Scarlet Warlock Of Dc

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Mr. Twister

Mr. Twister introduced himself. It seemed that he did not see us as a threat. I smiled, knowing that meant he would underestimate us.

We had no leader or plan, so Wally and Superboy ran recklessly, trying to catch Mr. Twister off guard. Wally closed the gap the fastest, searching for a weakness or at least to try and be a distraction. Superboy attacked from the air, his fist ready to smash into Mr. Twister.

Just a foot away from the robot, Superboy and Kid Flash were blown away as Mr. Twister formed a tornado around himself. I caught them in the air, bringing them to my side as the tornado grew larger.

"What do we do?" I asked, trying to keep my barrier up. I never really got tired—it was midday after all, and the sky was clear. Solomon didn't know this yet, but his Kryptonian physique had altered his powers in ways beyond comprehension, and vice versa.

"Megan, can you read the opponent's mind and take him out?" Kaldur asked, trying to come up with a plan. The barrier they were in could last for a while, but the winds were getting stronger.

"But I thought you said I wasn't supposed to do that."

"Hurry up, guys! We don't have a lot of time!"

Solomon shouted trying to strengthen his barrier more, though this stopped him from attacking.

They were taking too long to come up with a plan, and cars were slamming into my barrier at extremely high speeds. Not only that, but the ground didn't look like it would last much longer.

Megan focused, trying to sense Mr. Twister's mind, but found it empty. A thought appeared in her mind—there was only one other person whose mind she couldn't read.

"Guys, I know who that is."

"It's Red Tornado, pretending to be a villain."

The group realized that Mr. Twister and Red Tornado had the same powers. I, on the other hand, wasn't so sure.

"Are you sure, Megan?"

"I mean, this seems like a bit much just to play pretend."

Megan looked at me, trying to say something, but she didn't get the chance. Suddenly, she saw a light in the middle of all the chaos.

"Hey, guys, do you see that?"

She pointed, trying to show us. We followed her gaze as fear started creeping onto our faces. Thick lightning bolts struck around us—each one thicker than a human body.

While we had been talking, Mr. Twister had been charging an attack.

Mr. Twister was growing tired of playing with these kids. He just wanted to get the Justice League's attention, or specifically Red Tornado, but these pests had lasted longer than he expected. He never used this attack because it took a while to charge. Usually, he opted for the quicker but less powerful version.

Though that did'nt happen as it seems like these kids underestimated me, he thought. Well, that'll be their last mistake.

Solomon knew that if the attack hit them, they would be out for the count—or worse, dead. Robin might not even survive outright. Fear gripped his heart.

Is this where I die?

He had just been reborn, granted power that could make a difference, yet he hadn't been given the time to master it. He knew the feeling of dying—the pain of a heart stopping.

Subconsciously, an ability yet to be known was being used. Solomon wasn't ready for it, and blood began to trickle down the sides of his eyes and nose.

In an underground cave, a man watched a screen. He could see the young heroes cowering inside a barrier, though visibility was poor due to the harsh winds.

He smiled as one of his greatest creations was about to eliminate the minor nuisances who had stalled him for so long. Just as Bromwell was about to press the button that would kill them all, a leaking pipe dripped water in just the right spot to short-circuit the keyboard. Sparks flew as the complex controller went haywire.

Bromwell's eyes widened in shock. He tried to call for help but suddenly choked on his own saliva. Confused, he backed up—only to slip on a piece of equipment, hit his head, and pass out.

The guards who had been watching were slow to react, still processing what had happened. One of them finally gathered his bearings and slammed the alarm.

Back with Young Justice, they noticed something strange. Solomon was bleeding profusely, his eyes glowing a deep scarlet. Tears mixed with blood, creating a terrifying visage. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth as he started to float. His arms pointed ahead of him, as you could see veins prominently around his body. The strain of using power he was not ready for was to much even for his still developing kryptonian body.

"Superboy, what is happening?" Kaldur asked, uncertain. What was supposed to be a simple investigation had spiraled completely out of control.

Before an answer could be given, Robin shouted.

"Look! Something's happening!"

They turned to Mr. Twister. He still hadn't attacked, but the energy in his hands continued to build.

"The energy buildup—he can't contain it anymore," Robin said in panic. "It's going critical!"

"Solomon!" Kaldur called, desperate thinking of a plan.

Before anything could be done, the team was engulfed in a blinding white light.

Solomon's barrier held just long enough to shield them from the initial heat before shattering. The shockwave sent them flying.

Superboy shielded Robin from the brunt of the blast, while Megan tore a chunk of the ground to protect them from the shockwave. At this point, Solomon's eyes had stopped glowing, his body now completely gone limp as he fell unconscious.

Megan's makeshift shield didn't last long—it was far weaker than Solomon's. But it did reduce the force, buying enough time for her to grab Solomon and shield his unconscious body.

As the dust settled, a small crater remained. The explosion had occurred in the air, minimizing damage to the ground.

Kaldur looked up. There was nothing left except a heavily damaged robot. The initial tornado had already cleared the area, leaving no cars in sight.

"Kid Flash, run the perimeter. Check for any injured civilians."

Wally nodded and sped off to make sure no one was hurt.

"That was so not whelmed," Dick muttered, trying to ease the tension.

"Guys! Solomon!"

Everyone turned. Solomon lay motionless, the blood on his face already drying.

"This is all my fault," Megan said, guilt washing over her. She had tried to help by revealing the truth, but it had only wasted time. Now Solomon was hurt because of her.

"It's not just your fault, Megan. It's all of ours," Kaldur said, looking down. Solomon had bought them plenty of time to come up with a plan, and they had failed. They had underestimated the enemy—and it had nearly cost them everything.

Superboy looked slightly worried. Superman wasn't who he thought he was—or who he needed him to be. Solomon was all he had—the only person who could truly understand him.

"There's no one in the area," Wally reported as he glanced at Solomon, his body still, the only sign of life was the rise and falling of his chest. Solomon's body wasn't ready for the power he had used, and the consequences were severe. The only reason he survived was because he was Kryptonian.

"Megan, call your Bio-Ship. We need to get him back to base immediately."

Kaldur's command snapped Megan out of her daze. She called her Bio-Ship, and the team returned to base, making sure to bring Mr. Twister's body for analysis.

Solomon was placed under sun lamps to accelerate his healing—though it was slow, at least for someone like him. He would recover. One day, at most.

Back at the mysterious base, Bromwell was regaining consciousness. Though he had suffered a concussion, he would survive. He groaned, his head aching. He didn't understand what had gone wrong—his plan should have worked.

A figure entered the room, immediately capturing Bromwell's full attention.

"I'm sorry. It seems I failed," Bromwell said, his tone downcast.

The man before him remained unaffected. The plan hadn't truly failed—it had simply been thwarted by sheer bad luck.

POV Change

Solomon woke up, his vision filled with scarlet energy. This place had no up or down. The laws of physics didn't exist here. His darkest thoughts rose to the surface.

I have so much power.

No one can stop me.

I could rid the world of all evil.

Then—nothing. A single voice silenced it all.

"It's not time yet."

The voice was beautiful, powerful. Solomon jolted awake, denting the metal beneath him. Superboy was asleep beside him.

Solomon opened his eyes, his body jolting upright. With his uncontrolled strength, the metal beneath him dented. He looked around and saw Superboy sleeping nearby. His breathing slowed as a thought crossed his mind.

I guess he waited here for me. So this is what it's like to have a brother.

Not long after, Superboy stirred awake from the noise of Solomon moving.

"Thank you for waiting for me… Brother."

Superboy looked at Solomon with a small smile. Solomon was okay. And more than that—having a brother felt… nice.

"What is family for… I guess," Superboy said with an awkward smile.

For the first time, he showed an emotion other than anger or indifference toward his team. Superboy was finally learning how to be more than just what he was made to be.

A nice silence fell in the room as Solomon looked at his brother.

"So i'm the older brother right"

I said playing around with my now rechognized brother. We talked and laughed as are familial bond grew. I eventually looked at him in a more serious tone.

"You Khaldur is right, when he said you should just say sorry"

That is more than enough to make Megan happy. I said trying to give him advice. We were now brothers after all, and type of brother would not help their sibling form a budding relationship.

Also I think you need a name, as I can't keep calling you Superboy.

Thank you all for reading this chapter! I hope you enjoyed it. I had a great time writing it and would love to hear your feedback so I can continue improving.

Please comment on who you'd like the MC to be with. I'm planning to introduce characters like Raven, Starfire, and more—each with their own compelling backstories and challenges. I need big bosses like Trigone to challenge the future Mc.

Also, for those hoping for a harem, that's not happening. He might have more than one girlfriend over time, but never at the same time.

Lastly, I'm making the Justice League—especially Superman—stronger than they were in Young Justice. Stay tuned!
