Chapter 11: Chapter 10: The Demon Falls

Chapter 10: The Demon Falls

Beacon Hills – The Clash of Titans

The Hunter Leader moved first.

One moment he stood still—

The next, he was a blur of golden light, his blade crackling with holy energy as he rushed toward the demon.

The demon's massive claw swung down, aiming to crush him in a single strike.

But—

He was already gone.

A flash of light—

A clean slash.

The demon roared in agony as black ichor sprayed from a fresh wound across its arm.

Scott barely had time to process what he was witnessing.

The Hunter Leader was toying with it.

The demon lunged again, its fangs bared, its movements causing the entire building to shake.

The Hunter Leader ducked, twisting his body in mid-air, then—

He brought his blade down once more.

A blinding arc of holy light followed, severing the demon's claw clean off.

The creature howled, stumbling back as it clutched its now-missing limb.

Scott and the others could only watch.

This wasn't a fight.

It was an execution.

The Hunter Leader stood before the wounded beast, unfazed.

Then, without warning—

He disappeared again.

A second later, he reappeared directly above the demon's head.

His blade shimmered.

His golden aura exploded outward.

Then—he brought his sword down, piercing straight through the demon's skull.

For a brief moment, everything was still.

Then—

The demon's entire body cracked apart like shattered glass.

With a final, pained screech, it collapsed into dust, disintegrating completely.

Silence.

The Hunter Leader stepped forward, his blade still glowing as he turned his gaze to the Necromancer.

"You were saying something about the abyss?" His voice was laced with amusement.

The Necromancer stared in stunned disbelief.

"This… this isn't possible."

His voice wavered. For the first time, he looked afraid.

Scott could hardly blame him.

The Hunter Leader had effortlessly destroyed something that should have been unstoppable.

The Necromancer took a step back.

The Hunter Leader didn't give him a chance.

He vanished again.

And in an instant—he was right in front of the Necromancer.

Before the dark sorcerer could react, the Hunter Leader drove his fist into his chest, sending him crashing through the walls.

The Necromancer tumbled across the ground, gasping for breath.

"You thought summoning a demon would save you?" the Hunter Leader asked, stepping toward him.

The Necromancer's hands trembled as he tried to summon another spell, but—

The Hunter Leader moved faster.

His blade pressed against the Necromancer's throat.

"Make another move," he warned, "and I'll remove your head."

The Necromancer stilled.

For the first time, he understood.

This wasn't a battle he could win.

"You're all fools," he hissed. "The Drach won't stop. The Neamoton's seal is weakening. Even if you kill me, the abyss will still consume this world."

The Hunter Leader remained unfazed.

"If you know that much," he said, "then you also know that I don't care."

Then—he raised his blade.

The Necromancer's eyes widened.

"Wait, we can make a dea—"

The Hunter Leader didn't let him finish.

With a single, clean strike—

He severed the Necromancer's head.

The body collapsed.

The battle was over.

Aftermath

Scott exhaled slowly, his heartbeat still racing.

The others were just as stunned.

Lydia whispered, "Is it… is it really over?"

Argent kept his gun trained on the fallen corpse. "For now."

Scott turned toward the Hunter Leader, his voice quiet but firm.

"You saved us," he said. "Again."

The Hunter Leader wiped his blade clean, his golden aura fading.

"You were reckless," he replied. "If I hadn't shown up, you'd all be dead."

Scott swallowed hard.

The worst part? He was right.

The Hunter Leader sheathed his weapon, then turned to leave.

Scott took a step forward. "Wait—"

The Hunter Leader paused, but didn't look back.

Scott clenched his fists. "What happens now?"

The Hunter Leader's voice was quiet.

"Now?" He finally turned, his eyes locking onto Scott's.

"Now the real war begins."
