Chapter 362: [362] All Members, Charge!
Morning of the seventh day of the expedition.
The thirteen-member assault team stood assembled at the center of the camp, fully prepared.
"This is the promised delivery!"
Miss Tsubaki gave a meaningful glance.
The surrounding high-ranking blacksmiths began retrieving weapons wrapped in white cloth from their luggage.
Five weapons were placed before the first-class adventurers, excluding Ais, Riveria, and Eiji.
"That is...!"
"The legendary indestructible arms!"
The surrounding guild members grew excited, casting admiring gazes toward the five weapons.
Without a doubt, these were the world's top-tier armaments. Equipping such weapons was one of an adventurer's lifelong dreams.
"Go ahead and unwrap them!"
Finn, Gareth, Bete, Tiona, and Tione each stepped forward and removed the white cloth covering their respective weapons.
From within the cloth, a dazzling, pure silver radiance burst forth.
"These are the Roland series, custom-made for each of you, perfectly tailored to meet your individual needs!"
Tsubaki puffed out her chest with pride.
She had forged these herself.
And in all of Orario, she was the only one capable of crafting such armaments!
Finn received a spear, Gareth a great battle-axe, Bete dual swords, Tiona a greatsword, and Tione an axe-spear.
Each supreme-class weapon emitted an incredibly sharp silver glow.
"So this is an indestructible weapon—it feels so light!"
Tiona gleefully gripped her greatsword, swinging it through the air with a whooshing sound.
The first-class adventurers tested the feel of their indestructible weapons while the surrounding guild members marveled.
"Are these indestructible weapons the same as Ais's Desperate?"
Eiji asked curiously to the two beside him: "Do they really have that special indestructible effect?"
"Correct."
Ais nodded lightly.
"Indestructible weapons are forged from the world's hardest metal—orichalcum."
Riveria, displaying the vast knowledge of an elven royal, explained in detail to Eiji.
"This metal is incredibly durable, classified as the hardest-grade material. Even Gareth's monstrous strength can't break it. When forged by a master blacksmith, its strength is unmatched in the world."
"Ais's beloved sword, Desperate, is also made of orichalcum."
I see.
Generally, adventurers only needed to raise one or two of their five basic abilities to rank D to meet the minimum standard for leveling up.
But those who pursued true strength would often push themselves to their limits before advancing.
For example, Bete would raise his agility to rank S, Finn would maximize his dexterity to S, and Riveria would focus on magic power.
As for Gareth, being a dwarf most skilled in brute strength, he would always train both his strength and endurance to the highest rank, S, before leveling up.
In other words, among Level 6 adventurers, no one could surpass Gareth in raw power and defense.
If anyone could, it would have to be an Level 7 powerhouse—such as Orario's strongest, the boaz captain of the Freya Familia, Ottar.
If even Gareth couldn't damage this metal, then it truly must be incredibly hard.
This was probably prepared to deal with those green caterpillar monsters that could spray corrosive liquid with "weapon-destroying" properties.
"I wonder how it compares to my Device in terms of hardness," Eiji muttered to himself.
But this thought only lasted a moment—now was definitely not the time for such considerations.
"By the way, these weapons must be incredibly expensive, right?"
"Over a hundred million valis each."
"Gasp! Is our Familia not going bankrupt?"
"Thanks to you."
Riveria smiled meaningfully at him.
Eiji was momentarily stunned before understanding dawned.
Because of that incident where the frog woman attacked Eiji without authorization, Finn and the others had extorted a hefty sum from Ishtar Familia—a full billion valis. Of this, a hundred million went to Eiji while nine hundred million was appropriated by Finn for public funds.
Then about seven hundred million of that was used to commission Tsubaki to forge the Indestructible series weapons.
So actually, there was still a surplus.
Tch.
Only asking for ten percent back then was way too little!
Eiji's face darkened.
"By the way, Lady Tsubaki will be accompanying us."
"Oh?"
"While Indestructible weapons can't be destroyed, they can still become dull. She's coming along to perform maintenance. That's also why she only handed over the weapons to us here at the last moment."
"She's Level 5, right? Then we should be grateful to have her."
"Indeed."
As Eiji and Riveria exchanged these words,
the atmosphere in the camp gradually shifted.
All members were staring intently at the first-class adventurers' new weapons as the jester flag planted at the center of the base fluttered in the wind.
"—Move out."
The prum leader gave the order.
Amidst the cheers from members staying behind at the temporary base and the blacksmiths, the elite squad of Loki Familia departed from camp, leaping off the massive rock shelf and charging at full speed toward the distant gray forest.
Eight first-class adventurers, five supporters, and one blacksmith.
A fourteen-member team challenging territory not even the strongest Familias had reached before!
...
"Seriously, why is Bete the vanguard instead of Eiji?"
While advancing through the forest, Tiona, who was carrying the Indestructible greatsword on her shoulder, complained loudly.
"Shut up, you dumb Amazon!"
Bete, wearing silver boots and wielding Indestructible dual swords with several magic swords hanging at his waist, roared in annoyance.
According to Finn's formation:
Bete and Tiona were the vanguard.
Eiji and Ais covered the flanks.
Riveria and Gareth brought up the rear.
In the center were Finn, Tione, and Tsubaki.
Each position had at least one supporter ready to provide potions or swap weapons.
This formation brought out Loki Familia's absolute peak combat potential—the initial lineup Finn deemed most suitable for conquering the 51st floor.
"Lefiya, are you nervous?"
"I-I'm okay..."
"Good. Remember to always maintain composure."
"Yes, Lady Riveria!"
Riveria watched over the tense Lefiya, smiling slightly when she noticed the elf consciously regulating her breathing.
"Enough chatter. Everyone, prepare for battle!"
The squad passed through the gray forest and arrived at the flat, massive cave located at the northernmost edge. From the entrance, they could see a steep passage like a cliff, where the crimson eyes of several monsters gleamed at the far end.
"All units, charge!" Finn shouted sharply.
Like a storm, the entire group rushed down the steep passage.
The moment they charged in, both Bete and Tiona shattered every monster blocking their path.
At the same time, the dungeon itself roared to life.
Countless monsters converged from all directions, forming a frenzied tide of beasts to block the adventurers' reckless advance!
