Chapter 84: Theocracy Encounters (Wrap Up)
Night Silver took a moment to stare at all of the corpses where her enemies lay. She spent extra time staring at one. I'm going to confiscate these world items… Everything else they have isn't really worth my time… Though… I should take what I can anyway. Who knows if my babies will need it… Once finished gathering the valuable items to include world items. She spun upon her heel, in a way reminiscent of a classical dance. Her hair follows her swift and smooth motion. Stopping herself from spinning in circles, she calmly walked out of the room. I suppose I should make a quick stop by their treasury too… After all, Sister Water is coming with me. I won't take it all though, Brother Death may still yet need it… Hmm… She thought as a message spell came in.
"Sister Nature, you're not going to try and kill me are you? I swear I don't think like they do. I thought it was all an in game act. I didn't expect them to go crazy like this…" God of Death asked, a little nervous once he felt Night Silver closing in on his location.
"Oh, you don't have anything to worry about from me. You do have a hell of a task to take care of in the future. You'll be responsible for making this nation a nice place to live. And rooting out the worst parts of humanity… The seeds those four idiots sowed will undoubtedly have been spread far and wide by now. So much so I'm just taking my people and leaving." Night Silver replied, controlling her anger. It's alright, he doesn't really even have feelings.
"I'll do my best. I don't really see much difference between any race now that we are here in this world. A Goblin or a Human… Same difference to me, let alone an Elf or Human." God of Death chuckled a slight bit for a second before being suppressed.
"That's reassuring. Forgive me in advance, but with how current events played out, I'm taking back all of the World Items I lent you guys. You can keep the dress if you can convince Sister Water. Oh, and I'm going to take a bit of what's in the vault." Night Silver replied with a slightly relaxed yet stern stone, there wasn't really any way to contest her.
"Go for it. Just leave enough for me to operate this place properly. And for now, Sister Water can keep that dress, the two of you are the only ones capable of wielding it anyway." God of Death agreed, albeit with a slight bit of reluctance in his tone. I just want some peace and quiet for a while. Anything to get that…
With the agreement reached, Night Silver looked around the treasury, taking everything that seemed worthwhile to take. The security for the area was pitiful in all honesty, but that's what happens when the guild base is spending energy to keep itself from falling apart. And now, with the spoils of combat in her possession. A book appeared before her, her lips curled to a warm smile. He really isn't like the others. Funny how the god of death is more willing to be fair, than the god of life. She continued walking until she left the castle, breathing the fresh air of the outdoors once again she stretched in an overly frustrated manner.
The outside was bustling with onlookers, each eyeing the castle with an intense curiosity. Most were terrified, however, once Night Silver walked out… The situation became clearer.
"Hmm, there's quite the gathering here…" Night Silver chuckled.
"MOMMY!" The little girl that had left with the Water Goddess came running up to Night Silver, jumping to clear the distance, her eyes filled with tears.
"Hey there, I know that must have been scary. But everything is fine now. You're safe. The bad guys are gone. And they will never threaten you again." Night Silver consoled, embracing the child in a motherly tone and many kisses.
The girl buried her face into Night Silver's bosom, tears still flowing. And then she popped her face up to look at Night Silver directly in the eyes. "More…" She murmured.
"Hmm, more?" You want more… Oh I know." Night Silver smiled, and then continued with motherly kisses all over the little girl's forehead, and face. All while wiping away the tears. "You really must have been scared. You can sleep with me for a few nights. How's that?" She suggested.
The little girl almost squeed with a smile as she giggled and nodded. "Mhmm! … You can tell us a bedtime story too, right mommy?" She said, with eyes as bright as the sun itself.
"Sure, let's do that. Now, then… It seems like almost everyone has gathered here." Night Silver nodded, then changed the subject, noting that there was someone walking towards her. "Oh, I remember you. You're one of the first few women elves I had the pleasure of talking with in the bath." She mentioned, with a kind smile.
"Yes, that's right mother!" The woman blushed. "I… I am here to tell you that this is all who decided to come with us. So everyone that is leaving to live in mother's paradise, has already assembled." She explained, a slight bit nervous about telling Night Silver. I hope she doesn't get mad.
"Oh? Interesting. Then the others have decided to take another path… I can respect that. I just hope they know that, no matter what their choice is…" Night Silver said, glancing to a couple pairs of eyes a little ways away… "I'll always be willing to come to their aid, should they need it. And I grant them my blessing to live as they please in this beautiful and bountiful world." She continued, making sure she was loud enough for the others to hear.
"Pfft, sister Nature. You're really, truly a loving goddess. I'm now all the more eager to see this Dragon Lord who managed to catch your eye." The Water Goddess smirked, as she came close with the other two children who were similarly still petrified and refused to let go of their aunt.
"Hmm, then let us return. I'm eager to show all of you the beautiful place I've started to build. Let it be a sanctuary for the weary to come back home… Home to their mother's arms." Night Silver smiled, and silently used a spell to lift everyone nearby up into the air to begin their journey.
