Chapter 139: Chapter 93.3: The Forbidden Forest – Unicorns and Visitors
---
Morning.
The Forbidden Forest welcomed a new guest.
He was ragged, emaciated, and visibly malnourished. His expression was numb, his features shadowed with a hint of malice, and his unkempt hair added to his rough appearance.
Harry and Hermione instinctively kept their distance, unsure why Hagrid had brought this stranger along.
They whispered to each other, speculating about his identity.
Hagrid spoke briefly into Sirius' ear, causing Sirius' lifeless gaze to suddenly light up as he stared intently at Harry.
Harry, startled, turned and ran straight for the wooden cabin without looking back.
He collided head-on with Chu Yang, who was stepping out with a tray of breakfast.
Thud!
The flustered Harry fell to the ground, momentarily dazed.
Chu Yang steadied the wobbling tray and glanced down. Harry had already fainted.
"So youthful, able to sleep anywhere," Chu Yang mused aloud.
"Oh!" Hagrid exclaimed, rushing forward to help Harry, but Sirius was quicker. He crouched beside Harry in a flash.
Sirius gently brushed back Harry's hair to reveal his scar and softly called out, "Harry... Potter."
Groggily, Harry opened his eyes, only to be greeted by the fierce-looking man. He let out a shriek and promptly fainted again.
Hagrid sighed, "I think you should clean up a bit, Black. Look what you've done to the poor kid."
Sirius couldn't argue, embarrassed.
Chu Yang set the breakfast down on the outdoor folding table and turned to Sirius. "The bathroom on the second floor is ready for you, Mr. Black."
Looking at the young man with an Eastern face, Sirius suddenly recalled Dumbledore's words. It was this student, Chu Yang, who had captured Peter Pettigrew, leading to his release.
"You're Chu Yang?" Sirius asked.
Chu Yang smiled and nodded. "Let's save the conversation for breakfast. Please feel free to freshen up quickly."
Impressed by the boy's mature demeanor, Sirius complied, handing Harry over to Hagrid and heading to the cabin. Hermione stepped aside nervously, and Sirius politely thanked her.
"Not as scary as I imagined..." Hermione muttered, watching him disappear inside.
She turned to Chu Yang. "Who is he? And why do you call him Mr. Black?"
Chu Yang replied, "Black was a close friend of Harry's parents and is also Harry's godfather."
Hermione's eyes widened in shock.
Hagrid placed Harry on a bench and took out a root-like object from his pocket, wafting it under Harry's nose.
Harry woke with a gasp, relieved to see Hagrid instead of Sirius.
---
Soon, everyone gathered for breakfast. The aroma of the food had their mouths watering.
The door creaked open, and Sirius stepped out, looking refreshed despite his tattered clothes. His harsh demeanor had softened, though he still looked gaunt.
Hermione murmured, "Once cleaned up, he's actually quite handsome."
Sirius gave a small bow. "Thank you for the kind words, young lady."
Hermione blushed furiously.
"Come on, Black! Everyone's waiting for you," Hagrid urged, practically drooling over the food.
Sirius wasted no time, sitting beside Harry and savoring the meal's aroma.
Harry watched him curiously.
With everyone present, Chu Yang invited them to begin.
The sound of clinking utensils filled the air as everyone dug in enthusiastically.
"This vegetable stew is amazing! Just like my mum's cooking!" Ron exclaimed between mouthfuls.
Chu Yang chuckled. "That's a high compliment. Thank you, Ron."
Hermione, about to compliment the food herself, closed her mouth upon hearing this, glaring at Ron.
Confused, Ron shrugged.
After finishing his meal, Sirius grew awkward, unsure what to say. Chu Yang nudged Hagrid under the table, who coughed and began explaining Sirius' story.
Ron dropped his spoon in shock. "Wait... he's the one from Azkaban—"
Hermione quickly covered Ron's mouth.
Sirius smiled, unfazed.
Hagrid recounted the truth, and sympathy filled Ron and Hermione's eyes.
Sirius noticed their expressions and laughed. "Before coming here, I was filled with anger. But after seeing Harry, none of that matters anymore."
Sirius gazed at Harry warmly. "You're so much like your father, except for your eyes—they're just like Lily's."
Harry felt a sudden lump in his throat and tears welled up in his eyes.
Sirius pulled him into a firm embrace.
It was a moment Harry had dreamed of—a father figure holding him tightly.
As Harry opened up to Sirius, their bond deepened, though it became almost overly sentimental.
Ron and Hermione retreated to help Chu Yang with the dishes.
"Let's hope Harry's teenage years don't ruin their bond," Hagrid quipped, squeezing into the small cabin.
Ron snorted. "Didn't think about building a bigger cabin, did you?"
Hagrid dusted himself off. "It was urgent..."
Chu Yang and Hermione placed the washed dishes aside to dry. After wiping his hands, Chu Yang asked Hagrid, "Where's Headmaster Dumbledore?"
"Resting," Hagrid replied worriedly. "At his age, running around like this isn't good. I finally convinced him to go take a nap."
Chu Yang nodded.
However, to their surprise, Dumbledore appeared at the hut shortly after noon.
"Hagrid just left, and here you are. Were you intentionally avoiding him?"
"He keeps nagging me to rest, but I can't sleep with Horcruxes on my mind."
"You mean to say...?"
"I need Black to come with me to retrieve the last Horcrux."
The final Horcrux was hidden in the Black family's ancestral home, which could only be accessed with the help of a Black family member.
Dumbledore suddenly sighed. "Besides the Horcrux, there's also the matter of Regulus Arcturus Black. Someone needs to know, especially his brother, Sirius..."
As the two talked, the door to the hut swung open, and Sirius stepped out.
"I've taken up enough of Harry's time today. It's time I return him to his friends," Sirius said, nodding slightly toward Chu Yang. "I didn't get a chance to thank you earlier. Without you, I'd still be rotting in the darkness of Azkaban."
Chu Yang waved it off. "No need for thanks. For now, though, the Headmaster needs your help."
Sirius looked at Dumbledore with surprise. What could possibly prompt the great Dumbledore to seek his assistance?
Dumbledore said, "I need you to take me to the Black family's ancestral home. There's a possibility that Voldemort hid a Horcrux there."
Sirius instinctively shook his head. "Impossible. While the Black family believed in Voldemort's ideals and supported preserving pure wizarding bloodlines, they never truly became Death Eaters, except for..."
(Note: Narcissa and Bellatrix are not considered Black family members after marriage.)
Sirius trailed off, his expression tinged with sadness. "Except for Regulus. But he was killed by Voldemort long ago."
Dumbledore sighed. "Indeed, his death was connected to Voldemort, but he didn't die as a Death Eater."
Dumbledore then recounted the story of Regulus Black's death in detail.
Sirius trembled all over. If anyone else had told him this, he would have cursed them as a liar. But this was Dumbledore.
"Regulus..." Sirius's eyes welled up with tears.
"He was a hero," Dumbledore said with heartfelt conviction.
Sirius closed his eyes, his voice choked as he nodded repeatedly. After a long silence, he exhaled deeply. "I understand. I'll take you to the Black family home and help you find Voldemort's Horcrux."
Dumbledore reminded him, "It's best to go now."
Sirius glanced back at the hut, clearly reluctant to leave Harry.
Misinterpreting his hesitation as concern for Harry's safety, Dumbledore patted Chu Yang on the shoulder and smiled. "Don't worry. He'll keep Harry safe."
Sirius raised an eyebrow skeptically. "He looks about the same age as Harry."
Chu Yang chuckled. "Harry and I are classmates."
Sirius shook his head with a wry smile. "No offense, but you don't seem capable of protecting Harry—or even yourself. And Peter Pettigrew? He's hardly a competent wizard. Beating him isn't exactly an achievement worth boasting about."
Just as Dumbledore was about to explain, a figure suddenly rushed at Sirius, rearing up on its front hooves as if to stomp him. Startled, Sirius stumbled and fell.
"Firenze, stop!"
Chu Yang immediately called out, halting the centaur's actions.
Startled and furious, Sirius looked up to see a strikingly handsome centaur glaring at him coldly.
"Human wizard, I hope you'll show Mr. Chu Yang the respect he deserves!" Firenze stepped back a few paces.
Dumbledore helped Sirius to his feet, who asked in confusion, "Why is a centaur here?"
Dumbledore explained, "Firenze is a friend of Chu Yang's. He's kind and doesn't hold prejudice against humans."
Sirius muttered, "He didn't seem very kind to me..."
Dumbledore chuckled. "He said it himself: show Chu Yang respect. That's the key to getting along with him."
Sirius: "..."
Meanwhile, Chu Yang spoke quietly with Firenze before approaching Sirius. "Mr. Black, besides Firenze, I have other friends in the Forbidden Forest. If you're still worried about Harry's safety, I can introduce them to you."
Having learned his lesson, Sirius raised his hands in mock surrender. "Alright, alright, I get it. You have lots of friends. I'd rather not meet them for now!"
Dumbledore laughed heartily.
He then took out his wand, placing a hand on Sirius's shoulder. "Ready?"
Sirius nodded.
Dumbledore cast Apparition, and the two disappeared before Chu Yang's eyes.
With Sirius's help, Dumbledore would have no problem retrieving the locket. With this, all the Horcruxes were accounted for.
"It's time to prepare the tools to destroy the Horcruxes."
Night.
Once Harry and the others were asleep, Chu Yang mounted a unicorn and returned to Hogwarts, slipping into the girls' bathroom unnoticed.
The entrance to the Chamber of Secrets required Parseltongue to open, which Chu Yang couldn't use. Instead, he opted for a simpler method.
Forming hand seals, Chu Yang used Earth Release, merging into the ground and swimming through it. He found the tunnel leading to the Chamber and carefully descended to its depths.
After navigating the maze-like stone passages for a while, Chu Yang arrived at a stone door engraved with Slytherin's signature serpent patterns.
This was the place. Chu Yang placed a hand on the stone door and pushed hard. The ground trembled, and the door cracked like shattered glass before collapsing.
Chu Yang stepped into the Chamber of Secrets.
