  "Go."

"Don't let any outsiders interfere with my next meeting."

Hearing his subordinates volunteer to handle the situation, the Golden Lion paused for a moment before nodding in approval.

Just a few pests who slipped in. Hardly worth my own time, the Golden Lion thought to himself.

Still, he didn't forget to issue a reminder.

To accelerate the formation of his new pirate regime, the Golden Lion had publicly sent out recruitment calls across the seas.

His goal: to reforge a force rivaling that of Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King.

  "Understood."

  Indigo gave a curt nod.

Without wasting time, he took Warlord Scarletto and marched into the dense jungle.

  "Roger…"

"It won't be long before the East Blue is razed under my heel!"

"And when that happens, I'll ascend—not just as king of the seas…"

"But as ruler of the entire world!"

Watching his subordinates disappear into the foliage, the Golden Lion muttered to himself, his ambition for global domination clear in his cold voice.

---

Meanwhile, back to Bai Yu's team—

  ROAR!

No sooner had Bai Yu and his group started heading toward the signal, than a monstrous beast burst from the foliage.

It was a gigantic tiger-like creature, its eyes glowing with an eerie, violent red hue.

With a bone-shaking roar, it charged straight at them.

Just as the creature lunged with a thunderous swipe of its massive paw toward Bai Yu—

Three shadows darted forward before he could lift a finger.

"You're not even worthy of making our captain lift his sword."

With coordinated precision, the trio launched their assault.

  ROAR!

In an instant, Bellumebo shifted into his full pterosaur Zoan form.

His powerful wings beat the air, lifting him upward in a sharp arc.

Then, with claws extended, he dived and latched onto the tiger's neck with terrifying force.

  "Shave!"

  FWOOSH!

Koby vanished in a blur, using the Soru of the Six Powers.

Appearing beneath the beast mid-air, he launched a fierce upward kick into its exposed abdomen.

  As for Maya—

  Hummm...

Her approach was quieter, more refined.

Clasping her hands together, she murmured a chant under her breath.

A radiant glow of spiritual energy flared from her chest and gathered before her.

With a ripple in the air, a golden arrow of light formed, suspended by her will.

  SHUNK!

Without delay, the arrow rocketed forward with a piercing whistle, aimed directly at the creature's head.

  THWACK!

  BOOM—CRASH—SNAP!

The beast staggered as Bellumebo's talons dug deep, slashing flesh and drawing torrents of blood.

Koby's brutal kick hurled the massive body backward, smashing it through several trees like they were twigs.

  Then came Maya's arrow.

With a flash of divine light, it struck the tiger square in the forehead—driving deep, leaving a gory, gaping hole.

  THUD!

The giant tiger beast collapsed with a ground-shaking crash—lifeless.

"I definitely took it down first."

"Get real! My kick was what brought it down!"

Bellumebo and Koby started bickering almost instantly.

Maya just smiled and said nothing.

  "Enough."

Bai Yu stepped forward, mildly annoyed as he shot the two squabbling fighters a glare.

This wasn't the first time their team had been ambushed by wild creatures since landing on this strange island.

To ensure Bai Yu could conserve his strength for his inevitable clash with the Golden Lion, the trio had taken on the role of his vanguard.

Every single beast they encountered had been grotesquely mutated—likely under the influence of IQ-enhancing plants.

Their bodies were bloated with unnatural muscle, their behavior driven by bloodlust.

  "We must be getting close."

  Bai Yu's tone sharpened.

With every step forward, the beasts had grown more frequent—and more ferocious.

And now, he could feel it.

A powerful presence lay just ahead.

  "Move out."

With Bai Yu in the lead, the group pressed onward.

---

  WHOOOSH—WHOOOSH—WHOOOSH!

Suddenly, sharp winds cut through the dense foliage.

Flames—colored in strange shades of violet and green—came hurling from the jungle like vengeful spirits.

They shot straight toward Bai Yu's group.

  Too fast.

The three behind him didn't even have time to react.

  Only Bai Yu moved.

Noticing their delay, he stepped forward instinctively—blocking the trio with his body.

As the first fireball reached him, he drew his sheathed sword—Wusou Taidao—and raised it before him.

  BOOM!

  BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions erupted in rapid succession as each chemical fireball slammed into the scabbard.

  Smoke and shockwaves spread outward.

  Yet Bai Yu remained unmoved.

His blade—still sheathed—absorbed each blast without yielding.

From deep within the jungle, a high-pitched, mocking laugh echoed.

  "Kyarararara…"

A figure emerged through the drifting smoke, accompanied by a giant humanoid orangutan.

It was Indigo—deputy of the Golden Lion.

By his side stood the monstrous Warlord Scarletto.

"That chemical cocktail should've turned you to ash…"

  "Kyarararara…"

Indigo cackled as he strolled forward, convinced of his victory.

But his laugh was cut short.

From within the smoke, a gust of wind surged.

  Whoooosh!

The haze dispersed, revealing Bai Yu—untouched.

Not a burn mark on his body.

Even the scabbard that had blocked the barrage looked brand new.

  "What… impossible!"

  Indigo's eyes widened.

His mouth hung open in disbelief.

"You two showing up here confirms it," Bai Yu said, eyes sharp.

  "The Golden Lion is here."

Indigo—chemist, illusionist, and chief researcher of IQ plants—never strayed far from the Golden Lion.

His presence meant the king of the skies had to be nearby.

  "You'll go no farther!"

  "Scarletto—attack!"

  THUMP—THUMP—THUMP!

The orangutan stepped forward, pounding his chest in an earth-rattling rhythm before releasing a thunderous roar.

  PUFF PUFF!

Standing behind him, Indigo twirled and danced.

Chemical fireballs began forming once more around his hands.

A deadly second round was coming.
