Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 821 Lin Shen's Estimate

Lin Shen was still analyzing the little jade box, unaware that its placement on the Commerce Star ranking list had already sent shockwaves through the cosmos.

Lin Shen took out the note to examine it, considering whether it was worth trying to see if the words on it would really work.

"Third Brother said this thing can only be used once; it shares the same mysterious efficacy as those Guardian Spirits. It can't be used casually," Lin Shen thought, but suddenly, he heard Tian Jiuyou's voice from outside.

Startled, Lin Shen hastily stowed away the note and the small jade box and stepped out of the wooden cabin, and indeed saw Tian Jiuyou standing in front of the Dark Bird Temple.

"A Dark Bird Temple even shows up here?" Tian Jiuyou commented while sizing up the temple.

Chi Tianai approached with a look of joy, saying, "Master You, you've finally returned. I thought you had left me here all alone."

Tian Jiuyou replied, "Ai, I have to send you back now."

"So soon?" Chi Tianai blinked in surprise.

"I wanted to let you enjoy yourself a few more days, but there's been a change of plans, so you need to go back," sighed Tian Jiuyou.

Lin Shen watched the two converse in a daze; he realized his earlier suspicions might have been wrong. Chi Tianai didn't seem to be tricked by Tian Jiuyou at all; she seemed well aware of Tian Jiuyou's identity, and they appeared to be close.

The fact that Tian Jiuyou was talking about taking her back ruled out his previous speculation even more.

"What happened?" Chi Tianai asked with a hint of surprise.

"Let's just say, it's bad news. Once you get back, stay at home and don't go out arbitrarily," cautioned Tian Jiuyou.

"Master You, I understand," Chi Tianai obediently nodded, then turned to Lin Shen and said, "Mr. Enemy, I'm leaving now. Regardless, we have met; can you tell me your name?" Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire

"What's your relationship with him?" Lin Shen asked, frowning.

"He's Master You, a relative of mine," answered Chi Tianai.

Lin Shen finally affirmed that his previous thoughts were indeed mistaken; how could he have imagined that the Chi Family's young princess from Tianyan Lake was related to Tian Jiuyou, a renegade of the Celestial Race?

Tian Jiuyou looked at them both with surprise, puzzled that Chi Tianai didn't know Lin Shen's name.

Lin Shen was quite well-known among the younger generation; Chi Tianai should have recognized him.

However, seeing Lin Shen's shabby attire, Tian Jiuyou understood why Chi Tianai couldn't identify him.

"Forget the name; I hope we won't meet again in the future," Lin Shen thought, suspecting that the Chi Family of Tianyan Lake had betrayed them.

Otherwise, how could Chi Tianai get so close to Tian Jiuyou, a renegade, and even claim kinship?

After all, he was aligned with Emperor Tianshu, and if the Chi Family from Tianyan Lake truly had turned traitor, then he and Chi Tianai would be on opposing sides.

Honestly, Lin Shen didn't want to become enemies with such a girl, but reality wasn't a game of house, and anything could happen; Lin Shen needed to be cautious.

Chi Tianai seemed somewhat disappointed but still said with a smile, "I hope that we can meet again next time. By then, I'll definitely know your name."

As she spoke, Chi Tianai thrust something into Lin Shen's hand and, without waiting for a reaction, walked back to Tian Jiuyou.

"Kid, how dare you reject my little Ai. I'll settle the score with you later," Tian Jiuyou said, grabbing Chi Tianai's arm and disappearing instantly.

Lin Shen looked down and noticed it was the "Origin Mix Force" diary that Chi Tianai had wanted to give him before.

"This is my last chance." Lin Shen immediately rushed towards the Dark Bird Temple. If he couldn't escape before Tian Jiuyou returned, he feared he would never have another chance.

After entering the Dark Bird Temple, Lin Shen didn't hesitate and went straight to the platform to set his own price.

"If little Yudou can be estimated at twenty-one coins, my price is definitely much higher. I'll set a low starting price—one bottle of Base Mutation Fluid for the exchange. Others seeing such a bargain will definitely rush to buy, and the rest I'll leave to luck," Lin Shen had already calculated in his heart, a strategy born out of necessity.

As long as he wasn't bought by a sworn enemy, he could simply breach the contract and pay the other party ten bottles of Base Mutation Fluid to walk away.

With this thought in mind, the platform's estimated price appeared.

Lin Shen saw the number and his eyes widened in disbelief, feeling as disgusted as if he'd swallowed a fly.

"How is this possible? How can I only be worth one Commerce Star Coin? You must be mistaken," Lin Shen's face turned green.

Even if he didn't have something as valuable as the little jade box, he should be worth more than little Yudou, right?

In a one-on-one duel, he was much stronger than Yudou, not to mention all the valuable items he possessed. Initially, Lin Shen thought his estimated price might even be higher than the little jade box, after all, it was also on him.

"Because the value cannot be estimated, we can only offer a minimum starting bid of one coin," the Spirit of Commerce Star responded to Lin Shen's query.

Lin Shen felt a little better but he couldn't worry about that now. He had to sell himself immediately.

He had previously thought his estimate would be high and that people would rush to buy him, but now that he was only valued at one Commerce Star Coin, it was unlikely people would notice him, and whether someone would buy him immediately was uncertain.

Lin Shen hesitated for a moment and then put himself up in the trading area, priced at one Heavenly Currency coin.

Heavenly Currency is the currency of the Celestial Race; other races don't use it for trade, so it's less likely that they have it on hand, making it more probable for a member of the Celestial Race to buy him.

As long as he didn't fall into the hands of the Diman Tribe or his enemies, being bought by the Celestial Race posed the least danger.

Lin Shen didn't know if he could sell himself in time. One Heavenly Currency coin was very cheap, so someone should be interested.

He had been somewhat anxious, afraid that he wouldn't be able to sell himself before Tian Jiuyou came back.

But as soon as he entered the trading area, someone offered to buy him, and the trade request appeared in front of Lin Shen.

Lin Shen could only see that the other party's offer was one Heavenly Currency coin; he didn't know who the trader was. At this moment, he couldn't care less and immediately agreed to the trade.

After agreeing to the trade, Lin Shen only felt the light and shadows change as he was teleported away from the platform.

Tian Jiuyou sent Chi Tianai back to her home and opened his mouth as if to say something, but Chi Tianai stopped him, "Master You, I want him to tell me his name himself."

Tian Jiuyou was slightly taken aback and then laughed, "You young people really know how to have fun."

Chi Tianai smiled with pursed lips, "I just haven't fallen so low that I need to go around asking for other people's names. I'm waiting for him to tell me himself. Master You, don't force him; that would just take the fun out of it."

"Alright," Tian Jiuyou turned around to leave but then paused, his back turned to Chi Tianai, he said, "Little Ai, the cosmos might not be peaceful in the future. Take good care of yourself, and if anything happens, call for Master You."

"Master You..." Chi Tianai wanted to say something, but Tian Jiuyou had already disappeared.
