Shadow Slave - One Shots

Chapter 68: #Sussie4Ever!

The stars, that once was twinkling furiously, had died down as Sunny slowly woke up.

He blinked against the light spilling through the window, his body still warm from last night.

Next to him was, of course, Cassie.

She was beside him, her presence was still comforting for him despite the fog that resided in his head.

Even though she was blind, she still managed to cause Sunny to tip over the edge with every small action she does whether it was intentional or not.

Her gentle breathing, the faint rustle of the blanket as she shifted, the soft murmur of her name in his ear, her adorable voice that that pleasantly rang in his ear.

Maybe that's why he fell for her, despite the things she's done.

For a long, quiet moment, Sunny simply lay there, absorbing the memory of their previous intimacy.

He remembered the constant teasing, the soft kisses, and the way her laughter had filled the room.

A small smile tugged at his lips as he recalled her teasing tone, the way she'd act when he'd tease her, "Mmm… Meanie," and how she'd pressed her face into his chest like a cat.

But as the memories washed over him, a blush crept onto his cheeks.

Last night was.. something for Sunny. Never in a million years would he do this, ever.

"Cassie…" he whispered, almost unsure if he should disturb her slumber.

A moment later, she stirred. "Sunny?" Her voice was soft and sleepy, yet it still managed to make his heart skip a beat.

He shifted closer, letting his hand brush gently along her arm.

"Morning," he said.

Cassie's fingers traced the outline of his hand for a moment before she spoke again. "Last night… was it as good for you as it was for me?" she asked, her voice hushed.

Sunny's eyes twitched in amusement, though he felt a sudden pang, which was his flaw kicking in.

He couldn't hide the truth, no matter how much he might want to.

Forced to compel, even though he'd admit it anyways, he responded.

"I'm embarrassed to admit it, but…I loved every second. I was nervous at first, but then… it just felt so right with you." His words came out fast and honest, leaving no room for objections.

A small laugh escaped Cassie. "You're such a scaredy-cat sometimes, Sunny. But I love that about you." Her tone had suddenly became teasing.

Sunny groaned playfully. "Scaredy-cat, huh? Maybe I should start calling you that too," he teased back.

Cassie shifted, a small giggle breaking the silence. "Maybe I'll let you, if you're lucky," she replied, her tone teasing and inviting.

Their eyes met… or rather, Sunny's eyes focused on her blue ocean-like eyes.

In that quiet moment, their connection deepened, if it wasn't already deep enough.

After a few more seconds of soft laughter and gentle teasing, Sunny sat up slowly.

The reality struck him when he realized how exposed they both were. His cheeks burned as he remembered every detail of the night before.

With a quick, clumsy motion, he slipped out of bed.

The cool air brushed against his bare skin, sending a shiver down his spine.

He hurried to a corner of the room where he had stashed a simple set of clothes. He quickly wore those clothes, whilst exchanging glances at Cassie, worrying if she found out what she did.

Once dressed, he walked back into the living room, careful not to wake Cassie completely.

***

'Mhnnn..' She groaned internally. If she was being honest, it wasn't like she didn't want to get up. It was more as she couldn't.

With enough effort and built up lactic acid, she pushed herself up.

The cold air brushed against her skin, causing her skin to flush, before remembering Sunny's words on where his clothes.

She quickly walked to the left.

"The closet is in the left." Sunny's voice echoed in her head, causing her to smile.

Then-

- Bam!

Cassie's head had banged against a wall, she responded by making a small yelp and helping her head.

"Owowowowie…" she whispered, before realizing she slept on the other side.

Retrying, she went right this time and after placing her hand infront of her to avoid any dangers, she managed to find his closet.

Of course, she couldn't find her clothes, so she just wore Sunny's clothes.

She didn't know what color they were, but expecting him, it was all black.

With that, she headed to the door and sat on the couch.

****

The room was quite a contrast to his room. With his room being slightly dark and only allowing minimal light through, in contrast the living room was an invitation to the Sun to hang out.

His hearing felt stronger, he could hear the fridge humming, the outside of the cars, then, unexpectedly, a familiar voice.

"Hey, you two lovebirds! You sure made a racket last night!"

Effie rolled in the doorway, a wild grin on her face.

She hadn't been around in days, and her sudden arrival brought an energetic burst to the quiet morning.

His face turned bright red as Effie's teasing voice echoed in the room.

Cassie, who had been sitting on the edge of the sofa, blushed deeply at the sound of Effie's words.

Despite being blind, her other senses picked up every nuance of the conversation, and her giggles rang out softly.

"Shut up," Sunny mumbled, turning his head away.

(tsundere confirmed… kidding)

Effie laughed, rolling further into the room. "Where have you two been hiding?" she teased. "I can still hear the sounds of the clapping."

Sunny tried to keep his tone light as he asked, "Effie, where have you been?"

"Kai's house," she replied with a mischievous glint. "And tell me… are you finally together?" She raised an eyebrow, her voice playful.

Before Sunny or Cassie could answer separately, they both said, "Yes," almost in unison.

Just then, the door swung open again and Kai stepped out, clapping his hands with a big smile.

"Congratulations!" he announced, clearly pleased.

His eyes twinkled with a secret satisfaction, hinting that he'd been watching all along.

Effie grinned wider. "I told you, the noise was really something. You two are unstoppable!"

Cassie laughed softly, a warm sound that filled the room, while Sunny merely mumbled, "Shut up," though his tone was filled with fondness.

Kai's applause and Effie's teasing lightened the mood even more, and soon the morning chatter flowed easily among the friends.

After Effie and Kai left, the house instantaneously became much calmer.

Later, in the quiet of the living room, Sunny and Cassie sat close together on the couch.

Cassie rested her head on Sunny's shoulder as they sipped their morning coffee.

Cassie broke the silence, her voice low and thoughtful. "What were you thinking about when you woke up, Sunny?" she asked softly.

Sunny's heart pounded as his flaw forced him to be truthful, no matter how vulnerable it made him.

"I was thinking about how embarrassing it was… waking up after all that. I mean.. it was our first time but. Still."

He paused, swallowing hard. "I guess I'm just… honest to a fault."

Cassie giggled, her laughter gentle. "You're such a truth-teller," she said.

Sunny shot back, "Well obviously, that's my whole flaw dummy."

"But that's one of the things I love about you."

Sunny rolled his eyes, half-smiling. "Yeah, well, sometimes it feels like I'm a walking embarrassment," he teased.

Cassie nudged him with her hand. "Oh come on, you know you're adorable when you get all flustered," she said with a playful tone.

"Maybe I like it when you're a bit shy."

Sunny shook his head in mock disapproval, but the smile on his face showed that he enjoyed the banter.

"Maybe you do," he admitted softly, "and maybe that's why I love you so much."

The room was filled with gentle teasing and soft laughter as they continued their conversation.

Sunny reached out and pulled Cassie close once more.

"I still can't believe how lucky I am," he murmured.

Cassie pressed her forehead against his. "I feel the same, Sunny," she whispered. "You always make me feel safe, even when I can't see you. I trust you with everything."

He chuckled, his heart warm. "I love you, Cassie."

Cassie froze for a second, before smiling and whispering, "I love you too, Sunny."

He lightly pulled her chin towards him, before leaning in.

His lips brushed against hers, before endulging himself in her sweet lips.
