Rizz Taoist Master [A Reverend Insanity Fanfiction]

Chapter 28: Onii-chan, Daijoubu? (Part Two)

The academy alpha was a Rank 3 OG, only Rank 3 Gu Masters drop that silver-white mana. Rank 1 noobs are stuck with green copper juice, Rank 2 mid-tiers get red iron drip.

As soon as the crescent mark slurped up that silver-white mana, it started glowing like a neon sign, throwing out a pale blue light show, even in broad daylight.

"That's fire!" "So aesthetic!" The younglings were losing their minds, dropping surprised emotes.

The pale blue light was shimmering like water, looking like the alpha was holding a handful of moonlight, straight up ethereal. The alpha smirked, like he was about to drop a tutorial. "Alright, listen up, last step: yeeting it."

He slowly closed his fingers, like he was about to clutch a win, raised his arm, and moved it forward, giving off that "precision aim" vibe. Then, he did a light palm chop, like he was slicing through a lag spike.

Swoosh.

The younglings heard a soft "whoosh," like a text notification sound.

Following the alpha's swipe, the condensed pale blue light yeeted out of his palm, like a projectile.

The light morphed into a mini moonblade, hand-sized and crescent-shaped, like a Discord logo. It flew in a straight line and hit a grass dummy ten meters away, straight up deleting it.

A tearing sound ripped through the air, and the dummy's thick neck, like a chunky tree trunk, got cleanly sliced. The dummy did a dramatic wobble, its head hitting the floor with a "thump."

After the dummy delete, the moonblade's brightness went low-battery mode, but it still flew another six meters before fading into the air, like a disappearing meme.

The dummy's neck was cut clean, like it had been sliced with a god-tier katana, smooth AF.

The younglings were shook, eyes wide, like they'd just seen a magic trick. Some even did a neck check, like they were worried about a lag spike.

After a brief moment of stunned silence, the hype train rolled in. The teenagers were staring at the dummy and the alpha's hand, some whispering excitedly, like they'd just found a secret Easter egg.

Only Fang Yuan was chilling in the back, ice cold, giving off that "been there, done that" vibe.

In his previous run, Fang Yuan was a Rank 6 legend, and he ran the Blood Wing Demon Discord Server in the Central Continent. He was a masterclass streamer, teaching thousands, and a certified demon lord, basically a VIP in the villain community.

The academy alpha, a Rank 3 boomer, was showing off a basic skill, which was basically a tutorial level for Fang Yuan, so he was just chilling.

"Alright, all you Moonlight Gu mains, step up. Time to practice your DPS, just like I showed you."

Around thirty-five players stepped forward, ready to grind.

Out of the hundred teens who did the Awakening Ceremony, fifty-seven had the stats for it. About thirty-five went for the Moonlight Gu build. After days of grinding, they'd all unlocked it. The rest, the D-tier noobs, had rage-quit due to their low stats.

For Gooner Yue clan players, the Moonlight Gu wasn't just a Gu, it was a clan flex, a legendary skin.

Thirty-five players lined up, each facing a grass dummy ten meters away, ready to test their aim.

Fang Yuan was chilling in the middle of the squad, lowkey and unnoticed, like a silent observer. The practice round started.

Players held out their right hands, summoning the Moonlight Gu to their palms, like they were equipping an item. Blue crescent marks started glowing with water blue light, as green copper mana was injected, like they were charging a power-up.

But when they tried to do the palm chop, only seven or eight moonblades actually spawned. Some despawned instantly, like a lag spike. Some flew two to three meters before exploding into blue pixels, like a corrupted file. And some flew off-course, straight up to the sky, like they were trying to clip through the map.

The younglings were throwing major "wait, what?" vibes, realizing this wasn't as easy as it looked. The alpha's demo was giving off that "easy mode" illusion, but the practice was straight-up hardcore.

The alpha was vibing, not even surprised. He'd seen this trainwreck every year. The twenty-two benchwarmers were giving off that "FOMO" energy, watching from the sidelines.

After five minutes of failing spectacularly, some players were finally spawning moonblades, but the training field was a chaotic mess of flying blue crescents.

Some faded mid-flight, like a low-battery notification. Some had a head-on collision, like a server crash. And some flew out of the map, like they were trying to find a secret level. Only a few hit the dummies, and that was pure RNG.

The elder started coaching, giving all his attention to the meta players: Fang Zheng, Mo Bei, Chi Cheng, and the other tryhards. He was fixing their posture, dropping knowledge bombs. He gave C-tier players like Fang Yuan a two-sentence tutorial, basically a "git gud" speedrun.

Fang Yuan was chilling, condensing blue light in his hand, pretending to practice, basically faking it till he made it. With the arena a total free-for-all, and no one watching him, he released the Moonlight Gu, tilting his palm, and aiming at the dummy on his left, playing it sneaky. He was trying to avoid drawing aggro.

Whoosh! A moonblade yeeted out, slicing through the chaotic air traffic, hitting a grass dummy's neck with pinpoint accuracy.

The dummy wobbled, the cut deep, like a clean install. But the grass started doing a rapid regen, healing the wound like a self-patching game.

This was a Rank 1 Scarecrow Gu, with that sweet, sweet self-heal.

Unless it got a full-on delete, it would just heal up, no biggie.

"Yo, check out that crescent!" "That was sick, who threw that?"

Hits were rarer than a legendary drop. Fang Yuan's casual shot was the highlight reel moment. The crowd went wild. The alpha was like, "Wait, was that yours?"

He stared at a C-tier player standing opposite the dummy, giving him the "sus" look.

The dude blinked, like he was buffering, confused by the sudden spotlight. In the moonblade mayhem, he wasn't even sure if he'd thrown it.

He glanced at the dummy, thinking, "Uh, maybe?" He nodded, giving off that "I guess?" energy.

The others were giving him the "poggers" stare.

"Who's that player? What's their username?" some girl gamers asked. "If they can do it, I'm going full tryhard!" Gooner Yue Mo Bei's eyes flashed with that "I'm about to clutch this" energy.
