Shenron's Vow: The Ultimate Wishmaker

Chapter 54: The Identity Of The Prince Is Not Easy To Use—A Saiyan’s Pride Clashes with Earth’s Unyielding Spirit

Raditz towered over Vegeta, a mocking grin splitting his face as the Saiyan prince clutched his stomach, doubled over from a punishing blow. Vegeta's eyes watered, his breaths ragged, bitter bile dripping from his lips. "The gap between us is a chasm now," Raditz taunted, his voice dripping with relish. "I've had my fun, Vegeta. Time to join Nappa in the dirt."

Before Vegeta could retort, Raditz's fist crashed into his face, a thunderclap of force that sent him hurtling through the air. He skidded across the ground, rolling a dozen meters before collapsing in a heap, armor cracked and pride shattered. Raditz sauntered over, grabbing Vegeta and Nappa by their legs like sacks of grain. With a flicker of teleportation, he vanished, reappearing in the sleek living room of Bulma's Western Capital mansion.

He dropped the battered Saiyans at Renkai's feet, dust swirling around them. "Brother," Raditz said, bowing slightly, "mission accomplished."

Renkai glanced down at the groaning duo, then up at Raditz with a faint smile. "Good work, Raditz. Take a break—you've earned it."

"It's no trouble, Big Brother," Raditz replied, his tone reverent. "Serving you is my honor." He retreated with a nod, leaving Renkai to deal with the fallout.

Renkai crouched beside Vegeta and Nappa, producing two glowing senzu beans from a pouch. "Let's not drag this out," he muttered, popping one into each of their mouths. The beans worked their magic instantly—cracked ribs knit, bruises faded, and the two Saiyans sprang to their feet, fully restored but visibly shaken.

Days passed, and Vegeta and Nappa settled uneasily into life on Earth, their eyes wide at the strangeness surrounding them. Nappa, munching on a slab of grilled meat during a team-building barbecue hosted by the Universal Capsule Company's security department, gaped at the crowd. "Vegeta, look at them—all with tails! I thought Kakarot was the last Saiyan here, but this planet's crawling with them!"

Vegeta, nursing a drink, frowned deeply. "Impossible," he growled. "Planet Vegeta's destruction left only us, Raditz, and Kakarot. No other Saiyans should've survived. How are they here?" His gaze swept over Krillin, Yamcha, and even Bulma, all sporting tails—hybrids, transformed under Renkai's influence to transcend Earth's limits.

Nappa's jaw dropped further as he spotted Chi-Chi playing with little Gohan, and Renkai's kids, Lihua and Xiu, chasing each other. "Women and kids too? This is insane!"

The truth was stark: Earthlings, once pitifully weak, had embraced Saiyan blood to rival the universe's best. Even Dr. Gero, once fixated on androids, had opted for the hybrid transformation, craving power over his creations. Vegeta's mind raced. "A secret Saiyan refuge?" he mused aloud, his voice tinged with hope. "Maybe this planet's more than it seems."

The barbecue roared on, tables groaning under piles of meat as the hybrid crew devoured their feast. Vegeta, still grappling with his place, seized the moment. He climbed atop a table, silencing the chatter with a raised hand. "Listen up!" he barked, his voice cutting through the din. "You think you know your history—that Planet Vegeta fell to an asteroid. Lies! Frieza, the so-called Emperor of the Universe, obliterated our home. He's our enemy, and we Saiyans must rise against him!"

His chest swelled with fervor, his eyes blazing. "Unite under me, Prince Vegeta, and we'll not only crush Frieza but forge a new Planet Vegeta here on Earth. Our race's revival is within reach!" He finished, arms outstretched, awaiting applause.

Silence fell, broken only by the sizzle of meat. Then, forks clattered, and every eye turned to him—some amused, some pitying. Nappa leapt up, waving his half-eaten rib. "I'm with Vegeta! He's our prince—royal blood and all!"

Raditz snorted, leaning back with a smirk. "That fool thinks he can waltz in and replace Big Brother? Earth's softened his brain."

Laughter erupted, a wave of mirth that left Vegeta red-faced and rigid. Krillin doubled over, clutching his sides. Bulma cackled, wiping tears. Even Goku grinned, oblivious to the stakes. Vegeta's grand vision crumbled—he'd misread them entirely. These weren't displaced Saiyans yearning for a prince; they were Earthlings, hybrid or not, loyal to Renkai and indifferent to his royal lineage.

"What's so funny?" Vegeta roared, fists trembling.

Renkai sighed, stepping forward. Before Vegeta could lash out, Renkai pressed a single finger to his chest. The prince's rage faltered, his knees buckled, and he crumpled to the ground, dazed but unharmed. "Enough," Renkai said, his tone calm but final. He tossed another senzu bean, and Vegeta sprang up, pride stinging more than his body.

Glaring at Renkai, Vegeta squared his shoulders. "Who are you? Raditz calls you the strongest—I'm Vegeta, Saiyan Prince, and I won't bow to anyone less! Tell me your name!"

Renkai quirked an eyebrow, puzzled. "You know it already. I'm Renkai. What's the issue?"

"No!" Vegeta snapped, his voice thick with indignation. "Your Saiyan name! I demand it!"

Renkai chuckled softly. "I don't have one. I'm Renkai, not a Saiyan—I'm a Shenron. Get that through your head, Vegeta."

Vegeta's face twisted in fury. "You're like Kakarot, abandoning Saiyan glory for this nonsense!"

Renkai shook his head, already turning away. "Think what you want. I've got better things to do." He walked off, leaving Vegeta seething.

Days later, Vegeta cornered Renkai, his eyes burning with resolve. "Train me—hard. I need strength to beat you and destroy Frieza. That monster razed my home—I won't rest until he's dust!"

Renkai crossed his arms, unimpressed. "Revenge on Frieza? Fair enough, you've got the right. But beating me? Dream on. If you want a realistic goal, try Goku—he's closer to your league."

Vegeta bristled, his pride a raw wound. "I will defeat you. Mark my words!"

Renkai sighed, a flicker of exasperation crossing his face. "I've told you—it's not happening. Focus, Vegeta. You're chasing shadows." He walked away, leaving Vegeta's vow hanging in the air.

Meanwhile, across the cosmos, a colossal disc-shaped ship drifted through the void, its donut-like hull gleaming under distant stars. Frieza reclined on his throne, fresh from crushing a defiant planet, his tail flicking with satisfaction. His legion cheered his triumph, oblivious to the three Saiyans he'd long ignored. For now, Vegeta, Nappa, and Raditz were beneath his notice—but the ripples of their defiance were beginning to stir.

Back on Earth, Vegeta threw himself into training, his every punch fueled by a prince's wounded honor and a hunger for vengeance. Renkai watched from afar, a faint smile tugging at his lips. The game was shifting, and the board was set.
