Chapter 111: Finding You a Treasure Spot

Night

In the Senju Clan's library, a girl with short pink hair sat quietly at a desk, engrossed in the books before her.

Piled in front of her were various materials on Yang Release. Among them were Senju Tobirama's insights, reflections from successive clan heads, and even documents signed by Senju Buddha himself.

Notably absent, however, were any writings by Senju Hashirama.

To most, the connection between Yang Release and medical ninjutsu is well-known: its use amplifies the effectiveness of healing techniques.

In truth, Yang Release extends beyond that. It's a technique that governs the physical body, channeling the energy of life to infuse form with vitality, thereby enhancing life force.

For example, the Akimichi Clan's Multi-Size Technique is an application of Yang Release.

At its known peak, Yang Release manifests as Naruto Uzumaki's Yang Power, capable of reviving Might Guy after the devastating toll of the Eight Gates.

And then there are the tailed beasts—creations of the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki—who used Yin-Yang Release, merging Yin and Yang energies with the chakra of the Ten-Tails.

But all of this seemed far removed from Sakura's current reality. Her goal was far more grounded: to harness Yang Release and survive the perilous Sage Pool of the Shikkotsu Forest.

In the original narrative, the Sage Modes of Mount Myoboku and Ryuchi Cave were well-documented, yet the secrets of Shikkotsu Forest remained shrouded.

The lethality of its Sage Pool was infamous. Entering it was akin to courting death.

As Sakura perused Tobirama's notes on Yang Release, the library door creaked open.

"Karin?"

"Why aren't you asleep yet?"

Karin entered cautiously, carrying a bowl of steaming porridge. She placed it before Sakura with a gentle smile.

"I saw you still reading so late, so I thought you might be hungry and made something for you."

The aroma of the meat porridge was rich and inviting.

"Thanks, Karin. Has Lady Tsunade gone to bed?"

Sakura accepted the spoon and took a taste. The porridge was savory and surprisingly well-made.

"She got drunk again. It took quite an effort to get her to her room."

Karin sat down beside Sakura, her tone exasperated. "Honestly, I never imagined Konoha's Princess Tsunade could act so... carefree."

Despite her words, Karin's smile betrayed her growing fondness for Tsunade.

"It seems you've grown quite attached to her," Sakura said, amused.

"Well, I suppose…" Karin scratched her head, slightly embarrassed. "It's just that Lady Tsunade is far more approachable than I expected."

"If that's how you feel, perhaps you should ask her to mentor you," Sakura suggested, her tone carrying a hint of encouragement.

"Eh?"

Karin blinked in surprise.

To her, escaping Kusagakure and joining Konoha had already felt like an impossible dream. Becoming Tsunade's disciple was something she'd never dared to imagine.

After all, Tsunade was no ordinary ninja.

The granddaughter of the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama. The strongest kunoichi in the ninja world. A figure whose prestige surpassed even some Kage.

On the Rooftop

The cool night breeze swept through the village, the moon hanging high in the sky.

A lone figure with golden hair sat atop the library's roof.

Tsunade's brown eyes, clear and sharp, betrayed no trace of drunkenness as her loose hair danced in the wind. Taking the wine bottle beside her, she drank deeply, the liquid trailing down her slender neck and disappearing into the shadowy depths of her cleavage.

She wiped her lips and reclined on the tiled roof, gazing at the moon with a mixture of melancholy and nostalgia.

In her mind's eye, she saw the face of a red-haired woman who had once lovingly called her a "troublemaker" while pinching her cheeks.

"Grandma Mito…"

Her fingers brushed against the corner of her eye, where dampness lingered. In the silence of the night, a soft sigh escaped her lips.

"…Is it raining?"

The Next Morning

Weather: Clear

At Konoha's gates, Karin waved enthusiastically as the group prepared to depart.

"Be safe!"

"You should head back soon too," Sakura called back. "And when I return, I expect you to have passed your exam!"

With that, Sakura turned to join her companions on the road to the battlefield.

Alongside her were Kakashi, Kurenai, Sasuke, Kiba, Shino, and Hinata.

"Finally, my chance to shine!" Kiba exclaimed, his enthusiasm a stark contrast to the others' silence.

"Woof woof!" Akamaru barked in agreement from atop Kiba's head.

"Kiba," Kurenai interjected, her tone stern. "The battlefield isn't a game. That attitude will get you killed."

"She's right," Shino added. "It's... a bug's intuition."

Kiba pouted, his excitement dampened. He turned to Sakura, seeking validation.

"Sakura, come on, you think I'll make a name for myself, right?"

Sakura glanced at him, then smiled mischievously. "Don't worry, Kiba. When you die, I'll make sure to find you a treasure spot."

Kurenai chuckled, ruffling Kiba's hair. "See? Just focus on surviving, okay?"

Kiba groaned in exasperation as the group continued onward, the weight of the impending battle settling over them.
