Strongest Soldier King

Chapter 860: A Battle of Life and Death

Facing the fierce incoming attack, Luo Zheng knew that dodging would only lead to a passive position, and blocking would only result in defeat. With a gritted teeth, his sharp gaze flashed with a captivating red, he swiftly drew out his military knife, instead of retreating, he advanced, fiercely stabbing towards the opponent's heart, an all-out, risky maneuver. He understood that there was no chance of winning against such a master, but even if he were to die, he wanted to take a piece of flesh from the opponent to create an opportunity for his brothers.

The opponent didn't expect Luo Zheng to fight so desperately, and their movements showed no hesitation, knowing that in life-and-death situations, hesitation and reluctance would only deform one's actions, leading to a quicker death. Both hands swiftly reached out, one towards Luo Zheng's knife-wielding wrist to stop his attack, the other directly going for Luo Zheng's throat.

In such a deadlock fight, there is only one outcome: mutual injury. Luo Zheng calculated that since the opponent was stronger, they wouldn't opt for a method that ensures mutual injury, but rather block and simultaneously deliver a fatal blow to him. His knife-wielding hand did not evade or change move, but rather he firmly thrust hard. Still, he couldn't avoid the opponent's grip.

His wrist was seized, the attacking force hindered. Luo Zheng was mentally prepared and didn't panic, feeling the opponent gripping his throat. He knew in two seconds he'd be dead. In this critical moment, Luo Zheng held his breath, tensed his neck, preventing the opponent from crushing his trachea and throat, while his immobilized wrist remained inactive yet his fingers seemed to suddenly come alive, skillfully twisting.

The Tiger Teeth military knife seemed to gain life, suddenly changing direction, and under the flick of his fingers, it flashed like lightning towards the opponent's throat.

Everything happened so fast, so suddenly. In the blink of an eye, the opponent never anticipated that even with Luo Zheng's wrist seized, he could so deftly play with the knife using just his fingers, leaving no time to react. They just felt a chilling murderous intent sweeping over, pain in the neck, causing the brain to become disoriented.

Perhaps sensing their impending death, the opponent went all out, with a terrifying murderous glint in their cold gaze, suddenly unleashing a burst of potential, their arm muscles tensed, surging with enormous force, trying to drag Luo Zheng down with them even in death.

Ghost Hand had already rushed over. Renowned as Ghost Hand, the close combat skills were incredibly agile and unpredictable. Seeing Luo Zheng's throat gripped, Ghost Hand charged forward with all might. Just at the moment when the opponent's entire body burst with energy, Ghost Hand's military knife fiercely struck the vital artery on the inside of the opponent's wrist.

The back of the hand is muscular and has bones, a cut could at most open a wound but couldn't stop the opponent's instant burst of power. The wrist's vital artery was different; with one cut, blood spurted intensely, power immediately ceased, and the force reaching Luo Zheng's throat abruptly halted.

Almost simultaneously, Snow Leopard, seeing Luo Zheng restrained, furiously lunged, wrapping both arms around the opponent's head, forcefully locking it without hesitation. The opponent's throat was slit by the military knife, the neck muscles lost ability to resist, and were ruthlessly snapped by Snow Leopard. At almost the same time, Mountain Eagle's military knife stabbed into the opponent's armpit. This position being injured also hinders the exertion of strength. The three of them attacked the opponent nearly at the same time, and in this critical moment, Luo Zheng's life was preserved.

Luo Zheng pried open the opponent's fingers, broke free, gasping heavily, inwardly alarmed at how formidable this guy was. Even with their throat attacked, they could still unleash power. If the rescue had been even a tenth of a second slower, he feared he would have been dead.

Looking at the dead opponent, Luo Zheng squatted down to check, and only after confirming there was no silicone mask, did he slowly stand up and said with relief, "This guy is indeed formidable. He looks like Charlie whom we know, but we'll only know for sure after conducting a cranial analysis. Thanks, brothers."

"We're brothers, can't let you risk your life alone." Ghost Hand said with lingering fear, "Are you alright?"

"If your stab was a bit slower, I might not have survived," Luo Zheng replied with a wry smile.

"You were risky enough, but if you hadn't first wounded the opponent with Finger Knife, stopping him from delivering a fatal blow, although it was a short time, we might not have been able to save you in time. We were really lucky," Ghost Hand said with gratitude.

"Let's not talk about this. Bring him along, we're going for support," Luo Zheng said, shaking his neck.

"I'll do it," Snow Leopard said as he carried the dead man, and the group quickly headed towards the villa.

Upon reaching the villa entrance, everyone saw that the battle was already over, and the team was cleaning up the battlefield. Several bodies lay on the ground, all strangers. Hong Meihua hurriedly ran over from the villa's main entrance. The battle scenes had already been transmitted to Hong Meihua through the earpiece Luo Zheng wore.

Snow Leopard threw the corpse on the ground, Hong Meihua squatted down to carefully identify it, then hurriedly took photos and rushed inside the villa. Luo Zheng knew Hong Meihua would go for cranial analysis to confirm the real identity of the opponent. Looking at the approaching Lan Xue, he asked, "How's the battle situation?"

"Shortly after you left, a dozen people suddenly attacked. Fortunately, we weren't knocked out by Poison Smoke, so we sprung a counterattack on them, took down all dozen of them, not a single one escaped. Filled with rage, the brothers hit hard, so there were no survivors. Everyone is fine," Lan Xue said with a smile. All the dead were enemies, so it didn't matter.

Luo Zheng also didn't mind, as long as everyone's alright. He couldn't help but smile and said, "Well done, I knew you could do it. Once we confirm that bastard is Charlie, everything will be perfect."

"How confident are you?" Lan Xue asked, looking at the corpses on the ground. Having encountered impostors before, everyone became cautious and didn't dare make conclusions lightly.

"Seventy to eighty percent sure. This guy was exceptionally tough; it took the combined effort of us four to subdue him. Even if he isn't Charlie, someone of such skill must be quite significant," Luo Zheng said seriously. Seeing Ghost Hand wanting to speak, Luo Zheng knew Ghost Hand wanted to mention his risky actions, so he glared at Ghost Hand, who gave a sheepish smile.

"What happened?" Lan Xue, so perceptive, asked, knowing something was off.

"Nothing, was just thinking of praising the younger brother a bit, didn't expect his knife skills to be so good. Judging by his look, I guess he doesn't like others praising him," Ghost Hand quickly changed the topic.

Lan Xue didn't believe this nonsense but didn't ask further. Distance creates beauty, knowing everything isn't necessarily good, be it between couples, between men and women, or among comrades. Lan Xue turned around and shouted to Shi Feng not far away, "After photographing and collecting evidence, have someone take the body away. Also, tell the neighbors it was an anti-terrorism exercise. Such a big commotion, people around surely heard it, it wouldn't be good if the truth got out."

Luo Zheng gave Ghost Hand an approving glance, thinking this guy reacted quite fast. He looked at Lan Xue and continued, "Let's go, see if it's really that bastard Charlie."
