Chapter 107: Inexplicable Conflict
After Chu Wuyao questioned Li Ruoshi, she basically understood what was needed in order for the Blood Flag to advance.
According to Li Ruoshi, most Magic Weapons can only advance through two methods: by consuming precious materials and by being imbued with their owner's Mana.
The first method is actually quite simple.
As long as some precious materials are melted and are smelted onto the Magic Weapon, its rank will naturally increase.
These materials may be rare metals, cultivation resources or even the blood of some powerful creatures.
On the other hand, the second method needs the cooperation of a cultivator that is at least at the Shackles Realm.
Once a cultivator breaks through the Shackles Realm, the quality of their Qi will improve and its essence will become higher.
This is why cultivators no longer refer to it as Qi, but as Mana.
By imbuing this Mana into a Magic Weapon, a cultivator can slowly increase its power and thus its rank.
Of course, this process takes a very long time, having to spend years if not decades to advance the rank of a Low-Grade Spiritual Weapon to Medium-Grade.
In addition to these two methods, Li Ruoshi has one more method to improve the quality of the Blood Flag and that is by swallowing blood.
The stronger the creature, the more she will improve after swallowing their blood.
When Chu Wuyao heard her say this, she became very happy.
Although she didn't have a way to obtain precious materials right now and she couldn't spend a long time imbuing her Mana into the Blood Flag, getting some blood was quite easy.
Suddenly, Chu Wuyao remembered something.
"By the way, is this thing useful?", she asked and took a broken black sword out of her space ring.
This black sword was the fragment of a Divine Weapon she had previously obtained and although she hadn't used it many times, it had been pretty useful.
Unfortunately, now that she had broken through the Shackles Realm and could use Spiritual Weapons without any side effect, this fragment had become useless.
When Li Ruoshi saw the broken black sword in her hand, she wasn't too surprised.
She had already seen this sword before and had even faced it during their fight.
After she took a look, Li Ruoshi nodded her head: "It is! I can feel that as long as I swallow it, I should be able to take a step closer to advancing to a Middle-Grade Spiritual Weapon."
Even though this black sword was broken and its intelligence had been completely wiped out, its essence was still very high.
When Chu Wuyao heard this, she threw the black sword to Li Ruoshi, whose transparent body stretched its hand and caught it.
Without any hesitation, Li Ruoshi brought the black sword to her mouth and then, she bit on it.
"Crunch..."
A chewing sound came from her mouth, as her teeth broke the black sword into pieces.
Usually, a cultivator would have to smelt this sword before they could use it as a material, but because of Li Ruoshi's uniqueness, she could just swallow it raw.
As she gulped down the broken pieces of the sword, a faint red light flashed on the Blood Flag and Chu Wuyao immediately sensed through their connection that its had been enhanced.
Li Ruoshi glanced at the black sword in her hand and after thinking for a bit, she made a rough estimation:
"It should only take me about a day to fully digest it."
"That's good."
Chu Wuyao was satisfied and with a wave of her hand, she put the Blood Flag away, leaving Li Ruoshi to do her thing.
Since they had signed the Devil's Contract, Chu Wuyao wasn't afraid that she would do anything that might harm her.
Having dealt with Li Ruoshi, Chu Wuyao was about to return to the training room and continue practicing, when she noticed a strong aura rushing towards her residence.
She didn't notice it because of her extraordinary perception, but because the visitor wasn't hiding their aura at all.
"What's up with all the visitors today?", Chu Wuyao complained, but she could only go out to receive them.

A few minutes later, two people were sitting on each side of a wooden table, with two cups of tea in front of them.
On one side of the table sat Chu Wuyao, while on the opposite side sat a young man, whose face had a long scar that went from his forehead to his chin.
"Junior sister, why is your place so empty?", the scarred man glanced around and commented casually, while a hint of disdain flashed in his eyes.
"I've been focused on practicing and I didn't have the time to do anything else.", Chu Wuyao answered calmly, seemingly not noticing his expression.
"By the way, why did senior brother come and visit me?", she changed the topic of conversation and asked bluntly.
Hearing her question, the scarred man shook his head and sighed before he replied:
"It seems that junior sister doesn't recognize me."
"I'm Ren Sang, the trusted follower of senior brother Mu."
A hint of pride flashed on his face, but when Ren Sang saw that Chu Wuyao didn't react at all, he became a little embarrassed.
Recalling that Chu Wuyao had just broken through, Ren Sang understood that she didn't know what he was talking about.
"Senior brother Mu is one of the few quasi-core disciples in the Inner Area.", he smiled slightly and explained.
"Is that so?", Chu Wuyao nodded her head.
"Hahaha.", Ren Sang chuckled when he saw her lack of response.
"Junior sister has just become an inner disciple and doesn't know something yet."
"In fact, the majority of the disciples in the Inner Area are directly under the command of at least one of the quasi-disciples."
"Otherwise, without the support of a quasi-disciple, most inner disciples will never be able to get enough resources..."
"For example, Lu Yuan is directly under the command of senior sister Luo, another quasi-disciple.", Ren Sang spoke and his words seemed to insinuate something.
When he saw that Chu Wuyao was pondering over his words, he didn't give her any time to think, but chose to strike while the iron was hot.
"I came here today because senior brother Mu heard about junior sister's achievements and was filled with admiration for you."
"He was afraid that some shameless people would trick you and waste your talent, so he sent me to recruit you."
Ren Sang spoke solemnly with a serious expression, but he was sneering in his mind.
While most of what he said was indeed true, the fact that senior brother Mu sent him here was complete nonsense.
Let alone sending him here, senior brother Mu didn't even know about Chu Wuyao's existence.
In fact, Ren Sang came here on his own accord because he learned from one of his underlings that Lu Yuan paid a visit to the new inner disciple.
In his mind, the reason why Lu Yuan did this was because he wanted to recruit her.
But how could Ren Sang allow such a thing to happen?
After all, it was well-known that senior brother Mu and senior sister Luo had always been at odds and there were various conflicts between them.
Of course, Ren Sang didn't dare to do or say anything about senior sister Luo, but dealing with Chu Wuyao was very easy.
As long as he managed to steal one of senior sister Luo's potential followers, senior brother Mu would look at him differently!
While he thinking about his bright future, Ren Sang never thought that Chu Wuyao would refuse his offer.
Anyone with a normal mind knew what choice to make.
Having said everything he wanted, Ren Sang didn't say anything else, but picked up the tea cup and took a sip.
However, Chu Wuyao's next words caused him to spit out the tea and make himself a mess.
"I'm very happy that senior brother Mu values me so much, but I'll have to decline his offer.", Chu Wuyao said and shook her head, as if she had made a tough choice.
Although her words seemed polite, to Ren Sang, these words were filled with provocation.
"Junior sister Chu, are you sure about your decision? Why don't you think about it again?", he spoke, while his hands cleaned the tea off his scarred face.
As he spoke, his aura fluctuated and he showed his true realm, the Middle Stage of the Shackles Realm.
Unfortunately, despite his oppression, Chu Wuyao shook her head once again.
Faced with her casualness, Ren Sang had an urge to take action directly to suppress her and teach her a lesson.
However, in the end, he restrained himself. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
It would be stupid for him to pick a fight inside the other person's residence.
Who knew if there was a formation or a trap set up?
In anger, Ren Sang could only grit his teeth and get up, pointing at Chu Wuyao with his finger.
"Good! Good! Good! It seems that junior sister Chu doesn't take senior brother Mu seriously at all!"
"It's good that you were able to become an inner disciple, but I just want to remind you that in front of the truly strong people, the Shackles Realm is nothing!"
"There are some people you can't afford to offend!", he said and slapped the table angrily, before walking off.
Looking at the empty seat opposite to her, Chu Wuyao calmly took a sip of her tea, as if she didn't care about Ren Sang's attitude.
But if anyone were to look at her gray eyes, they would find that they contained boundless murderous intent.
