"Is it not possible?" Xizi Yue asked.

"Okay."

As she spoke, Xiaohongmao stood up expressionlessly, her body enveloped in a cocoon of light.

As the cocoon light shattered, her body returned to its original form: messy shoulder-length black hair, hollow-cheeked and sallow-faced, emaciated; she was the very image of a malnourished girl.

She was wearing an old men's T-shirt with jeans that didn't quite fit, as if they were scavenged from a second-hand clothing market.

Unlike her calm demeanor while transformed, Xiaohongmao now slightly turned her cheek, clasping her hands behind her back as though she didn't like to be seen in this embarrassing state.

Ash propped her chin, glanced at her, opened her mouth slightly but then halted, her eyes dropping to the table, and the tapping of her index finger on her arm ceased.

After observing Xiaohongmao for a while, Xizi Yue said calmly, "Congratulations, you've passed the audit. Once you sign the contract later, you'll be a member of the Magical Girl Alliance."

"Can I transform back now?" Xiaohongmao suddenly asked.

"Of course you can."

"Thank you, I don't really like how I look untransformed, both the clothes and the person are ugly," Xiaohongmao murmured, gripping her magic wand a bit tighter, her figure once again wrapped in the cocoon light, quickly transforming back into the blonde, blue-eyed girl in the Christmas dress.

As she sat down again, the classroom was briefly shrouded in silence.

Xizi Yue popped a chip into her mouth and broke the silence, "Ash, because of the frequent disciplinary actions you've had lately, I'm going to deduct a portion of your salary this month and give it to Xiaohongmao."

"Fine, let's do that."

Magical Girl Ash said indifferently, with an unexpected lack of protest.

"But why... why give her my money?" Xiaohongmao paused, looking up at Xizi Yue, puzzled.

"There's no particular reason," Xizi Yue answered, "I heard you've been helping this girl out a lot lately. My foolish apprentice owes you for your help, so it's only fitting that you get paid." After speaking, she took out a stack of banknotes from the Magic Book, placed them in an envelope, and using magic power, floated it towards Xiaohongmao.

Xiaohongmao was silent for a moment, then reached out to catch the envelope hovering in the air, "Thank you."

Magical Girl Ash lowered her head, fiddling with her cell phone, and said nonchalantly, "Do you know where to buy nice clothes, or do you need me to take you?"

"No, I can buy them myself," Xiaohongmao shook her head.

Ash said, "Since you've taken my salary, don't let me see you still wearing those clothes next time I see you."

Xiaohongmao said, "I'm just saving up to buy a cellphone, I don't have money for new clothes."

"No worries, the Alliance pays a salary every month, and if push comes to shove, just get an advance from my mentor."

"Hmm."

"Also, remember to eat well every day. You're still growing, understand? You're the first magic girl I've seen who eats dirt, it's unbelievable."

"Hmm."

"Don't just hmm, did you get that?" Ash's tone turned serious.

"Okay, I got it."

Xiaohongmao said softly, her lips curving into a slight smile.

Magical Girl Ash stared at her smiling face for a good while, thinking it was the first time she'd seen this girl smile and how pretty it made her look.

Snapping back to reality, she blushed and turned her cheek away, looking down at her phone screen while muttering, "What a weirdo..."

Xizi Yue continued to silently observe the two while eating chips. Just then, the Magic Book on the table began to vibrate.

She raised an eyebrow, opened the Magic Book, and took out her cell to glance at a message.

Then she spoke, "A guest is coming over in a bit, and he's got a bit of a temper, so both of you remember to mind your behavior."

"If I don't understand something, I'll ask, mentor, who's coming?" Ash said irritably, "Is his face so big that we have to mind our manners for him?"

"Qing Ya."

As Xizi Yue responded while replying to a message on her cell phone.

Upon hearing this name, both Magical Girl Ash and Magical Girl Xiaohongmao froze in place.
