesting story," she mused. "A boy with a demon sealed inside him, ostracized by his village, but destined for greatness. It's almost poetic."
Subaru shuddered slightly. Having Pandora this close was always unsettling. Unlike Minerva, who had an explosive temper but a good heart, Pandora was… unpredictable.
"I guess you could say that," Subaru muttered, scratching his cheek. "But I'm also tweaking it a little. Naruto knowing about his parents from the start changes his whole motivation. Instead of chasing recognition, he's fighting for his father's legacy."
[Pandora chuckled. "A fascinating alteration. Though I wonder, are you perhaps projecting yourself into this story?"]
Subaru just looked at her almost like she grown a second. "No?".
Minerva looked at her as she spoke. "By the gods, Pandora I thought you were smart, he is just gonna publish this as fictional story in a Pen name, Lugunica has enough story's like that anyway, your pen name was".
Subaru looked at them as he spoke. "Rusa".
[Pandora tilted her head, repeating the name. "Rusa... Hmm, short and simple. Not bad. It sounds mysterious enough, though not as grand as I expected from you."]
Subaru shrugged. "I don't need it to be grand. I just need it to be believable. If I make it sound like an old Kararagi name, it'll add some credibility. Plus, no one will suspect that a commoner like me is writing something this refined."
[Minerva smirked. "Refined? You're literally stealing stories from your world."]
Subaru rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, keep rubbing it in. But this is my way of making money without getting stabbed or cursed. If I can sell these as high-quality fiction, I can slowly build up a fortune."
[Pandora clapped her hands together, smiling. "Oh, I do love seeing ambition! But tell me, Rusa, what exactly do you plan to do once you've built up your wealth?"]
Subaru leaned back in his chair, exhaling. "Simple. I'll use it to fund The Witch Hand. If I want to wipe out the Witch Cult, I need resources. Money opens doors, lets me hire people, train, get information... and maybe, maybe, I can influence the world enough to stop another catastrophe before it happens."
[Minerva raised an eyebrow. "Not bad. For an idiot, you think ahead more than I expected."]
Subaru smirked. "Gee, thanks."
Pandora, however, still had that unreadable expression. "So, in the end, you will use the power of fiction to shape reality. How poetic."
Subaru frowned. "When you say it like that, it sounds weird."
[Pandora just giggled. "Oh, don't mind me, darling~ I just find it fascinating how you walk between lines of fate so casually. But very well. Let us see how far your Rusa persona can take you."]
As the night stretched on, Subaru dictated while Minerva wrote. Pandora hummed in amusement as she read over their work. And deep within Subaru's mind, the other Witches watched silently, each of them intrigued by the path he was beginning to carve.
Subaru stretched, his bones cracking as he let out a long yawn. "Finally, we're done… Man, I haven't pulled an all-nighter like this since my old world."
[Minerva, still floating beside him, stretched her arms out as well, even though she didn't need to. "You're making me feel tired, and I'm a spirit, damn it."]
Subaru chuckled. "Yeah, yeah. Thanks for the help, though. I couldn't have done this without you."
[Minerva's face turned slightly red as she turned away. "W-Well, don't get used to it. I just didn't want to see you screw it up."]
Subaru smirked, then looked at the completed manuscript. The cover page had a carefully drawn illustration—Naruto in the center, standing determinedly, the swirling forms of the Nine Tails looming behind him. Beside him was the Third Hokage, with a shadowy figure in the background—Orochimaru.
"This is only Volume 1," Subaru muttered, running his fingers along the page. "There's still so much more to the story."
Before Minerva could respond, Echidna's spirit emerged from Subaru's body, holding several pieces of glowing parchment. She looked unusually excited. "Ah, Subaru! Perfect timing. Pandora and I have completed the foundations for the Witch's Hand."
[Pandora appeared beside her, a sly smile playing on her lips as she waved a stack of ethereal papers. "Indeed~ And I must say, darling, our plans are quite efficient."]
Subaru rubbed his eyes. "Already? You two were planning this the entire time?"
[Echidna adjusted her glasses, looking smug. "Of course. You gave me an interesting problem, so naturally, I had to find the most optimal solution."]
[Pandora giggled. "It was so much fun. We structured it like a shadow organization, with layers of secrecy, independent cells, and enough plausible deniability that even if someone suspects us, they won't be able to trace it back to you."]
Subaru blinked. "You guys… made me a crime syndicate."
[Echidna huffed. "No, we made you a covert anti-cult task force. But, well… the execution may resemble a criminal empire."]
[Minerva sighed. "Yeah, that tracks."]
Subaru sighed as he took the papers from Echidna. "Alright, let's see what kind of insanity you two cooked up…"
As he started reading through the plans, he felt something deep inside him shift—this was it. The first step in truly reshaping this world.
Subaru groaned, rubbing his temples as [Satella's voice echoed in his mind."I told you you were making a criminal organization when you said those words in the Hanging Garden two days ago."]
"Okay, okay, I get it already," Subaru muttered mentally. "But in my defense, I thought it would be more like a secret hero group, not… whatever this is."
[Echidna smirked. "Oh, it can be a hero group. Just one that operates outside the law, in the shadows, using methods that may or may not be considered morally gray~."]
Subaru sighed. "You really have a way with words, don't you?"
[Pandora giggled, leaning close. "I must admit, I love the aesthetic of it all. The Witch's Hand, moving unseen, striking from the darkness… Doesn't it sound thrilling, darling~?"]
Subaru pinched the bridge of his nose. "This is how villains are made…"
[Minerva, arms crossed, nodded in agreement. "I hate to say it, but Satella kinda has a point."]
[Satella's voice returned in his mind, sounding oddly pleased. "I always have a point, Subaru."]
Subaru then sighed, looking at the Volume 1 of Naruto. "I wonder how I am going too publish this"
The door was knocked as Emilia voice came. "Subaru are you awake, I am going to the capital to buy something".
The witch went back inside, back to the hanging garden, as Subaru got up, as he was ready too do trh work of Emilia body guard as he ready his Knight Killer and Assassin Killer Dagger. As it put the Volume 1 of Naruto in his inventory wondering if he can find someone there
[Sekhmet then spoke in his mind. "Will that solves that problem]
Subaru then opened the door too see Emilia, who was with Elsa and Emilia ready too go, as he follows them into the carriage.
Few hours later in the capital, a certain man, in his 20 was looking at a paper as he saw this year's too sellers as he put the paper down..
The man sighed as he spoke. "Now days story done have that zing, that excitement, at this rate my publishing company won't be unique Anymore"
Regis Halcrow leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples in frustration. His publishing company, Silver Quill Publishing, had once been one of the most innovative in the kingdom, but lately, nothing truly fresh had come across his desk. Every manuscript was either a tired retelling of ancient Lugunican legends or uninspired romance dramas.
"Where's the passion? The thrill?" he muttered, drumming his fingers on the table.
Just then, the door to his office creaked open, and his assistant, a young woman with glasses and a neat ponytail, peeked in.
"Sir Regis, there's a young man asking if we accept new manuscripts. Should I send him away?"
Regis raised an eyebrow. "Hmm? A new writer?"
"He claims to have something revolutionary," she added skeptically.
Regis sighed. Another amateur who thinks their story is groundbreaking… but something in his gut told him to at least hear the kid out.
"Send him in."
Moments later, the door opened, and Subaru stepped inside, holding a single book in his hands—Volume 1 of Naruto.
Regis studied him for a moment. The boy didn't look like a scholar or a nobleman, but his confident (if slightly exhausted) expression intrigued him.
Subaru walked up to the desk and placed the book down. "I hear you're looking for something new."
Regis raised an eyebrow as he picked up the book, flipping through the pages. The title, the art, the sheer structure of it—this was unlike anything he'd ever seen.
"Interesting…" he murmured. Then he looked up at Subaru. "Tell me, Mr. Rusa—what exactly is this?"
Subaru smirked. "A new kind of story. One that'll change everything."
Regis Halcrow flipped through the pages of Naruto, his sharp eyes scanning the text with increasing curiosity. The writing style was different from anything he'd seen before—structured like a light novel, with dynamic dialogue and fast-paced storytelling.
"This… isn't written like a typical Lugunican tale," Regis muttered, running a hand over the cover. "And this art… it's not the kind of illustration usually commissioned for stories here."
Subaru grinned, leaning slightly on the desk. "That's because it's something entirely new. It's called a light novel—a story that combines fast-paced writing with simple yet engaging prose, meant to keep readers hooked. And as for the art, well, that's what makes it stand out on shelves."
Regis tapped his finger on the cover, deep in thought. "A story about a young outcast with a powerful beast inside him, fighting for recognition… It's compelling, but does it have the depth to keep readers invested long-term?"
Subaru smirked. "Volume one is just the beginning. The world is massive, the characters grow over time, and the conflicts get deeper. Trust me—once people get hooked, they won't be able to stop."
Regis sat back, studying Subaru carefully. There was confidence in the boy's voice, not arrogance, but the certainty of someone who knew exactly what he was offering.
He sighed, placing the book on the desk. "Publishing something like this will be risky. It's unfamiliar. It might not sell."
Subaru didn't flinch. "Or it could be the biggest hit you've ever seen."
Regis chuckled. "You've got guts, I'll give you that. But I don't make decisions based on gut feelings alone." He leaned forward. "I'll need a test run. We'll publish a small batch—let's say a hundred copies—and see how they sell. If they do well, we'll talk about expanding."
Subaru grinned. "Sounds fair to me."
Regis extended a hand. "Then we have a deal, Mr. Rusa."
Subaru shook his hand, sealing the agreement.
As Subaru left the office, he couldn't help but grin to himself. Step one complete. Now… let's see just how well this world reacts to anime and manga.
Regis looked at him as he spoke. "So quick question, how shall I contact you".
Subaru then gave his address, as Regis recognise it was in Emilia camp, but he didn't care. "By letter i am not in the capital".
Regis looked at him as he spoke. "Fine you got deal for now, but if this flops better luck next time".
Subaru Smirked as he left, as Regis then sighed as throught this was going too file.
In the day of the release, Subaru was with Regis, as he was in one of the books store, as was just there pretending to look for a book, as some people had picked up the first Volume for Naruto as they read and then went too the counter, then he looked at the woman who was reading the first Volume with a smile, she is woman in a dark cloak stepped forward, her silver hair, fair skin and yellow eyes, as she looked at Subaru.
The Woman looked at him as she spoke looking directly at him. "This story is gonna do well in the future, Mr Author".
Subaru was taken back as he looked at her. "How did figure out if was me?".
The woman looked as she continued. "Oh I have my ways, but I do say, as your first buyers I can't wait too see what happens next".
Subaru scrathe the back of his head. "Um year thanks".
The woman then spoke looking at him. "Where is my manners allow me too Interduce my self, my name is Shaule".
Subaru then speak. "Wait as in t-"
Shaule looked at him as she spoke. "No I am not Shaula from your history book, even if my pronounced the same way, it has en E in then end, but anyway I hope too see more of this book during my vacation in Lugunica, untill then Bye"
As she left the store as Subaru felt she was gonna be someone important in the future
2 days later Regis was ordering his men too publish more do Naruto the test bass was already sold and more people wanted one to read then self not just read the book there friends. Regis stared at the growing pile of order requests on his desk, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the wood. His "test batch" had vanished almost instantly, and demand had exploded overnight.
"This was supposed to be a gamble… but I might've just struck gold."
One of his assistants rushed in, panting. "Sir! We just got word that Sword Saint Reinhard himself purchased a copy!"
Regis raised an eyebrow. "Reinhard Astrea?"
The assistant nodded. "Yes! And not just that—apparently, he's been recommending it to others in the capital. Nobles, merchants, even the knights!"
Regis ran a hand through his hair, trying to process the situation. "A light novel, a completely foreign concept, is now trending because the strongest man in the kingdom decided he liked it? What in the world did I just get myself into…?"
He sighed, standing up. "Alright, double the production. No—triple it. We're not letting this momentum slip."
As his workers scrambled to execute his orders, Regis sat back and chuckled. That kid, Rusa… If he has more stories like this, I might just have to keep him around.
Subaru sighed again, slumping back in his chair. "This is going to be a headache…"
