Sovereign of the Abyss: Devouring the Multiverse

Chapter 9: Chapter 8: Abyss Ascension

In the cold, desolate depths of the Abyssal Citadel, darkness reigned supreme. The air was thick with ancient resentment and forgotten souls that lingered, bound to this forsaken place.

Kael moved silently through the endless corridors, his footsteps echoing against the obsidian walls. His ashen silver hair, inherited from his newly devoured Shadow Predator bloodline, faintly shimmered under the dim, eerie light emitted by ancient runes carved into the walls.

Every step he took was guided by the Abyssal Codex, the sentient artifact that had fused with his soul upon reincarnation. It pulsed faintly, feeding him fragmented memories of ancient beings who once ruled this realm — beings who had long been erased from existence.

Kael's expression was cold and indifferent.

The betrayal from his past life still burned within him, etching a scar too deep to heal.

His own blood brother. His comrades. The woman he once loved.

They all turned on him.

In that moment, as blades pierced his body, and the world turned dark, something ancient within his soul awakened...

And now, he stood here.

No longer bound by human limitations.

No longer shackled by fate.

A Voidborn Sovereign, a race erased from the multiverse for threatening the very balance of existence.

But Kael... he was the last of his kind.

And this time, he would devour everything and ascend beyond the reach of any cosmic entity or system.

---

Kael's gaze shifted forward as the Codex's voice echoed in his mind.

[Warning: An ancient existence bound by celestial runes detected.]

Kael's eyes narrowed.

"Lead me to it," he commanded.

The Codex pulsed, and black abyssal mist spread from Kael's feet, guiding him toward the deeper layers of the Citadel.

---

After what felt like an eternity, Kael reached an ancient chamber where towering chains of celestial steel bound a terrifying existence.

A woman.

Her long, silver hair cascaded down her pale, flawless skin, and her eyes, burning with crimson flames, glared at Kael with endless hatred.

She was imprisoned here for countless eons — her true power sealed away.

Even in her weakened state, Kael could feel it.

The bloodline of an ancient Void Dragon. A creature that once ruled over the destruction of realms.

"Who… are you?" she rasped weakly, her voice carrying ancient rage and sorrow.

Kael stepped closer, the abyssal mist coiling around him.

"I am the one who will free you from your eternal chains," he said coldly.

The woman's eyes trembled.

She could feel it.

Something ancient… something forbidden.

This man… he wasn't mortal. Nor was he divine. He was something far more terrifying.

"...A Voidborn?" she whispered in disbelief.

Kael's gaze sharpened.

"So... you've realized."

The woman's eyes widened in horror.

"The multiverse… purged your kind… how can you… still exist?"

Kael didn't answer.

With a single step forward, he raised his hand, and black abyssal energy surged from his palm.

[『Abyssal Codex』 devouring ancient seal...]

The celestial runes trembled as cracks spread across them.

Chains forged from the very essence of cosmic laws shattered like fragile glass.

The moment her seal broke, a terrifying wave of primordial killing intent erupted from the woman's body, shaking the very foundations of the Citadel.

Kael stood unfazed as the black mist of the Void devoured her rage, suppressing her power effortlessly.

The woman staggered, falling to her knees. Her body, though freed, was still too weak from countless years of imprisonment.

Kael turned away.

"If you seek revenge against those who sealed you, follow me."

"If not... rot in this place."

The woman's eyes trembled.

For countless eons, she cursed her fate.

She dreamed of freedom.

Yet, she never thought...

A Voidborn would be the one to release her.

Her pride as a Void Dragon burned, but deep within her, something ancient stirred.

Fear.

Obsession.

Desire.

Without a second thought, she rose to her feet and followed him, her gaze locked onto Kael's back.

---

As Kael walked through the Citadel, the Codex's voice echoed again.

[Alert: Entities of the Outer Realms have sensed the Voidborn awakening.]

Kael smirked coldly.

"Let them come."

---

Far beyond this realm, in the highest heavens, celestial beings trembled.

In the depths of hell, demonic sovereigns stirred.

In forgotten realms where ancient gods slumbered, whispers spread like wildfire.

"The Voidborn... has returned."

---

Kael and the woman stepped out of the Abyssal Citadel, the endless void stretching before them.

The woman's eyes burned with newfound resolve as she spoke.

"...My name is Sylva Drakaria, the last Void Dragon of the Annihilation Lineage."

Kael glanced at her.

"I don't care who you were."

"From now on... you're mine."

Her heart skipped a beat.

Something primal awakened within her ancient soul...

Submission.

---

In the distant realms, ancient beings who once hunted the Voidborn watched in fear.

But none dared to stop him.

Because the Void...

Had awakened once more.
