Chapter 448: Chapter 448: Kara Finds a Solution to Self-Destruction
"This guy's strength is so powerful?!" When Hellboy saw Robert disappear, his expression changed. He hadn't paid much attention to Robert initially, but the speed Robert displayed was completely beyond Hellboy's expectations, even comparable to Seladar. In Hellboy's mind, Robert had already risen to the level of a top-tier demon king!
This made Hellboy more cautious, and he realized that what Constantine had mentioned before might not be a lie. Robert and Constantine might really have killed two demon kings!
"Who is he?" Hellboy asked, looking deeply at Constantine. "Is there really someone in this world who's not afraid of getting tricked by you?"
"A master, a very high-level one!" Constantine smiled proudly, as if praising himself, and said excitedly, "It's the kind of level you can't even imagine!"
"Oh? But it's not you, so why are you so excited? Besides, he's already left. No matter how strong he is, it has nothing to do with you. You're still a small fry..." Hellboy glanced at Constantine, reminding him.
"..." Constantine was momentarily speechless at Hellboy's words. He didn't know how to respond, but soon, he remembered what Robert had said earlier. Looking at Hellboy seriously, he said, "He told us to find the whereabouts of that demon king. My senses are not very clear; you probably can't sense it clearly either, right? How about we cooperate?"
"Cooperate? Who else besides that guy would dare to cooperate with you, Constantine?" Hellboy immediately distanced himself from Constantine. He indeed had no intention of letting Seladar go, but he also absolutely wouldn't cooperate with Constantine! Even with Robert as an exception, Hellboy couldn't trust Constantine's character, given his notorious reputation!
Honestly, since cooperating with Robert and establishing the magic base, Constantine had tricked people much less. At least he hadn't harmed the people at the magic base, only occasionally tricking outsiders. But this still led to continued rumors of Constantine being despicable.
Therefore, Hellboy had no intention of cooperating with Constantine. His figure flashed, and he left, heading towards the vague sense of Seladar's location.
"Heh, do you think you can avoid cooperating with me? Seeing how eagerly you pursue him, you probably have a trump card to kill that demon king. Maybe I can snatch your spoils if the Saiyan doesn't come..." Constantine laughed as he watched Hellboy disappear, a hint of excitement in his expression.
When Robert was around, Constantine had to suppress his desire to snatch others' spoils to pay off his debts. Now that Robert was gone, he could hardly restrain himself. If Robert didn't return, Constantine would certainly use his methods to snatch Seladar from Hellboy.
Soon, Constantine's figure also disappeared from the scene, leaving behind a dilapidated tavern and a mess. After some time, the extraordinary individuals who had left cautiously peeked back. Once they confirmed no one was around, they felt relieved and started rebuilding the tavern.
Extraordinary individuals have a regional aspect; they generally don't wander too far. Moving to another territory is difficult due to unfamiliar information and the risk of unknown dangers. Thus, even though the tavern was destroyed, they chose to rebuild it, as they were accustomed to gathering there.
"Damn it! A hell lord's child using such disgusting powers—I'll kill him if I get the chance!" Meanwhile, Seladar appeared in a dark corner, angrily cursing while tending to his wounds.
Initially, Seladar intended to kill Hellboy, but Hellboy's behavior seemed odd, so he decided to abandon the fight with the lunatic and heal himself first. After all, being on Earth, even minor injuries could be dangerous if they affected his combat power in case of trouble.
Yes, even now, Seladar didn't suspect Hellboy's identity. Even though Hellboy used weapons that seemed like advanced technology and countered hellish powers, Seladar didn't think Hellboy's identity was questionable.
In Seladar's understanding, angels might betray Heaven, but demons would never betray Hell, let alone defect to Earth's side. So, facing a confident yet weaker Hellboy, Seladar decided to endure it and focus on his boss's plan—summoning his boss to Earth...
If Hellboy attacked his boss, the situation would change entirely. Seladar didn't believe that a true hell lord would fear Hellboy!
Certainly, Hellboy's bloodline might come from a powerful hell lord, but that didn't mean Hellboy himself had the strength or qualification to challenge another hell lord!
Moreover, Seladar could shift the risk away from himself by completing his boss's plan. "Hmph! When my boss arrives, we'll settle the score!" Seladar sneered and disappeared again.
Soon, Hellboy appeared, looking puzzled as he examined the surroundings. Seladar seemed to be here, but now there was no trace. Hellboy left, continuing his search for clues about Seladar, and after he left, Constantine appeared, smiling.
Compared to Hellboy, Constantine was more confident in tracking Seladar. Constantine had tracking spells, and trading a tracking spell for a top-tier demon king was worth it, even if the spell's cost was high!
However, Constantine didn't rush to use the tracking spell. If he could follow Hellboy and reap the benefits without using the spell, why not? If he were cooperating with Hellboy, he might use his abilities, but since Hellboy refused to cooperate, Constantine saw no reason to contribute...
Meanwhile, on another battlefield, Kara was fighting a hell demon king. This demon king was also at the top-tier level. Previously, Kara might have struggled against such an opponent, but after some training, her strength surpassed this demon king.
Now, Kara had truly reached the lower limit of a hell lord, equivalent to a god's level. Regardless, this strength was above the demon king level...
However, Kara's abilities had limitations. In physical combat, she could completely crush the demon king. In energy clashes, Kara couldn't utilize new energy like Clark, but she could suppress the enemy with her heat vision. But she struggled against soul-based attacks!
Fortunately, Kara's raw power surpassed the demon king. If the fight were evenly matched, Kara might have lost due to her lack of soul-based abilities...
With a bang, Kara punched the demon king into the ground, causing the observing Ancient One to show a hint of helplessness. At the demon king level, the Ancient One couldn't ignore the fight, but there were too many hell demon kings this time. Robert didn't kill them all at once, instead letting Kara and others fight on different battlefields, forcing the Ancient One to oversee each one without conveniently using the mirror dimension.
"Kryptonians! Damn it! How are they so strong? This is a conspiracy! A plot against our hell dimension!" The demon king in the pit was furious. They had been cautious since arriving on Earth, not killing innocents before arriving, yet they were discovered by such powerful beings, leading the demon king to suspect they were lured into a trap!
"If I can't have it, neither can anyone else!" The demon king's eyes flashed fiercely. He knew he couldn't win and couldn't reopen the gate to Hell to escape under Kara's relentless attacks. So, he decided to go all out!
"If you chose this battlefield, be prepared! This time, it won't be Hell that's destroyed, but your Earth! Die!"
With a buzz, a terrifying energy surged from the demon king, expanding continuously and shaking everything around.
"Self-destruct? Can't these demon kings come up with something new?" Just arriving, Robert sensed this move and shook his head helplessly. This wasn't the first demon king to self-destruct. Whether it was the first top-tier demon king Robert encountered or the two he sacrificed with Constantine, they seemed to like self-destructing in desperate situations.
"I can handle it!" Kara heard Robert's voice and didn't let him intervene. She flashed into the ground and punched the demon king skyward.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Kara's punches were relentless, each faster than the last. Each time she punched the demon king into the air, she would follow up with another punch, sending him higher and higher.
Under Kara's relentless assault, the demon king's internal energy grew increasingly unstable, but Kara wasn't worried. Her x-ray vision had already analyzed the demon king's internal state, and her super-brain calculated that she could perfectly punch the demon king out of Earth's atmosphere, possibly even out of the solar system!
Finally, after Kara's persistent efforts, the demon king's body flew out of Earth's range, becoming a silent firework in space without affecting Earth.
"This is quite similar to sending enemies into the sun," Robert said emotionally as he watched the firework in the distant space.
"Don't get any ideas!" The Ancient One appeared beside Robert, looking at him warily. "The sun isn't that solid. With your destructive power, you might blow it up, and then Earth would be doomed!"
"Uh..." Robert looked at the Ancient One and laughed, "Then I'll have to ask you, Ancient One, to create more mirror dimensions in future battles!"
The Ancient One sighed heavily, opened a portal, and left feeling low-spirited. With the increase in extraordinary powers, her workload hadn't decreased but rather increased, making her see no hope for retirement or a vacation in the future.
