The Asgardian Paladin

Chapter 3: CHAPTER 3

[Forging Blueprint – Indestructible Power] Obtained.

At first, Luo Wei thought it was the famous [All-Conquerable Power], a legendary artifact. His heart raced with excitement. But as he took a closer look, his enthusiasm plummeted.

> Indestructible Power

Type: Warhammer

Standard Item Level: 0

Main Material: Any

Forging Technique: Shape any material into a hammer

Description: A hammer

Supplement: None

Luo Wei stared at the blueprint, feeling like 100,000 alpacas were trampling through his heart.

In World of Warcraft, the Indestructible Power hammer was useless—a joke item. Some collectors liked it, and vendors would buy it for a few copper coins. But in this reality? It was completely worthless.

"A Gift of Destiny costs almost a gold coin! That's tens of thousands in real-world currency! And I got this piece of trash?" Luo Wei gritted his teeth.

Frustrated but unwilling to give up, he purchased another [Gift of Destiny].

Luo Wei: "…"

He took a deep breath and tried again.

That was something, at least. He continued, determined to make a profit.

"Not bad, at least I gained something," Luo Wei muttered. He kept going.

[Book of Spells – Holy Light Strike]

Luo Wei's eyes lit up. He quickly turned the page to check the details.

> [Book of Spells – Holy Light Strike]

Summons the power of Holy Light to enhance an attack. If the target is guilty of sin, the strike is amplified—the deeper the sin, the stronger the effect. The spell book disappears after use.

Luo Wei frowned. It was a powerful ability, but…

He had no weapon.

He had no combat skills.

And he wasn't even strong.

Sigh… I should focus on improving myself first instead of gambling on these random draws, he thought.

Luo Wei was thin, weak, and underage. In Asgardian terms, he was a pathetic excuse for a warrior. Sure, he could bully Earth's mortals, but even then, he wouldn't last against a trained human fighter.

An embarrassment to Asgard.

Determined to change that, he stopped the lottery and turned his attention to the Guardian's Gift, realizing there were still items he hadn't checked.

[Alchemy Formula – Talent Flask]

His heart skipped a beat. He hurriedly flipped to the details.

> Talent Flask

Type: Elixir

Standard Item Level: 7

Main Ingredients: Silverleaf Grass, Heather Grass, Purple Lotus, Golden Thorn Grass, Lightning Core, Sand of Time, Arcane (trace), Blood of Mountains, Blood of a Young Dragon

Alchemy Technique: Complex

Effect: Significantly and positively reshapes all of the user's natural talents. The strength of the effect depends on the quality of alchemy completion and includes an element of randomness. The user may acquire a special talent after consumption.

Supplement: Can only be taken once in a lifetime. Multiple doses are ineffective. God's Blessing enhances its effects.

Luo Wei's hands trembled.

This was a game-changer.

Drinking this elixir could enhance his talents—possibly giving him the same power as Thor. Well… minus Thor's intelligence.

However, crafting the Talent Flask seemed incredibly difficult.

For reference, the Fist of Verrigan, a Paladin's novice hammer, was only Level 4—and this elixir was Level 7.

The ingredients list was terrifying:

Dragon Blood (must be from a young dragon)

Blood of Mountains (Ugh… not this again…)

Arcane essence

Luo Wei's soul trembled when he saw Blood of Mountains.

In World of Warcraft, it was a nightmare to obtain. He had farmed Molten Core dozens of times, painstakingly collecting ten vials just to forge the Sulfuron Hammer—the precursor to Sulfuras, the Hand of Ragnaros.

Would Asgard even have a substitute for it?

As for Dragon Blood… well, there was that Fire Dragon from Thor: Ragnarok. But fighting a giant, flame-spewing monster? Yeah. Not happening anytime soon.

Luo Wei shook his head. Forget about this for now.

Instead, he turned his attention to something more practical:

[Paladin Combat – Unarmed (Beginner)]

[Paladin Combat – Hammer (Beginner)]

Finally! Something he could actually use.

He studied Paladin Combat – Unarmed first.

To his surprise, it was excellent.

Not only did it explain techniques clearly and simply, but it also used detailed illustrations—like a complete martial arts manual.

And, staying true to the Paladin tradition, the combat techniques were flashy.

Each move looked powerful, noble, and aesthetically pleasing. Unlike ordinary brawling techniques, Paladin combat was graceful, almost like a battle dance.

Luo Wei couldn't help but try some of the movements in his room, throwing a few practice punches.

That's when he heard someone calling his name.

"Luo Wei!"

He turned toward the window.

A chubby, black-haired boy was standing outside, waving enthusiastically.

"I heard you're okay! Came to check on you!"

Luo Wei froze.

Although he had inherited some of the original owner's memories, they were incomplete. He recognized this boy vaguely, but his name was completely missing.

Still, he had a feeling they were friends.

"What's up? Come down already!" The black-haired boy waved impatiently.

"Oh, uh… sure." Luo Wei turned toward the staircase.

"Where are you going?" The black-haired boy frowned.

"…Downstairs?"

There was an awkward silence.

Then, Luo Wei remembered.

The original Luo Wei never used the stairs.

He jumped out of the window every time—a typical Asgardian flex. Jumping from a three-story building was nothing for an Aesir, especially one who enjoyed climbing and parkour.

But Luo Wei wasn't the same anymore.

Jumping from that height now? Yeah, no.

Still, he didn't want to look weak. He hesitated… then gritted his teeth and leaped.

He barely landed without falling flat on his face. His balance was terrible, but at least he didn't break anything.

The black-haired boy approached, slapping him on the shoulder. "What's wrong with you? You were about to take the stairs just now, weren't you?"

Luo Wei: "…"

"You were, weren't you?!" The boy grinned.

Luo Wei sighed. I have no idea who you are…

"…Uh, what's your name again?"

The boy's eyes widened. "You forgot me?!"

"I remember your face, just not your name. Maybe it's a side effect of what happened."

The boy squinted at him suspiciously. Then, after a long pause, he muttered,

"S—do you remember?"

"What?" Luo Wei blinked.

"…Sco—"

"What?"

"…Scorch."

Luo Wei stared.

"Scorch?"
