Sovereign of the Abyss: Devouring the Multiverse

Chapter 3: Chapter 2 – Awakening in the Abyss

Darkness… Endless, suffocating darkness.

Kael's consciousness drifted in an abyss devoid of light, space, or even time. There was no pain, no warmth—only an overwhelming emptiness that clawed at his soul.

Then, a voice echoed in his mind.

> [Initializing Host Integration…]

[Soul Reconstruction – 3% Complete…]

His fragmented memories surged like a flood. Betrayal. Death. That damned woman.

His last moment played in his mind like a cruel joke—the smirk on her lips, the cold steel piercing his heart, the mocking whispers of those who watched as he fell.

Rage flared within him, hotter than ever before.

> [Warning: Emotional instability detected. Adjusting synchronization…]

Kael felt a chilling sensation wrap around his soul, like unseen chains binding his very essence. His rage didn't fade, but it was… restrained, controlled. Tamed.

> [Soul Reconstruction – 50% Complete…]

[Activating Abyssal Bloodline.]

A shudder ran through him as something ancient awakened deep inside. It was more than just power—it was a hunger, a right, an inheritance he had never known.

His body—or rather, his new form—began to take shape. Flesh, denser and stronger than before. Veins pulsing with raw, untamed energy. His senses sharpened beyond human limitations.

> [Host Evolution: Abyssborn – Complete.]

The void around him shattered.

---

A New World, A New Body

Kael's eyes snapped open. He was lying on cold, jagged stone, beneath a sky not of stars, but of swirling violet storms and blackened clouds.

Something was… different. His body felt powerful, yet alien. His arms bore deep, glowing runes—crimson sigils that pulsed with an ominous light. His fingers ended in sharp, claw-like tips.

He moved to stand, and the ground beneath him groaned, as if struggling to contain his presence.

> [Abyssborn Traits Activated.]

[Innate Predation: Devour and Assimilate.]

The moment the words formed in his mind, instinct surged through him. He understood. This new form—this Abyssborn race—was not just powerful, but designed to conquer.

He could devour the essence of other creatures, absorb their strengths, their abilities… their very souls.

A slow, wicked smile spread across his lips.

"Interesting."

The Abyss Calls

A distant roar shattered the silence.

Kael turned his head toward the source. A beast loomed in the distance—twisted, grotesque, with obsidian scales and six burning eyes. It was hunting him.

He felt no fear. Only a strange, intoxicating anticipation.

As the monstrous creature lunged, a new instinct kicked in. Kael's vision shifted—time slowed, his perception sharpening.

> [Predation Mode: Activated.]

His muscles tensed. He wasn't prey.

He was the predator.
