MTLNOVEL Chapter 10: Awoke
Ray was excited to finally have a soul core but didn't he already possess one as spell had stated he got one from devil lady which apparently was a creature of darkness while ray was pondering this he felt something wake up inside his body, it was trying to move around the body to mark it's territory but it was met with something unexpected.
Ray felt as if two beings were colliding in his body for dominance causing him immense pain and misery if it was possible ray would have gauged out his own soul core with bare hands but it wasn't so he had to put up with it The newly formed core was inside the one made from darkness and acted as a source of heat revitalizing the whole body . Occasionally specks of energy would escape from it flowing and strengthing the body. The core formed by the devil lady enveloped the newly formed core from all sides cooling the heat that it gave off but magically increasing the revitalizing effect of the heat.
Ray felt as if his whole body was being repaired, restructured to be better to be divine . He felt freed from one of many shackles of mortality.
But Ray was confused as far as he knew it was supposed to feel euphoric after completing the nightmare but he on other hand was subjeguated to utter pain and misery.
As much pain he had undergone the spell continued

' Weren't all awakened able to control essence so how was I different don't tell me I got a dud'
thinking this Ray quickly summoned his runes to check his aspect description

Ray was not sure about his help in direct combat but he thought be could invaluable as a support or a teacher ' To be used as a essence manager sounds bad on paper but I'll be safe for god's sake"
Ray laughed at himself and his perceivable furture
Then breaking his self depriving fantasy the spell continued

If someone had been there they would have been able to tell just by a glance at Ray's eyes that something broke when he read the runes of his flaw

Ray was bewildered by this flaw
" I've never hid my emotions mind you nightmare spell" said Ray aloud without realising .
"Wait what???" Ray said with a dumbfounded expression
Ray quickly pressed his hands against his mouth as if trying to stop what was coming out of his mouth yet he mumbled
"Fuck you Nightmare spell "
Instantly his face went pale as if he had foreseen his death , with fear of death clear on Ray's face he said " Don't kill me please" as if he was ready to cry any second now
Ray seemed like a child begging his mom to not send him to meet the dead Gods after she heard him cursing bad words
And just like a good mom Nightmare spell did not end his misery she just threw him out of the house, literally
In his self made misery the Ray did not even notice the Spell saying
[ Wake up , Ray ]
Suddenly Ray woke up , lying in his bed he rose to see his pillow with wet marks from his tears . Wiping off his tears Ray sat on his bed and looked around making sure this was not a dream his past experiences in the nightmare had made him paranoid.After making sure it was his real home Ray checked his communictor to see how much time had passed.
"What" said Ray in a low tone while squinting at his communictor
Only an hour had passed Ray was baffled by this revelation his confusion visible on his face.
Could it be all that time I spent under the hex was no more than a fraction of minute and rest of the time was spent on forming my core and evaluation by nightmare spell
Then he considered would it be appropriate to tell his parents it was not like they were not going to come back but their plan to come back from their vacation was Tommorow . At most if he told them to come now it would atleast take 5 hours but if he told them it's urgent they could make the journey in 2 hours but it would waste credit so like a good son he was , he decided to inform them of his current condition and let them come when they thought it was appropriate .
Ray threw his communictor aside and stood up to look in the mirror to check if his looks had changed and he was visibly shocked even before the trial he was charming but now it was a bit elevated but looks where not what shocked him it was his eyes
"I have heterchormia now.?" Ray said it aloud with a hint of suprise
Pupil of Ray's left eye had turned pitch black and pupil of right eye had turned blue
It was a genuine suprise to good old ray who prefered simplicity over fashion trends
Then ray sat down on his bed and started to recount what took place then he remembered his behaviour at the end of the trial a sense of shame came over him.
embarrassed Ray hit his bed while flapping his legs like a toddler then being embarrassed of his actions now he burrowed his head into the pillow to sleep
He had only been asleep for an hour so he was still sleepy and it was not like his parents were gonna be home today so he slept

Ray and his girlfriend Noor were on a date celebrating their one year anniversary together, they visited the bazaars skimmed through various shops to buy something for the occasion after having a hearty lunch by the river they walked back to their hotel room when they were about to kiss Ray heard a bell ringing then ray tried to switchoff his communictor without opening his eyes so he could continue the dream but the sound of a bell ringing did not stop then Ray hit the bed in anger after getting up Ray realised the sound of ringing and thumping again and again came from the door bell
Ray checked the time only one and a half hour had passed
"Coming!!!" Ray said it aloud without thinking
Ray walked up to door with a annoyed expression as if he would murder the person if it they were a salesman trying to sell their product or a pastor trying to convert him
Ray was dumbfounded after he opened the door because the one infront of him was someone he expected the least
